    Holy Crap!!

Yeah - the body is capable of amazing things. But eight days without food or water, multiple broken bones ( in her face ), and a blood clot in her brain ( just heard that too ). That's simply amazing. She's in the same hospital I was in when I jacked up my leg and from what I hear, it's the best trauma center in the Pacific North West. I sure hope they can put her back together again.... Action©Sports

    Holy Crap!!

I was just watching the local news up here in Seattle and they had a story about a 17 year old girl who ran off the road in to a 200 foot deep ravine last Saturday night on the way home from a party. She was trapped in the car with multiple broken bones for 8 freakin' days and she's still alive. When she was found she thought she had only been in the car over night and she was afraid she would be grounded Has to make you wonder........ Z Action©Sports

  7. That is creepy - I've seen a lot of trailer parks in my life but I don't ever recall seeing a double wide that would be sturdy enough to pass down through several generations. Second - How bad would the place have to smell for the occupants not to notice the odor of a decaying corpse lying underneath the trailer - I seriously doubt some insulation and duct tape could hide that kind of stench. Sweet dreams, Z Action©Sports
  8. Talk about Depth - Dayum - You be right, Dave. That is one hell of a photograph Action©Sports
  9. Well, the term "extensive experience" is certainly vague - Filming students or recent AFF graduates is quite a bit different than flying with more experienced jumpers. As an experienced skydiver you expect people to react to situations in a certain manner. Newbies tend to react in ways you normally wouldn't expect and that can be pretty dangerous at times - You have to give them the time and space they need and allow them to make mistakes so they can better understand why they're expected to react in a certain way as opposed to another. In my experience, it's not a very good idea to fly with low timers as a novice camera man. Although you may be quite comfortable in freefall in general, it takes a few hundred camera jumps to get perfectly comfortable jumping with camera gear and dealing with the additional distractions that come with it. My advice: Spend some time filming more experienced jumpers and get acclimated to jumping with camera gear before filming your friend. It all boils down to safety, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to accidently harm either your friend or yourself simply because you were a little too eager to catch her on film. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  10. Ask the S&TA - Should be able to give you all the answers you need. Answers from this forum might not apply to your DZ. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  11. Oh yeah! I used to have a Timeout - it went in along with my other FTP - it's in a swamp somewhere near FM-20 in Texas I remember there was a plug in for the LED but I never found one to try. Then again, I already have a Sunnto Observer, a regular altimeter, and a Pro-Track with the 3 warnings set - Guess if I can't figure out it's time to pull I'm shit out of luck anyway Still looks like a pretty cool toy
  12. Hey Deuce, Nice set-up. Where did ya get the visual Timeout? Action©Sports
  13. 6'4" - It's a bitch finding used gear Action©Sports
  14. I have to agree about the business men that hang out at titty bars - I worked as a bouncer at a strip club when I was in college and the suits were by far the most trouble. Always insulting the dancers and waiting in the parking lot for the girls after the show. Not many of the girls were as industrious as you. I'd say most of them were just trying to pay for school and make a better life for themselves. Hey, if it works for you then go for it - I've seen your show at the DZ a few times and I thought it was pretty cool. I just had to stay back a few feet so my face didn't catch on fire Peace, Z Action©Sports

I know it can be a pain in the ass to come up with a good idea but hey, just look in the users manual for your camera or almost any photography book and often they'll give you some pretty neat ideas to try. I think the wine bottle picture would be a good one to play around with - Expose it over a shot of a waterfall or something. Might be fun to experiment with

Have you tried making any double exposures yet, V? They're a lot of fun and the results can be pretty wild. I took this one a few years ago - The first exposure is of two friends doing a sit exit from the Otter at the WFFC. For the second exposure I took a shot straight up in to a balloon while the burner was firing. They're a lot of fun to experiment with

I like that one - The lighting, the colors - very nice
  20. That would be pretty cool to watch - It would be a bitch to replace the flash bulbs in freefall though

  23. Just give Bonehead a buzz dude - I've been using their helmets for about 5 years now and they've been nothing but good to me. I even lost an entire set-up after a disastrous opening (shit happens) and they had a new custom FTP in my hands in about a week. Bonehead is a good company to have as a friend - I'm pretty damned sure if you give them a call they'll be happy to help you figure out what's going on with your cutaway system - Hopefully, you'll never have to use it........... Peace, Z Action©Sports
  24. Well, at least you guys showed up and gave it a shot. From what I can see, you've made some awesome progress since the last time I got to film you doin' your thing on the board - Hell, I don't even think Brains had a single camera jump at time and that wasn't all that long ago. Great job guys
