So if it is flight then it shouldn't be considered for a freefall record? Just playing devil's advocate here. But I agree with you, I don't think that Buzz Lightyear launching himself from a plane to Infinity (we wish) and beyond should qualify for any freefall records.

If he does spend ten minutes in the sky with his hang-glider before deploying a parachute, will this count as a new world record for time spent in freefall? Don't see that it should because it is assisted (but then the last record was set wearing a wing-suit). Anyway, I'm sure 10 minutes is not a world record for the longest hang-glider flight...

Just one thing, if you're going to have a regular jumping partner it really helps if you both have camera. That way you could always show some of your footage to a more experienced jumper in the evening and get some tips (if you're a bloke buying beers at this point is a good idea, but you're a chick so no worries there... )
