Hooknswoop (Derek) used to have an updated version of that article on his website. Unfortunately, he seems to have decided not to continue to run the site - there's no longer a DNS record for pookiebearrigging.com. Despite this setback, the magic of Google allows us to see the page as it was on 4 Nov 2006.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous! Hope you have a great day .

I have no idea as to the reputation of Joone or Digital Playgrounds, but Heise is a very reputable source. Some interesting numbers on unit sales. Sony has stirred up some serious ill-will with much of the broader technical community over the last year or two and there's a lot of folk that'd be happy for them to fall flat again. Personal opinon: which ever format has its copy protection cracked first will win, which indicates that HD-DVD is the likely champ. Most technically-savvy people I know are telling their friends and family to stay away from both formats because of the restrictions inherent in the media. When AACS is cracked, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Last time I checked you can change the pitch but not the volume.

Why don't you just email Aerodyne and ask them?

Ouch. Where did the extra €1000 come from?

If that's the show I saw in London about five years ago, it's amazing. Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream as performed by the cast of Grease. And yes, she'll love it, especially if she loves dancing.

I flew model aircraft, including gliders, for years. Meant I had no problems understanding the flight mechanics of canopies, patterns, or wind direction...

Any Irish Jumpers (living in Ireland) out there????
bob.dino replied to guppie01's topic in The Bonfire
There's loads of places online that sell it - you just need to spell it correctly! Midleton Very Rare - there's only one L. -
Denying bail is for folk that are a flight risk or are deemed likely to offend again if left in the community, not to punish people before they're convicted. As for leniency in sentencing, I somehow doubt it. She's not exactly going to get sympathy from the judge for fleeing the scene and for attempting to pervert the course of justice.

This came up in another thread, possibly in Safety & Training. There's a significant difference between popping a toggle when the slider hits it, and packing the rig with one toggle off. In the latter case, the canopy appears to start turning much earlier in the deployment sequence...

1. Go to dropzone. 2. Jump. 3. Goto 1. In time, you'll learn all you asked about here, and more. At your current level, much of it isn't all that important. Better to save the space in your head for learning the stuff that'll keep you alive . In terms of skydiving books for beginners, there's a couple available - Jump! Skydiving Made Fun and Easy comes highly recommended. It's available from Amazon.com and from Skydiving Magazine. Welcome to the sport

When I had 30-40 jumps, I attended an organised 4-way weekend at my dropzone. Tutors, cameras, etc are all organised for the newer folk. At the end of the weekend, I was approached by a guy with hundreds of jumps (800 jumps! Wow!) who asked if I wanted to join a team. I said yes, and we started training. After a lot of team-member issues, that team dissolved, but myself and the original tutor went to Nationals with two others and got Silver in Intermediate

Skydiving professionals: How do you get paid?
bob.dino replied to brettpobastad's topic in Instructors
Up to you - that's a subjective question. Not really. The odds on you ever owning your own house go down markedly. That's what I've decided to do. Usually not. If it's raining, no cash. If you have sinus problems, no cash. If the operation owner sucks at marketing, no cash. There are compensations, but it's not a gravy train. -
Free-fall communication systems ?

I'm almost certain that no-one in Australia has one. Check the cost. Hope Nagambie is treating you well. -
Your description of the canopy you're jumping was so far beyond reasonable that everyone assumed that it was a wind-up, commonly known as trolling. Wikipedia's entry on trolling. A whole bunch of responses to that effect were deleted by the moderators. I'd suggest you go read billvon's response to you, and if you don't understand anything, come ask.

Four since mid-2005. Low toggle turn to get into wind. 180 too low. Flew into obstacle after front-riser turn. Downsize. 270. Hanger roof.

Here you go. -
I knew I'd seen something about it recently. Here is confirmation that it was being worked on recently.
