I'm using a Wings. There is no increased complexity, I simply use two closing loops instead of one. Yes it is easy to change a closing loop, but I like having two. Bear in mind that I have the kevlar cables instead of a pin (this has been discussed previously), I am happy with using two loops on this mod. Using the kevlar cables you actually need to be careful of a loop that is too tight - if it puts a kink in the cable you could have a pilot chute in tow. Using two loops lessens the risk of this. I don't think spending every weekend on the DZ makes you hard-core. If the weather is crap or you can't afford to jump and you have nothing else to fill your weekend (and life) with then you are pretty sad. Buy a good pair of running shoes or a mountain-bike, read a book, learn a new hobby. And thats one of the things I don't like. If you want a gear check then ask for one, I just don't like the fact that its mandatory. You said it yourself : So why rely on others to check things you could/should check yourself? Too many people get lulled into a false sense of security by a gear check IMHO. Hi Nac I know my granny was a Queen's nurse from Aberdeen, don't know much apart from that. BTW as far as DZ per capita thing goes, South Africa definitely has more than 4 active DZs.
