  1. Sweet - Always liked the TVR - Saw one of these the at the store the other day - every day grocery wagon for some I guess Action©Sports
  2. Actually, the 1/4 mile time is still perfectly valid - The clock doesn't start with the green light - The clock starts when the front tire leaves the staging beams. The red light just means he jumped the start and left the staging beams before the light turned green. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  3. She may not be the most beatuiful ride on earth but boy she sho do sound good - turn up the volume Vroom Vroom Action©Sports

  5. This is how I do it – I don’t know if it’s the actual scientific way of calculating it but it works for me. Start with the focal length of the built in lens on your camera. For the PC110 it is 4.2mm - 42.0mm. Multiply that by the conversion factor of your new lens and you’ll get you the focal length with your conversion lens FL x .3 = New FL or 4.2mm x 0.3 = 1.26mm -(12.6mm) To get the difference in image width you have to divide the original focal length by the new focal length. 4.2/1.26 = 3.33 Take the 3.33 and multiply it by the size of your CCD chip (PC110 is ¼”) and you get 3.33 x .25 = 0.835 This is your multiplication factor for the new lens If your original image width was 10 feet at a specified distance your new one will be 10 x 1.835 = 18.35 feet at the same distance. If you do the same calculations with a 0.42 you’ll come up with 0.595. I’ve measured it with my Kenko .42 high grade and it was pretty damned close.. Hope it helps, Z Action©Sports

    My Pops.....

Thanks everyone for your condolences. It was a real boost to see all of the familiar faces at San Marcos this weekend too. Too bad I didn't have enough time get in on some jumps - I really wanted to get some new footage of L.A.S.T now that you guys have become such celebrities. Guess I’ll just have to hook up with you guys next time. Peace, Z Action©Sports

    My Pops.....

My Pops was quite the character. I remember one day, pulling up the driveway seeing this “old guy” mowing the lawn wearing the "Skydive Hard" t-shirt I picked up for him as a goof at my first boogie over 10 years earlier. To this day I don’t know why he loved that t-shirt so much. He was always the best dressed guy in the room; at the office, the company party, or just sitting on the couch at home. He always dressed so damned well. It was so out of character for him but for some reason, he just loved that t-shirt. It’s strange, the little memories that surface when you find out someone you love so much has passed away. I don’t know why I thought of that damned t-shirt – it was just the first thing that popped in to my head when I got the news. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. We made our first skydives together back in 1992 – Me, my brother, and my Pops. That was a really good day………. Blue Skies – Z Action©Sports

  10. Considering that it hasn't been released yet, I think it might be a little hard to say. I'm on a waiting list though. Once I try it out I'll let you know. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  11. You a good man, Zen. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  12. Let me guess - that came right off the top of yer head? Action©Sports
  13. I know where Linnea is - If you drop me a PM with your number or e-mail address I'll pass it on to her for ya. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  14. Sounds like you've taken all the right precautions. Just remember if you decide to take Dave up on his offer that as part of the training you should get a chance to see what happens to a real person when they get sprayed with OC or whacked with a cattle prod......and then ask him very politely to volunteer. Peace, Z Edit: Check your lease about the dead-bolt thing. I'm pretty certain that Douva's right about that. Here's a copy of a standard Texas apartment lease contract. Clicky Look under section 9. Security Devices It states that Texas Law requires, with some exceptions, that we must provide at no cost to you when occupancy begins: (skipping to the relevant part) (5) A keyless bolting device (deadbolt) on each exterior door; and (6)either a keyed doorknob rekeyed after the prior resident moves out..... This according to Section 92.165 of the Code. From what I understand, you have the right to request that a deadbolt be installed at no charge to you. Good luck, Z Action©Sports
  15. Agreed. I'm by no means trying to start an argument or get this thread moved to SC. Moody obviously feels scared by what happened and I just wanted to point out that keeping a gun in the house is a serious decision that should be thoroughly thought through. There are a number of other ways to secure you home. Many have already been brought up such as dead bolts, alarms, motion detectors, cell phones, etc... I may have missed it but, has anyone suggested a dog yet? Dogs are not only great companions but they offer some very good protection and are also an excellent deterrent. I think you'll find that most criminals will pass up a residence with dogs for one without. They're not called "Man's best friend" for nothin'. Public apology if the gun thing went off track. That was not my intention. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  16. One reason I feel that this danger is being overstated is the fact that many perps will flee at the presentation of a gun. Some won't, but many will. I wonder what statistics would show, if there were any, about the number of people who present a gun in defense, don't fire it, and end up hurt or killed with it by their attacker. My guess would be "not that many, and certainly fewer than many people think." -Jeffrey Sorry, Jeffrey, but that's just stupid. There is one very simple rule that ALWAYS applies when it comes to pulling a gun; If you pull it, you better be prepared to use it. And that includes killing someone with it. Do you honestly think that purchasing a hand gun adequately prepares you to use it, or possibly even kill someone with it, in a self-defense situation? NFW. And as far as statistics go: Guns kept in the home for self protection are 22 times more likely to be used to kill someone you know than they are to kill in self-defense (New England Journal of Medicine 1997) I'm not saying that you shouldn't own a gun, Jeffrey. What I'm saying is that if you decide to take that route, get trained and get informed. Simply owning a gun does nothing to guarantee your protection, as a matter of fact, just owning a gun actually increases your chances of death by foul play. If perps can kill cops with their own guns like this Clicky, you can be damned sure they can take it way from the untrained with much less effort. You are sadly mistaken if you think that the simple act of pulling a gun is going to save your ass in a critical situation. Peace, Z Action©Sports
  17. That doesn't matter in TX, if they're in YOUR house/apartment without your permission and they have no legal right to be there (law enforcement, property owner or manager, etc) then you have every legal right to assume they mean you lethal harm and react accordingly. Thats just Texas, though, I can't speak for other states. Very true - I never checked to see where she lived. I used to live in Texas and I'm quite familiar with their gun laws. On the other hand, why even give the stupid bastard a chance to get off with a limp and a technicality? My personal choice would be to put the o'l USP .45 to good use and systematically remove any and all chances of legal mumbo jumbo. Permanently. "God didn't make all men equal. Mr. Colt did" Action©Sports
  18. As opposed to reloading all the drivers and software and going through all that crap, try this: Open Spybot S&D in advanced mode and click on the Recovery button. From there you can undo any changes you're roomie did with Spybot. Just a thought, Z Action©Sports
  19. A very very bad idea. If the perp is inside, they are generally with in 20ft, the average man can cover 20ft in 1.5 seconds, so by the time you draw the weapon and pull the trigger, the perp is on top of you. Possibly with a knife in your gut or worst. Basically, if you have to pull the trigger, you may only get one chance, make that one chance count! The old rules still apply - Run towards a gun. Run away from a knife. Dave makes a good point and that's definitely something to think about but, while you're considering that, consider this: If you're not prepared (and that includes being properly trained in the safe and effective use of a handgun) to kill someone in defense of your life or home, do not have a gun in the house. If you crap out during that one critical moment, you're very likely to end up a victim of your own weapon. On the other hand, if you feel that you can handle a gun comfortably under those circumstances, aim center mass and make damned sure the fucker is DEAD. When the case comes in front of a judge, it's his word against yours. Peace, Z Edit: I forgot to add the "safe and effective use of a handgun". I work for a company that provides equipment and tactical training to military, law enforcement agencies, and civilians, world wide. My boss would bitch slap me if saw my comments without that little "statement" he he he Peace, Z Action©Sports
  20. Thanks for the offer, Scott. I might have to take you up on that. Do you have room for 4 dual Pentium 4 computers too? Peace, Z Action©Sports
  21. Sorry guys - If I gave away five I'd be left with a very small and oddly shaped big screen Unfortunately, they're not mine to give away. I'm working on a government contract at the moment and they specified dual monitors for the control systems that I'm installing. It's a new construction and there are no doors or locks as of yet so I have to keep them sitting here in my home office until I get all of the wiring done and the facility is secure. Tempting as it may be, I some how I get the feeling I'd be used for target practice should I decide to keep them for myself Peace, Z Action©Sports
  22. I'm thinking about wall mounting these (there's 8 of them) and making one giant monitor for my editing system. Either that, or I'll have to try and re-create the computer they had in Swordfish Anyone have a better idea? Peace, Z Action©Sports
  23. I think the quality of your work would be more evident to most DZ.commer's considering all of the amateur videos that we share with each other. I mean sure, there are some who can make a pretty mean video but I don't recall ever seeing a skydiving video with titles and graphics of that caliber. I guess you picked up a thing or two after all those years behind the curtain at Disney Peace, Z Action©Sports
  24. Sweet! I detected just a slight hint of shameless self-promotion but the work is quite exceptional. Very nice job Mr. Quade. Peace, Z Action©Sports
