I also like the way the beer companies base their R&D and quality control departments on dropzones. I mean really, have you EVER paid for a beer at the DZ? (also nice of Durex to sponsor us in conjunction with that top secret study you mentioned in your post!!!) -

Justin, shhhhhh!!!! If the newbie finds out about the secret Government subsidy that pays for anything skydiving related (including beer) then how will we keep the sport as elitist as it is? Thank god only members of mensa can pass the A-license test!!! Can you just imagine if we started letting ordinary people become skydivers??? -

What and you think its easy for everybody else? If you really want to do it you can afford it - stop smoking and drinking if you have to, work overtime or get a 2nd job. Skydiving is full of people who don't earn big salaries yet find the time and money to jump. Stop making excuses and just go do it already. -

Add on what? Go to the DZ mentioned, pay your money, get your half hour brief, do the jump, see how you feel afterwards. If you enjoyed it then sign up for RAPS or AFF. Any questions you have can be answered at the DZ by an instructor. I'm obviously not referring to the first four stows, but the ones on the side. Is it safe to double the bungies on the side stows? I've heard lots of conflicting opinions, so I thought I'd just post here and get a few more. Seriously though, I'd welcome some input from any experienced jumpers/packers/riggers. Can I double the bungies, or should I shorten the bungies by looping them around a couple of times? Thanks in advance for any knowledgeable input. Will

As always, thanks for the comprehensive advice Chuck. I can see that there is a lot of timing involved in this and can't wait to have a go. I can also see some spectacular biffs in my near future, but I reckon I'll get it sussed eventually.BTW am I right in thinking that the rear risers take the place of the toggles in the first stage of the two stage flare? In other words, the rear risers plane out the canopy without deforming it the way the brakes do, hence giving a longer swoop? Then you only use the toggles for the final input when you lower your landing gear? Thanks dude. Will
