Oh yeah, it's "Killing Kittens". I've been stuck in here so long I'd resorted to just petting them. There's not that many kittens left around here so I figured it would be best re-use the ones I had a few times before givin'em the final death blow Action©Sports

No arguments on petting the cowgirl - It sure beats the hell out of petting kittens I probably didn't phrase that whole jogging thing correctly - I did manage to jog for about 1/2 mile before it began to hurt, and I didn't push it any further than that. I'm still waiting for my x-rays on Thursday to determine if the final break in my Tibia has closed completely. If not, well, I guess I'll just have to wait a while longer but, at least now I know that I can endure some form of impact and that I can actually run, even if it's only for a short distance. I ain't gonna do nuttin' stupid Once I feel ready, I'll jump. But, it sure does feel good to know that it won't be that much longer

Are you talking about the very first one? The dude with the 911 Turbo with cameras mounted all over the place? I think I still have that somewhere. There are some pretty cool shots in that one too. If you mean the first actual video that they sold, I think that trailer is still available for download. Action©Sports

After spending nearly seven months on the couch and doing rehab for my jacked up leg, I went hiking today. I live right on top of a place called Cougar Mountain and until today, I haven't had the opportunity to really go outside and check it out. I woke up this morning and my leg didn't hurt so I thought I'd see how far I could jog - Well, the jogging thing didn't work too well, the impact is still a wee bit too hard for my shin but I found that walking at a brisk pace worked just fine. So, I figured I'd see how far I could go before my leg swelled up like a balloon animal. I made it almost 8 miles - I drank fresh water from a waterfall, saw more deer than I can count, and I ran in to a black bear. Luckily he seemed pretty scared of me (he probably saw the scar on my leg). And on the way back from my little excursion, I ran in to a purdy little cowgirl who let me pet her horse - As an extra bonus I managed to arrange a date to pet the owner of said horse, tonight If everything works out with my x-rays this week I might just find myself back in the air by Saturday. This is similar to a topic I got into with someone a few years ago about control. I asked them what they thought the term control meant. The response was to control something that's out of control. I replied with "You can't control anything, control is an illusion of ones skills and abilities and having the knowledge to over come obstacles." Somebody's been watching "Days of Thunder" Action©Sports

Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm not saying that Jon's video is a perfect example but I do feel that it's much more interesting than the example that you posted. I think a happy medium between the two would be more to my liking. As a viewer, I have no interest in watching 10 seconds of nothing but sky - In my opinion, shots where the subject is completely out of the frame are a big no-no. I also find it quite boring to watch a tiny subject for 20 seconds while you work your way down to them. In my opinion, sections like that bring the excitement level down to a point where I lose interest. Don't get me wrong Andy, I'm not trying to knock your work or your opinions. I'm just giving you some honest feedback from my point of view, that's all. Just to be fair, and to give you an idea of where I'm coming from, here's a link to a video that I made a while back. I'm not saying it's either better or worse than either of the videos you guys made, it's just an example of what I've been talking about. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1457 Peace, Z Action©Sports

I totally disagree - I find videos that are not synched to the music and that include long scenes from the same jump or longer clips are used as filler, to be quite boring and uninteresting. In my opinion, a video like John's here where short clips are timed with the music is much more dynamic and eye catching. Just my two cents. Peace, Z Action©Sports

No mate, my op was for a realign, replate, and bone graft. I am back in a full plaster..... it has now been 106 days since my accident but at least this is progress in a way.... dude, I think you have watched tooooo many porno flicks!!

Well, look at this way. Maybe your friends were just hoping that the nurse would see the thing and get turned on. Nothin' wrong with a hot little nurse coming to your aid in a time of need....... Then again, perhaps they just wanted to make you look like a perve U walkin' yet? Peace, Z Action©Sports

QuoteAudio first... is there any other way? Quote Of course there is - you simply take all of your video clips and paste them on the timeline in the order you want them - Then you just compose the music. Action©Sports

Bring it out to the local DZ of course Action©Sports

Dude, I thought Swedish winters were bad enough - what kind of temperatures are we talkin' about here? I mean, I enjoy skydiving and all but personally, I think the fun starts to diminish with every degree below freezing Just out of curiosity - How do you fit that big furry hat under yer camera helmet?

Well, besides the obvious, the much wider angle, it's hard to say if the lens is any better than the 28mm that you're currently using. As far as using the lens for Tandems and RW - Why not? I shoot tandem videos with a 15mm Fisheye (standard 35mm film camera) and I've never had a problem with it. You just have make sure that you're flying in very close proximity, including the exit, cuz if you're not, the pictures are going to look terrible. I try to stay within hand shaking distance of the tandem most of the jump but I also like to back off just a little during the dive so I can include some shots with more perspective. I often use either a 28mm or 20mm for RW since it doesn't produce the same Fisheye effect that I get from the 15mm and it gives me more flexibility as far as proximity and position around the formation. Just try it out and see how the pictures turn out. Make your decisions from there. Peace, Z Just for reference - here's a Tandem pic taken with the 15mm - your 19mm won't be quite so wide but fairly close. Edit - the second pic was taken with a Sigma 20mm on the same 35mm film camera. That should give you a pretty good idea of the proximity that you"ll need to maintain around your subject. I've been involved in so called "extreme activities" for over 20 years now and during this time I've seen my fair share of accidents, serious injuries (quite a few have been my own) and unfortunately, death. My view on the subject is pretty simple - Everyone who willingly participates in these types of activities needs to realize the serious nature of what they're doing and take full personal responsibility for it. Americans are especially prone to shifting blame and responsibilities - It's always someone else's fault. I've just never seen it that way. I mean, you willingly jumped out of the plane. What ever happens next is subsequent to that decision. It's never a good thing when someone burns in but hey, if you feel that you're qualified to pull low 360 degree hooks on final and end up killing yourself in the process, tragic as it may be, it's still your fault. There are of course many other situations that are out of our control but that is also a major part of the sport. So, if you're not willing to absorb the risks involved in a particular sport then you need to find an activity with more acceptable levels of danger. As far as when I stopped caring when someone bounces, I've never stopped, but I never let it effect me that much to begin with. I've had a few very close friends burn in or die in accidents of a different nature and it most certainly hurts when your good friends are taken. I still care when a fellow skydiver, motorcycle rider, or skier, bites the dusts but, I have never and will never let it prevent me from participating and enjoying the activities that have filled my life with so much excitement over the years. Turtle, you haven't switched. You were always simple minded, you're just too simple minded to realize it. Never dismiss the power of stupidity. There's an old saying: No one has ever gone broke by underestimating the stupidity of the American public (the Pet Rock is a good example). You say you're not going to vote for an opponent but for anyone against him? You do realize that this means that you are indeed voting for an opponent because that's what an opponent is - someone who opposes another. Perhaps your slogan should read - Don't vote for Kerry, he ain't from Texas. Now go play with your Pet Rock collection..... Action©Sports

I've had mine for 4 years and I've made plenty of jumps when the temp has been around 30F on the ground. Granted, the temperature changes were not that rapid, it was just pretty freakin' cold at altitude and the entire way down - never a problem with my sight though. Well worth the cash if you ask me. That story gave me flashbacks....... I knew a guy who was totally blind who used to jump at Cleveland Parachute Center several years ago. Big Brian took him on what at the time was known as a Belly Bitch. Kind of an inverted fucked up rodeo dive. Well, the blind dude had two audible altimeters and two radios and a guy on the ground would talk him down. Somehow he ended up landing in a tree in some Amish dude's back yard. The whole family came running out to see if he was O.K and he said he was fine, he just needed some help getting out of the tree. One of the Amish dudes stretched his hand out to give him some help and thought it was strange that the blind guy couldn't find his hand - he then explained to the rather astonished Amish family that he was blind. Once he was finally out of the tree he kindly asked if it was O.K to use their phone to call the DZ for a ride when the Amish guy explained - We don't have a phone - We're Amish
