    My new job

So here I am, first day at work, heck not even 2 hours into it and look where I end up. Right here with the rest of you post whores I scored this gig as a fitness coordinator at a gym and I think I'm going to love it. ...but please feel free to send me a pm telling me to get back on the treadmill if I'm senselessly posting. I don't want to become... one of them! Ok back to the ab workout routine. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  6. Oooh girl, I understand how you feel. My dog had escaped twice... and came back both times, once after several days. He had his fun running around and then decided he was tired of it and showed back up on the doorstep. Hopefully if you've had Leo a while, he's got his wits about him and knows where home is. *sending homeward bound vibes* _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  7. Aaaaaall my ex's live in Texas.... And Texas is the place I really love to be. But all my ex's live in Texas. That's why I hang my hat in Tenesseeeeeee... But really, Texas is rather large, and its home. So I'll take my chances. G'luck to ya man. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

Don't you ever check your junk e-mail? I see loads of them advertised in subject lines. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  11. Hey there, good to see you're interested in how your parachute works! Personally, I learned through a few riggers, two in particular. They charged me nothing for showing me the ropes, or for packing parachutes for them. I got nothing but knowledge and experience in return. I paid for my own tools and the exams. The written was around $70 I believe and the oral/practical exam with a DPRE is around $200. All in all, I spent barely over $300 to get my senior rigger rating. Derek's (Hooknswoop) article is a valuable resource, glad you read it. You can take a crash course for around $1k, however, know what you're getting into beforehand. Much of your proficiency will probably happen your first year following your certification, and see it not as a license to pack, but a license to learn. Good luck
  12. Dang you guys waste no time The jump went well. I pca'd Amanduh, she exited, and executed wonderfully. Congratulations and welcome to the club! And to boot... I qualify for unpacked BASE! Yeah! I did a tard from our 280' antenna platform. Thanks to Ted for holding my beer and parachute while I set up. B: Rollover off Houston building (last year, birthday June 25) A: 280' TARD (tonight!) S: TARD and TARD rollovers (Tater bridge) E: Rollover in Moab (err, some 210' wall for my 100th) _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

    Cameras...

LOL, you guys have me cracking up over here! How about this... I came up with this idea for halloween to be a pilot chute. I can wrap a 46" pc around me, and it make a perfect dress. If its got a vented apex, you'll appreciate the location of the mesh. So... its actually me, naked, wrapped in a pilot chute (man that sounds kinky) and I've got heels (believe it or not). Sounds like it meets your criteria, ya? Jen and I have other ideas too... but thats saved for Hold my Beer's Volume 2 video release _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  16. LOL, ok ok, you got me there! THAT was totally a blast... I was fixed on the jump that didn't happen. But I know we'll get it in this week and it will just be a birthday present extension _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

    Terminal PCs

Yeah, I see everything you're saying. I think the point I was trying to bring up is that... it seems the evidence provided by the drogue remaining inflated throughout the freefall portion of the skydive would imply that "A pilot chute generates lift exactly as a ram air canopy does, by having the air flow over the wing (around the round canopy)" instead of air entering the pc from the bottom and hence, inflation. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

    Terminal PCs

Tree points finger --> Johnny points finger --> Brit points finger --> Jaap... hey he asked the question, I just went searchin for an answer! Just for further debate's sake... I was thinking about a tandem drouge. Something like a 56"(?) big ass balloon piece of f-111, with a small hole at the bottom, much smaller than RWS's reserve pc. To boot, I would think that little hole is hanging out above the instructor's burble. So... why do manufacturers not prefer a large mesh bottom half if this is the most reliable inflation method? Johnny you probably have more tandem jumps than anyone on this forum so thats why I thought of this question. Edited to add: Keep in mind the original question is regarding terminal pc inflation. With all this nitpicky, down to a more than exact science debate, just making sure all the elements are in place for the equation problem solving ;) _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

    Terminal PCs

Good thinking. Decisions like that will keep you alive... or at least give you optimum opportunity. I thought it was interesting when you asked about marquisette netting vs. large hole mesh on a BASE pc. I originally thought large mesh would inflate faster, seemed logical to me. But I did a search and found there were some very good information regarding PC inflation. Quoted from Treejumps: A pilot chute generates lift exactly as a ram air canopy does, by having the air flow over the wing (around the round canopy). in this thread. So in conclusion, I'm not sure it would matter what type of mesh you'd use for a terminal jump. I'd like to hear more theories on this. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
