I know what ya mean - I spent seven years in the Texas sun - Roasting his ass on the asphalt would be far better than just kickin' his ass between his shoulder blades Action©Sports

Any risk of picking up part of the helmet or the video camera if you mount a wide angle on the still camera? If I mounted my SLR (not digital) that far back with a 15mm fisheye it would pick up half of the video camera and part of the mounting plate. I know digital SLR's use multiplication factors and if I'm not mistaken, a 15mm is comparable to a 24mm when mounted on a 10D - I just tried it with a 24 mm on my FTP for shits and giggles it picked up part of the mounting plate in the bottom of the frame. Just wondering - it looks like a comfortable weight distribution having it mounted that far back. Oh yeah, and Pattersd is absolutely right - one smack on that remote plug and it's time to whip out the credit card. Peace, Z Action©Sports

Thanks man - I just found a used Milliken 16mm camera with an adjustable frame rate up to 400fps?? for $1200. Damn, I could have all kinds of fun with that. I have A LOT of research to do before I decide to go for it but it still looks like an interesting hobby to play with

Well, if you need to edit the video on the fly you're pretty much screwed no matter what you decide to do if you intend on having it in a D-Box. I used to have my video camera mounted on a Stroboframe and that gave me access to all of the controls but it was a pain in the ass when it came time to change the tape. You might want to have a discussion with the DZO and see if they'd be willing to get a cheap linear editing system - Hell, if he's interested, let me know, I have two mixing boards collecting dust in the closet Come to think of it - I have seen a custom built box for a PC-110 that was open on the screen side and that actually provided pretty good access as well as protection. The downside is you'd have to build the housing yourself Action©Sports

Well, I guess I was looking for something a little bit more suited for a hobby type application. 15 G's is a wee bit out my leauge

Well, before the advent of the touch-screen there were these little things called buttons Usually, the controls are located elsewhere on the camera - on mine, for instance, the controls are located on the camera body where the screen folds in. You pop open the screen and Presto - they be right there

A-Minima features a quick change magazine which accepts 200' (61m) film loads in a new daylight friendly format on a core with flexible flanges. With a base market price of roughly$15,000 (USD), A-Minima makes high quality filmmaking very affordable. $15,000 - dayum, what a deal! he he he..... Hmmmm - the piggy bank is thinkin' - probably not

I like to see a man show his muscles, but not that much! Ouch! Although, weird is good! What? You ain't in to the Freddy Kruger type? Hmmm....let's see...he's a spiffy dresser, probably gives a good back scratch, likes to party all night and has a winning smile! I guess he ain't all that bad! Anyone have any experience jumping with a 16mm motion picture camera or the like? I was watching some video I took during a C-130 jump and Tom Sanders was jumping some gigantic reel to reel type thing and I thought it looked pretty wild. What I'm wondering is if there are smaller versions of that type of camera - MUCH SMALLER - I'm assuming that the editing equipment ain't exactly cheap either. I'm totally unfamiliar with that type of gear but I think it looks like fun. I'm just wondering what I would need for a basic set-up and what kind of cash I'd be looking at. Peace, Z Action©Sports

Yeah, the fun factor isn't really high but, as long as I can see the count and leave a hair before the floaters it works for me. If you miss the count it can certainly get jacked Action©Sports

Yeah - it's the muscles. That's what a skin graft looks like before it actually turns to skin Now it just looks weird
