Thanks for that - good to read different perspectives from the experienced guys. Do you recommend newbies get the 5th upper control line fitted if they buy a canopy that doesn't already have it?(ref: your article on ABA). Thanks Will

Attend quite a few Star Trek conventions do you? Boy, you guys must be a whole lot of fun to be around when the beer light comes on!

Aaah, the smell of burning martyr...

Only if somebody walks around the theatre with a baseball bat smashing the odd femur and skull.

Well, no it won't be the same - it is going to be waaaaay better. I envy you - the more scared you are now the better you will feel afterwards. You'll be happier than any first time tandem passenger. Don't think about how scared you are now, think about how you are going to feel after you have landed and are walking around with THE biggest smile on your face. And then think about all the fun you are going to have playing with Marcus - hell why don't you go wake him up right now for some 'dirt-diving'....

The fight scene with Smith(s) carried on way too long, too WWF like - looked like a computer game not a movie. In some parts the dialogue was really drawn out without contributing to the movie. The special effects were better done in the first movie (without being overdone). Overall, quite disappointing - screw Revolutions I'm holding out for LOTR3!

Come to Hibaldstow sometime (bring your girlfriend).

Maybe, am on call that weekend (again)- trying to swap out. And cyprus is a place not an AAD.

What has skydiving experience got to do with this debate? I fail to see the relevance of his jump numbers.

So, because the USA imported very little oil last year (while Saddam was still in charge) means they have no desire to import a greater quantity of Iraqi oil in the future? But of course American oil reserves are infinite so no need to worry there. There is a demand for oil in the west (Europe too, go figure), there is a very large supply of oil in Iraq which can be drilled rather cheaply. I'll accept that oil wasn't the only reason for the war but I still believe it was a very big reason (if not the main one). Quoting the USA's imports of oil from Iraq in 2002 is not a valid argument, I'll go out on a limb here and predict that those imports will be growing rather substantially in coming years. All for the benefit of those poor suffering Iraqi people of course...

Guess that makes you the average American then. I don't recall saying Britain didn't need/want the oil, where did I give you that impression? Personally I like America, I've been there five times and I think it is great. My issues are with your current administration. If I go out and kill a crack dealer for being a crack dealer, a lot of people might support and praise me, but I am still a vigilante and answerable to the law (no matter how evil that crack dealer was). 911 gave the Bush administration carte blanche (in their eyes) to invade a country that had nothing to do with 911. I don't recall too many people clamouring for a war with Iraq prior to 911. Oh well, I suppose previously there was the 'war on drugs', the current administration has the 'war on terror' as their main selling point. G'nite Will

Funny how the one building in Baghdad that wasn't allowed to be looted was the Iraqi Oil Ministry. Why did the americans protect Iraqi oil records while allowing museums and hospitals to be looted? To safeguard the Iraqis' futures? Bullshit! The average Iraqi oil well produces more oil in one day than over 700 US oil wells. Drilling a barrel of oil costs $1US in Iraq, in US it costs $10US (Saudi is $2.50US). I suspect that the war had more to do with keeping over-sized American asses in over-sized American cars than it did about WMDs or helping out the poor (still) suffering Iraqi people. Will

This is true so long as you don't use a wide angle lens. FWIW I use an FF2 and am happy with it. (Am buying Flat top pro though - more mounting options/space). But will definitely keep using my FF2 for freeflying. Will

Care to repeat that in English?

I read the following quote in today's paper, I quite like it:

Your profile says you are from Iceland. Which means you can legally live and work in Sweden, right? Skydives cost about $12US in Sweden and get cheaper the more you do. [overstating bleeding obvious]MOVE TO SWEDEN![/overstating bleeding obvious]

And the really scary part is that you are considered an *educated* Canadian...

I went to South Africa on holiday. Caught up with family and friends, went bungy jumping, bridge-swinging, climbing and skydiving. You could say I had fun.

Yep, he certainly taught those Saudis a lesson or two.
