"Real football players don't wear protection".

It's not arbitrary. Do a search. Billvon and others have expounded on the calibration and lifetimes of electronic components.

You mean he got free jumps and a blowjob? Lucky bastard...
-
Nope. I've had my ego crushed, and I've aggravated injuries sustained in other endeavors, but so far a combination of luck and judgment have kept me free of serious damage.
-
Fuck. That's tragic. Hugs to all that were close to him.

How many passengers for each of these jumpships?

Under the fence?! How tall was the fence and did you put the canopy into it? Glad to hear you're in one piece after that one...

Thanks for the list Nick. It was a major factor in me understanding BASE after a friend fucked himself up, and occasionally rereading it has made me understand that I'm not currently willing to accept the risks of becoming a regular BASE jumper. Thanks for being strong on everyone else's behalf for so long.

Do a Search. The issue has been discussed to death, and reasons for the lifetime have been put forward.

A Tuesday joke as well? Did you post one yesterday?

Congratulations mate. Here's to many more years.
-
Well done mate. And serious kudos to your instructor. I bet (s)he's damn proud of you right now . What's his/her name?

...because all the British BASE jumpers are going to kick your arse?

I doubt it's the air hitting the connector that's the problem. It's more likely to be the air getting into the camera via the connector bay or through a connector and causing problems inside the camera.

Get professionally fitted for a good pair of running shoes and train on one of those rubberized running tracks. Should make life a bit easier.

How many jumps before your SCR?
bob.dino replied to steveorino's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Starcrests are part of the Australian licencing scheme. You must do 3 jumps, entering fifth or later each time, to be allowed jump in groups larger than 8 people. My home dropzone doesn't like signing off on C licences (100 jumps) unless people have attained their starcrest. After one embarrassing attempt on jump 51, I did mine on jumps 97, 98, & 99. -
That was Australia. Let's hope that they get better Aussie accents in this one .

Yes, and you owe double for asking if you owe...

1 : 2 : 0 here. Couple of hop n pops and an alternator that suicided three days after a service.

By all accounts pair.com are great, but they aren't particularly cheap. I use http://www.dreamhost.com. I don't need 100% uptime - 99.9% is good enough for me - and they're way cheaper. No complaints so far. If you do decide to use dreamhost, fancy signing up using my referrer url? It'd give me some cash against my next hosting bill . If not, no stress.

I think there's a very big difference between someone who has cheated once and someone who has cheated twice. I'm not sure there's a big difference between someone that's cheated twice and someone that's cheated a thousand times.

http://www.skydiveasia.org/ might have up to date info. Still never made it to Australia, huh?

A middle of the range Nokia would work nicely. In my experience, Motorolas are a pain.

Good luck. If it's any consolation, kidnapped Western oilmen are usually released unharmed after the payment of a ransom. It's a pretty messed-up situation in Nigeria - the local peoples of the Niger Delta haven't really shared in the oil wealth and are quite bitter about their treatment at the hands of the Nigerian government.
