:65:0 65min of tunnel... NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Yeah, I'd definately get my hearing checked then. Good luck! NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Well if you _know_ the cable is good, maybe one of the cameras has a bad FW port, have you tried other cameras? We had a PC9 at the DZ recently whose contacts were so worn out you couldn't get "link" with a FW cable so we used another cam to xfer vids. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Maybe the dytter needs new batteries... On the ground it should be almost painfully loud. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

What kind of helmet do you use? Does it fit? Does the audible pocket sit right on top of your ear? Internal or external mount? NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

uh, yeah... but you can hold a Nitro, Blade or Xfire2 in a dive longer sooooo... the same pilot will get a better swoop out of one of those modern canopies versus a Stiletto since the recovery arc is longer. It's not rocket science. Any canopy can be swooped, but given the same pilot, some canopies are flat out better than others. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Some models of Sony cameras have a setting in the menus to turn on or off the Firewire capabilities. Might want to check that too... that "feature" was kicking my ass trying to xfer video once. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Truer words were never spoken. That works for canopies too... after bouncing off the ground, or swoop pond, the best canopy pilots keep flying it until they finally grind to a stop! NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

I wouldn't hold my breath... Try a Nitro(n) or a Crossfire 2 instead, those canopies actually exist and both will out-swoop a Stiletto. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Since you obviously have enough experience to know what you are doing I would suggest someone video a few openings. I had a friend do this for me for fun a few times and I found that my body position was sometimes a little sloppier than I thought as I was deploying and that my legs were way too wide during snivel causing it to open in a turn/dive. Other than that, I prefer to leave about 18in of unstowed line in the bottom of the container. Anything less and it seemed like the d-bag would leave asymmetrically and I could feel it spin up before all the line stows released. edit: spelling NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Yes, it was type 17. It was my friend's rig, but if it was mine, I definately would have had the end sewn over itself. I prefer to yank my chest strap open under canopy and that little bit on the end makes it so much easier since it won't slip through the friction adapter. I prefer type 8? "std" chest straps myself though. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Hmmm... I've done 45min in one day broken into 3 15min blocks rotating with 1 person and I've done 30min of a 1hr block a couple times broken up in strange ways. Transitioning between belly, back and sit gives you time to rest muscle-groups. I guess I could stay in there a pretty long time by standing on the walls or hovering on my back like a dead insect... I think I'd run out of money long before I got too tired to fly in _any_ position though. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

The last Talon FS I jumped did not have the chest strap end doubled over either. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Thanks to everyone at SVCO for a bunch of kickass tunnel time today!!! "Fly 'till it hurts" should be their motto! NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

...and if I ever deploy my R-Max, I'll let you know how it goes! That said hopefully Precision will be offering reserve demo jumps in the near future too (or at least a little birdie led me to believe...) NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Uh... the guy who helped put my helmet together is _sponsored_ by Schumacher and helps _design_ helmet mounts for him. You presume too much as to the intended applications of the articulating bracket and swivel clamp. My setup is not the first of its kind by any means and is in common usage. In fact Ben Forde has almost the exact same setup as well as many others around here. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Actually the ringsite is about 1/4in from my goggles when the helmet is on my head. Due to the way it is pointing and the narrow clearances, a snag is extremely unlikely. In the event of an unlikely entanglement with lines/riser the ringsite assembly will rip off since it is mounted with plastic screws which _will_ fail before my neck does. McGowan saying my helmet setup is a snag hazard or potentially dangerous is extremely ironic if you have ever seen his. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

When the FAA and lack of affordable/maintainable jump aircraft ruins the sport or makes it too expensive we'll all just fly in tunnels since they will be plentiful and affordable due to whuffos helping catapult them into the mainstream... tunnel leagues and world championships of tunnel flight are on the horizon methinks. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Viso on wrist... Optima in helmet... problem solved. The Optima kicks ass BTW. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

What you choose to work on in the tunnel depends largely on what your goals are. Do you use tunnel flight as a vehicle for improving your skydiving skills or just for the personal gratification of flying your body? Are you interested in RW (formation skydiving), freefly, freestyle, or ? There is an organization that has set forth a tunnel progression that will help you learn in a safe and logical manner. Their website is here: http://www.tunnelflight.com/ Personally, I work on a bit of everything. I have goals of course, but they will take time to achieve and when I get to that point, I'll probably set some new goals. So I doubt I'll ever say that I am "done" working on a particular skill. There's always room for improvement. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Thank god I left before that happened... NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

There are plenty of places in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and California where high speeds on divided highways with ZERO intersections are possible. There is zero risk to anyone but yourself. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080 -
Mini-risers also need to be replaced more often and some people just can't/don't like to spend that much money. My first rig had std risers and rings so that's how I know. Then I replaced my std risers with minis when I bought a new canopy... an unnecessary expenditure of $100+ but I wanted to pull my slider down quickly and stow it as well as getting rid of the damn velcro toggles in favor of velcro-less. Personally I use soft-link regardless of the riser type since they are better than rapide links. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080
