LET 410 - Bye bye from Australia
bob.dino replied to DanglesOZQld's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Does the Cresco not count? I've not jumped it, so can't comment... ...JohnnyMac's Turbine Beaver is pretty good, but'd probably be horribly cramped for tandems. -
Nice . We can drink beer together.
-
Happy Birthday you old git! Hope you had a wonderful day . edit: you know you're old enough to be Lainey's dad?
-
Is everyone involved ok?

Brown Recluse bite. Took 6 months to heal and nearly cost the guy his leg. ER. Now.

Here it is.

Skylord and the Hop 'n Pop Deal with Each Other
bob.dino replied to skylord's topic in Safety and Training
The two AFF courses I've seen in Australia (Picton & Nagambie) both require hop n pops at the end of AFF before you can do a solo. Picton requires three (5, 4, & 3k), and Nagambie requires two (4 & 3? Can't remember). For the record, current APF regs mandate a fully-open-canopy altitude of 1800ft. -
:9:0 8x 4-way jumps with my team. We got winded out on Sunday afternoon, but still had a productive time. I'm really enjoying my Stardians

Getting into higher performance landings....

'judgement' is also a correct spelling. -
Cool . You're not going to be seen for weeks . I'm in Perris from Saturday afternoon 'til Tuesday, but Sunday to Tuesday evening will be all serious training-type stuff. Will you be around Perris on Saturday afternoon? My plane lands at 11:15 and I'll be going straight from LAX to Perris, so I'll probably be there about 3pm or so. Hopefully

Another group - best part of 100m and I'll be comfortable. Under 50m and we'll be having a friendly little chat about the importance of exit separation and knowing when you're tracking up/down the flightline. Under canopy: if I know them, no minimum. If I don't, 10-15m and I'm happy. Landing: if I know them, no minimum. If I don't, 5m or so would be nice.

Best place to learn Sky-Dive in Australia?
bob.dino replied to alvk's topic in Events & Places to Jump
That message is from 2001. Why bring it up now? -
could my most recent pack job lead to a mal?
bob.dino replied to Rudderow's topic in Safety and Training
Yes, we do. We worship there every weekend. There's even a special light to tell us when it's time to attend. We then take up a collection, receive communion, and give thanks. It's called a 'bar' . -
Let's just all make it up on the day. And since I've not jumped at Perris and have little idea about coaching standards in the USA, we'll run it all past a friendly USPA-rated instructor first to make sure we all get down in one piece . But first you gotta get that A

Oh shush Grandad. Stop fussing and let the nice nurse give you a bath.

Tonto: riggerrob: darrenspooner: These days it's the swoopers that are the bleeding-edge these-idiots-are-going-to-kill-us-all hot shit hot dogs that get the girlys moist and the older guys are having difficulty adjusting to being called Grandad. Is that a fair summary?

If it were mandatory the world would contain very few skydivers. There are no functioning wind tunnels in Australia, and I somehow learned to skydive.

Exiting a Skyvan for 4-way, my then teammate's Oxygn visor blew up. It wasn't fully closed - I think he realised half-way through the exit count . I've seen him have trouble on one occasion since with the visor not staying closed.
-
There was also a nice article in the June 2005 issue of Skydiving that covered real-world operating costs and the aircraft from the perspective of a 4-way team (the Golden Knights). Oh, and the operators of Nagambie are Don and Louise Cross. Lovely folk.

Do a search; there's been plenty of previous discussion on the pros and cons.
-
Short answer: you're right. Do a search and you'll find loads on this topic.
-
Instead of being belly to earth and stable (like you planned) you end up in a pile of wriggling twisting bodies plummeting towards an unforgiving Earth. Very funny to watch from the outside, very common in low-time jumpers doing 4-way. and usually happens when someone messes up the exit .
-
If you n Frenchy come to Perris on the afternoon of Saturday July 30, I'll jump with you both!

Easiest solution might be to pony up for JumpRun.

It's quite possible to use Access as a front-end (forms & reports) to another database. So the back-end database could be Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, etc. MS SQL Server even comes with an Access migration wizard. That said, it'd probably be easier to design a web-based solution. Handy technical hint for anyone using access as that front-end: use pass-through queries.
