  1. Citizenship. How to become a citizen: So Irish-American != Irish.
  2. Well, I've always been suspicious of how well you and benforde got on... no wonder he likes you .
  3. 2k with a Spectre 190. In the saddle by 1850. What I've found with my Spectre: - Pitch within one second: 150ft to open. - Pitch after 2-3 seconds: standard 6-700ft .
  4. In other words, it's a carbon-fibre toy . To the best of my understanding, CF helmets aren't gonna provide any more impact protection than injection-molded-plastic. Since neither helmet comes with that funky foam used in motorbike helmets, I don't think either will do much more than protect from a knee in the head on a badly executed block. Another quick story: a couple of weeks ago, a girl at our DZ had her Z1 get yanked off her head at about 12,000ft. Upon recovery, the helmet was found to be totally undamaged; not even scratched. Seems an 'injection-moulded plastic toy' can be good for something . I've no experience with the latching mechanism of the Mamba, but I'll happily concede that the Z1 is kinda fiddly the first couple of times you use it. After that, no worrries. And it is damn secure; I've not heard of one opening in freefall. Not relevant to the original poster, but for others it's also worth pointing out that while you can get a Mamba in lots of different colours, you can't get the visor colored. You can with the Z1.
  5. I don't know enough about your industry to give you specific advice. General advice: look at various job websites. Most of them will have salary surveys that allow you to get a feel for the amount of money you should be making.
  6. Next time, ask for it deep-fried. Or get a deep-fried mars bar. No, I'm not joking. Both exist.
  7. Wow. Lovely photo. Wish I could say the same for Zoter's .
  8. I hope you've framed a copy and put it on your wall .
  9. Wow. I didn't know you could write like that. Colour me impressed.
  10. Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name Of Check out the lyrics in the chorus.
  11. Which is why I'm unlikely to fly outside camera for tandems. I'd also be cautious about getting a tandem rating... after all, my weekends are my fun time. RW Tutor (~=Coach)? Yeah. AFF? Probably. I'm not experienced enough for either yet, but maybe next year for the tutor rating. Another year or so at least before I start to think about an AFF rating.
  12. Well, as long as your jumpship takes more than 30 seconds to 3000ft you should be fine.
  13. I'm not sure what causes it, but it is a fact that you blink less when looking at a monitor for long periods of time.
  14. Cookie's helmets are really nice. So are Fibre Zone's (another Aussie manufacturer).
  15. Indeedy. Drew Lipinski (#6 at the WCCP before last) was raving about them last weekend. I've loads of fun on mine
  16. ...or post this to History & Trivia...
  17. Yup. It's not a taboo word the way it is in the States. Freaks a lot of Americans out when the go there for the first time .
  18. Are Rosenborg any good this year?
  19. If you thought the closet was cramped, imagine how I felt under the bed .
  20. I know a cameraman that did... accidentally. The 4-way team he was filming waiting 'til he sat down then told him his chest strap wasn't done up . The way he tells it, he turned white as a sheet .
  21. I've heard it as "every time you step out of the plane, you've gotta save your own life." Which I prefer, as the use of the word suicide makes it seem like I want to die when I get out of the plane.
  22. Actually, it sounds like the code behind rockclimbing.com is falling over, and that it needs a thorough overhaul. Maybe their servers are seriously overloaded too. And that the original owner didn't have the time/money/expertise to fix the problems. So Sangiro bought the site.... ...at least, that's the way I read it.
