  1. Yes, but remember, his DAD survived. And he only went in because he disregarded the sage advice of his WISE FATHER. I'm seriously considering it! My wife, on the other hand.... BTW, pix are here.
  2. But only for guys, right? Got it. In that case, my score for last weekend is... (breaks out calculator.... has to move to Excel... wait the Analysis Plug-in isn't installed... where is that CD... wait... wait... wait... OK, divide by... multiply... square root of the other... OK!) 0:5:0
  3. Very cool. Mandy, did you model for that artwork?
  4. Um, OK, let's see. In men, (finishing) and (finishing finishing) are biologically two independent events, although they are often confused as one, especially by the men themselves. With training and practice, we can learn to (finish) multiple times before (finishing finishing). So, I would guess that this would count as the "multiple o" case above, unless a break of some duration more than an hour takes place. I would think getting up to get a drink and cuddling would still count as a "break", even if it was less than an hour. [sigh]
  5. Ahh, I knew if I waited long enough we would get to this issue! Do you mean (whispers: finish, finish), or does just (whispers: "internally finishing") count?
  6. Um, well, without going into detail, not necessarily. Especially if it was more than a two-way.
  7. OK, so getting up for a drink, and cuddling and talking about how much in love we are FOR LESS THAN AN HOUR before getting "back to it" would only count as one? Carl
  8. Hey, that's right! Michele, how would we score that? Huh? Huh?
  9. Hmmmm, sounds reasonable, but how do you define "a break"? I can be so anal sometimes. Who really cares, anyway? We're all going to lie about it anyway!!
  10. Don't know if this counts, but I was out at a nearby park/reserve that used to be the Charlestown Naval Air Station. Some of the parking lots and paths used to be runways. Anyway, I drove out to the end of one, turned around, stopped, then accelerated down as fast as I could. Didn't reach the takeoff speed of the Maxima before reaching the end tho. Carl
  11. So, what is a session? If you hop into bed at night, go two rounds, wake up and go another two, is that one, two or four? By the way, drink plenty of fluids before trying this at home. Carl
  12. It's on the table. The "correct" spelling, of course! I wouldn't want him to have to be "little Carl" his whole life, but I wouldn't mind being called "BIG Carl" all the time! hehe
  13. You know, I don't think the guidelines for the first number were actually ever clearly defined. For example, is the number the same for the couple (or however many participant there are )? Or can one "score" more than the other(s)? Also, if a couple/group goes multiple "rounds", does that still count as one? I don't even want to make an attempt at defining the rules for this one, but in the name of science and fair reporting, someone has to! Carl
  14. Paul, the plan is to start small and build it up. I agree with you, it could get zooey and dangerous very quickly. I'm planning on organizing at least one of the groups, and am hoping to get one or two other experienced organizers. Ideally, we would start with two or three small groups to determine levels, and get practice working together. Once we feel comfortable with that, we can start combining groups into larger formations. Anyway, I'll send you an email so we can discuss the other secret strategies off line. Thanks. Carl
  15. Whoa, Pyke, don't rush me, man! I still have until 5 December to be reckless and irresponsible.
  16. They don't look like they would block the wind very well, so you would have to wear a full-face anyway?
  17. Sin, we have a mix of low- and medium-timers, so no worries, we'll get you in. If you can, practice exits, stability and docking cleanly. If you can do some basic 4-ways w/Skydive U, you should be in good shape. We're going to keep things simple, no doubt. Carl P.S. Javelin, huh? Better than VooDoo, I guess! Hey, how about Icarus? Oooooh!
  18. Thanks, guys! That's the thing. We had a girl's name picked out (Katherine Elizabeth), but haven't thought of a boy's name yet. Katherine and Elizabeth were names my mother always wanted to have for her daughters. She ended up with three boys, so it looks like it will have to wait another generation! lol! I want to go with some cool name, like Niko, but my wife is worried about giving it a "trendy" name that will sound stupid in twenty years. Good point, I guess. Anyhow, new ultrasounds pix on the Web tonight, if you're into that kind of thing!
  19. I hate to sound morbid, but this is something I've often thought about. At what point would you realize that it was over, and would you spend your last seconds panicking, struggling with your malfunction, or enjoying the last moments in freefall, may pop a stand-up, or plan a graceful exit (away from the crowds, not too far in the woods, whatever)? Alternatively, would you track for a lake as a last-ditch effort to break the fall? My thinking is that I would keep working the malfunction, unless there wasn't anything left to pull/cut/untwist/cutaway/chew through/piss on, whatever. Then I would pick out a lovely and convenient spot for my demise, take a deep breath, and smile into the ground. And if I go, my apologies to my family and friends in advance. I love you all. Carl
  20. Cool! I have a list that I have started from the emails and PMs that I have been getting from people. I'll send it to you this evening. It looks like we are going to have a pretty good group! By the way, it's a boy. Carl
  21. Why doesn't she do it now? How cool would it be to have your MOM I&R your reserve! Carl
  22. I've noticed quite a difference in openings, flying, landing and packing between the East Coast (sea level, humid) and the desert (1000' MSL, dry as a [dz]bone). Between the slightly higher elevation and the dry air, openings are brisker, the canopy more responsive, landings faster, and packing a little easier. Also, when you sweat, it actually evaporates and cools you off, rather than just running all over (eew). Carl
  23. There's some kind of irony here, I just can't place it....
