  1. That's pretty fuckin' cool. I hope you're drinking to celebrate.
  2. *whoosh* That was the sound of the joke going right over your head . It's just something that people occasionally tell whuffos, and when it's repeated here, people are just taking the piss .
  3. "Well, at least it's better than drinking my life away."
  4. Didya buy your beer? Was it Americans or locals setting off the fireworks?
  5. Bogan Usually recognised by singlets (see avatar), cheap beer, an unhealthy fascination with cars, and a total lack of class . /runs away. Fast .
  6. You, sir, are dressed like a bogan in your avatar .
  7. You're female, right? Or at least in touch with your feminine side? Then what's wrong with girly? (If you want to piss grue off, call him a bogan ).
  8. Nice photo. Is that over Nowra?
  9. I'd say it went soft in the nice Aussie climate and can't handle the rigors of life in the freezing North .
  10. I can't speak for Infinity rigs, but speaking generally I'd go with the hip rings. They make your harness that bit more comfortable by reducing the force needed to move your hips around. Stainless makes your rig look pretty. Your call . I've no idea what the absence of either will do for resale values.
  11. I asked HH a long while ago (late 2004?), and at that time he thought that less than 30% of the very regular posters had signed up. Picking a thread pretty much at random: 13 of 38 posts were made by premier members, which is 35%, though 4 of those 13 were by greenies. It'd be nice to get an undergrad doing a statistics course to have a look at the database to see what info could be extracted. The bandwidth costs of running the forums should not be underesimated either.
  12. If that's anything other than food and sex, I'll be really disappointed in you.
  13. No ya don't. I didn't get called .
  14. Humility is always a good thing . Besides, I'm pretty sure Mary Poppins got more distance under her 30sqft roundie than Tagle gets under his Velo . Edit: Sorry if this came across as overly bitchy. I have a bit of sarcastic tongue in my head .
  15. Glad to hear you weren't hurt. You're a lucky boy! Have a beer - if I was in your position I'd definitely need one. What condition was the BOC in? Hackey or freefly handle?
  16. I'd try the AFF people first. If it's the tunnel people you should be talking to, they can always transfer your call . Oh, and Benno (btucker) is now on an 8-way team training to win the Aussie Nationals. Many many skydivers don't pass their AFF levels the first time. I repeated level 5 twice. In my short skydiving career, I've found that learning a new skill can be incredibly frustrating, but once you get it you're left wondering what all the fuss was about. So don't stress too much, enjoy the jumps, and you'll progress at your own rate
  17. Yes, I'd seen that. It has a lot to do with proper 3-ring construction and very little to do with inspecting risers for wear . Again, that deals primarily with assembly of the 3-ring system. There's some more inspection-related info on pages 74 & 75. However, apart from ensuring the white loop isn't frayed, there's no real info to help me determine when a set of risers should be replaced.
  18. Relative Workshop hold TSO certifications for the Wonderhog under C23B and the VT-1 and VTC-1 under C23C. Making a speculative guess and assuming that the VT-1 and VTC-1 are tandem-related TSOs, I'd say you're right.
  19. It's exactly the same price as a Micron!
  20. So order a Vector 3-M. That comes in larger sizes than the Micron, and can also be ordered with a Skyhook.
  21. Do you have a checklist of things to look for when inspecting risers for wear?
  22. Use the pictures here to see what I'm on about. The white loop passes (1) through the smallest three-ring, (2) the grommet (hole) in your riser, (3) through the grommet at the end of the silver cutaway housing, and (4) around the yellow cutaway cable. The speculation here is that step (3) was missed out, meaning that the white loop could slide off the end of the cutaway cable. Does that make sense? If not, PM me, and I'll take some photos this evening (it's 10am here).
  23. That'd be the one-and-only Dav3e Ruckert on the right. The photo was taken at Picton. He recently celebrated 34 years of jumping!
