  1. Oof. 'Coz everyone was either passed out or in hospital getting their stomachs pumped?
  2. Deleted posts still show up in search results, even though you can't view 'em.
  3. That's a very very cool story. Well done
  4. Don't mind me; I'm just linking up a couple of relevant threads. Wind, fear and poised exits. Fear Abatement.
  5. Shockingly enough, it's http://www.merlinsuits.com/ . There's also this section up top called Gear which has lots of handy listings, and which includes the manufacturer's webpage in the gear reviews .
  6. ...and you can only do hop n pops, right? There's a group of Romanians jumping at our DZ at the moment and I've been told that's the situation for you guys. Not pleasant .
  7. Smaller cups. Works wonders and fools your body to boot.
  8. Next time, stick your tongue out like a dog in a car. Gets you the weirdest looks .
  9. This is the only question I can answer... I saw our 4-way camera-man chop his Stiletto after the top-skin of a cell ripped from nose to tail. The canopy had between 2,500 and 3,000 jumps on it and, yeah, he'd just been too lazy/cheap to replace the thing.
  10. We'd a pretty-much identical incident, except it was an elbow to the back of the head that dislodged the brand-new Z1 at 12k. Found in perfect nick. A while back we had a student lose their Pro-tec during an AFF jump. The student lands uneventfully, and the TA asks them where their helmet is. Cue a *Thump* as the helmet hits the ground about 20ft away from the pair of them .
  11. Depends on the Otter. To the best of my knowledge: -100 series: small engines, light airframe. -200 series: small engines, heavy airframe. Climbs like a dog on a hot day. -300 series (Super Otter): big engines, heavy airframe. Climbs like an owl with a cattle-prod up its arse. As to the original question: I love the Otter for 4-way (floor seating rather than side benches, please) and the Skyvan for pretty much everything else. Being last diver out of the lead Skyvan on a bigway is amazing .
  12. Speaking of piss-takes, this one ain't photoshopped
  13. I'll raise a glass to a man I never knew. Anyone well-remembered by good people must've done a lot right in this world.
  14. Good afternoon kiddo. Sweet dreams.
  15. Savings. I used to work in London and made quite a lot of money doing so. I spent it on learning to skydive, buying gear, and drinking a bit too much beer. All good .
  16. 'Coz the four hour duration allows you to drink more beer, or 'coz you stop the game to allow Dodge to sell you a BFO truck you really don't need? Or 'coz you use 90-odd players in one game in case they get get confused with having to remember how to attack and defend? Or is it 'cause the players need to be told what to do by the coach at every play? Can't the poor little dearies think for themselves?
  17. 120,000 people, all baying for blood, is a pretty amazing sight isn't it? I've never been inside the Nou Camp, but it's definitely on the list... edit: You know that when Luis Figo moved from Barça to Madrid, upon his first game back at the Camp Nou he had a bloody pigs head thrown at him on the pitch? That's passionate supporters for ya...
  18. Barcelona? edit: no-one's going to get this, are they?
  19. In that case: Happy Birthday! Breithlá Shona Duit! Hertzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburstag! Hartelijk gefeliciteerd! Joyeux Anniversaire! (and yeah, I did have to look up the Dutch one )
  20. Just pull out the repack card - it should have the Cypres details written on it. No need to wait for a repack. edit: on a Parachutes Australia Talon 2, it should be in a pocket on the inside of the harness where it rests against your pectoral muscles, just above the cutaway handle. I'm assuming a Rigging Innovations Talon 2 has it in the same place.
  21. It's too late for you to be ranting about how France beat Ireland, so: what's her name?
  22. You'd do better asking this in the Photo & Video forum. There's plenty of good advice available in there... And, if your profile is correct, does Don know you're planning on putting video & stills on your head with less than 80 jumps? 'Coz according to the Op Regs, you need both a C licence and DZSO approval:
