Try PMing or emailing Brian Germain. He's done a lot of paragliding and also designs parachutes... ...come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that once upon a time he busted himself up badly under a paraglider in dodgy conditions .

His description made it sound awfully like a regular XF2, but since this is his first high-performance wing I'm not sure if he's even jumped a regular XF2. Or, indeed, if he's jumped a Katana of the same size as his GLSxf.

Was that a deliberate misunderstanding? marks said that idiots who swoop in the pattern are the problem, and you took that to mean that the person hit by someone swooping in the pattern is the problem? Brian's article was aimed exactly at you. Not at billvon, or at mnealtx, or many others. From where I sit here on the other side of the world, there seems to be a very vocal group of older jumpers looking to tar all swoopers with the same brush. People like Ian Drennan and marks have tried to say "Hey, there's two types of swoopers: those that are safety conscious, compete, coach, and generally provide a good example, and the fuck-yeah-I-can-swoop-the-beerline-on-every-load guys." The first type of swooper is trying to say two things to you: 1. It's not the act of swooping that's the problem. It's the "I can do what the fuck I want" attitude that's the problem. 2. Not all of these accidents have involved swoopers. Let's find the underlying cause and fix that, rather than blaming the symptom.

Jumper numbers in a C172 Reims FR172J!

His impression: It's a great all-round canopy. If all you want to do is swoop, a Katana may be better, but if you want a more versatile beast, it's great. I've not jumped it, and I don't have the experience to tell you how accurate those impressions are, but for what they're worth...

RMW Jumpsuits in Australia have always been excellent with communication. Whether you want to deal with the potential hassles of ordering from this side of the world is another matter...

1 : 5: 0 1 Intermediate 4-Way Weekend organized. Six teams on Sat, five on Sunday. I organised tutors, cameras, grouped people based on experience, and ran around making sure people got on the loads they needed. 250 slots, jump numbers from 40 to 450, a Skyvan, a 750XL, a Turbine Beaver, two bridle attachment points torn (by the same person!), and one camera-man chop on Sunday's sunset load. The line-over looked spectacular on video! I got three hop n pops in when I had a moment, and I filled in for two 4-ways on Sunday afternoon...

Does anyone in the US have a deepseed jumpsuit?
bob.dino replied to VTmotoMike08's topic in Gear and Rigging
A lot of people in Australia seem to wearing Deepseed gear recently. I haven't heard any complaints so far... but then I haven't gone seeking opinions either. -
When you change human nature. Or when the kind of people that currently skydive do something else instead.

As bigway said, that is for a certain very specific type of order only. I ordered in late October and received it in March. It's a very nice rig, but the wait is very long. I sincerely hope they can reduce the wait time, as it's the biggest downside to dealing with them for gear. For the record, in my experience, communication with Aerodyne was a bit patchy until mid-to-late 2006, and has been excellent ever since.

Well done mate.

Stunt Junkies swoop to cutaway question
bob.dino replied to jhilden's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Here's the PDFT article on the stunt. -
I have three different helmets - the Z1 is what I wear most of the time, because most of my swooping happens after RW loads. If I'm freeflying or hop n popping, I usually wear a Fibre Zone Composites HookR. It's a full carbon-fibre helmet that covers the ears, similar to a Cookie Composites helmet. Slightly tougher though. I've also got a Pro-Tec Ace Water which I'll start using once I can figure out the correct way to mount my Optima to it. Since the Optima is not waterproof and I need to be able to switch it in & out, I need to put my thinking cap on. Suggestions appreciated... The primary reason I went with the Ace Water was the exposed ears. Makes CRW easier, and the top swoopers at my DZ are really starting to extol the virtues of being able to hear the wind while swooping.

It's the Czech koruna. Wikipedia has your answers.

I'm out at the DZ this weekend. I'll ask him...

Exercise more?

This village has plenty

There's a guy at Picton jumping one. He hasn't spent much, if any, time under a comparable wing, so I don't think his impressions/thoughts would be particularly useful...

Yoga is good for stretching out your body, and it can help build your proprioception skills as well.

Nada for me. Had a nice relaxing weekend away from the DZ. Next weekend involves organizing and coaching at a 4-way weekend. Should keep me busy
