Remove the blinders and step in front of the mirror, please. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

And further investigation has shown that the original investigation was a cover up. You have to be kidding right? Have you not listened to or read the accounts of soldiers being ordered to lie? It would leave any reasonable person to wonder how many other incidents have been covered up to make the army look good. The families of the dead and injured need the truth at any cost. No matter what damage it does to the government, they deserve the truth. Again, further investigations has shown that the original investigation into Tillmans death was, in fact, a cover up designed to deceive Tillmans family and the American people. Soldiers were ordered to lie. Those who gave those orders have no place in the chain of command. They should be prosecuted and sent to Leavenworth for the remainder of their lives. These people are not leaders. They are criminals and should be treated as such. You speak as if this whole scenario was set up by the Democrats! Do you also believe that the Democrats killed Tillman solely to embarrass Bush! Must be nice to be so blind as to never have to worry about what is true and to waltz through life at the end of a leash. As with each and every blunder that this administration has caused it is by their own attempts to deceive that is an embarrassment to America! To hell with the White House and whether or not that they are embarrassed. They have no shame and they have proven such. I honestly hope that someday criminal charges are filed against those responsible for each and every death that has been caused by the lies that were designed to deceive the world. I have nothing but fear and loathing for this government. Feel free to kneel and lick the feet of your master. I much rather watch them burn in their own kindling. Bush is not my president. I have no president. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

The last attachment that I openned of yours (string2) was just plain nuts! I have learned to tread carefully into your sick world "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

They have only scratched the surface of who knew what and when they became aware. The full truth. When it concerns the death of a soldier (or any person) and covering it up then yes it does warrent hearings and the possibility of crimminal charges levied against those responsible. This administration needs no help in embarassing them as they have proven themselves to be ineffective as a governing body unable to carry out the duties of the highest office of the United States. The government has lied every step of the way. They sugarcoat it and pump it up has if it is a Rambo movie and every soldier is just as happy as hell to be there. They lied about Jessica Lynch saying that she fired her weapon until she ran out of ammo and then fought until she could fight no more. She said that was all a lie. They lied about Tillman and then awarded him a medal. His brother, Kevin Tillman, said the medal is bullshit and merely the Armys way of trying to cover the incident up. I guess they need their lies as a way to make war look like an heroic Hollywood movie where everyone is Rambo in order to get naive kids to join. If the true face of war was shown, most would be appalled and not join. I recall the reaction of some on this site when Bill Von posted a picture of a Marine who was completely disfigured. War is not heroic. War is ugly. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

Slappie, here's the link to buy their CD's. All three available cd's are great but, I highly recommend "Change Your World". The title track is excelent. I think that you will really like it. This cd also has "Rockstar" on it. http://www.threesixtysmile.com/store.htm#main "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

Check out my homies from good ol St. Louie Missouri. Take a listen to Rockstar on their Myspace site. Their national release " Addiction" is set for this summer. Listen for a song that Josh wrote for a buddy of his who is in Iraq called "Tour of Duty". It's to be released for national airplay soon. Country singer Keith Urban has hit him up to do a country version of the song but, Josh is not certian he wants to do that as the song is personal. When you finally hear "Tour of Duty" you're going to love it! http://www.myspace.com/360smile http://www.threesixtysmile.com/ "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." I have no fear of the government. I have a real fear of deer, therefore, I opt to kill as many as I can with my beautiful winchester model of 1917 30-06. The smell of gunpowder is the smell of victory! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young -
In 1995 I was diagnosed with depression that led to suicide attempts. The police took my rifle during this period. I signed for them to turn it over to a friend who held it untill the depression passed. There is no such thing as a suicidal diagnosis. Suicide is the end result of severe depression. I would venture to say that every human, at one time or another, has had a suicidal thought. With most it is just a fleeting thought but, a thought none the less. The murder toll for 2001 was 16,037. 11,348 of these were by firearm. In the U.S. for 2001, there were 29,573 deaths from firearms, distributed as follows by mode of death: Suicide 16,869; Homicide 11,348; Accident 802; Legal Intervention 323; Undetermined 231.(CDC, 2004) This makes firearms injuries one of the top ten causes of death in the U.S. The number of firearms-related injuries in the U.S., both fatal and non-fatal, increased through 1993, but has since declined steadily.(CDC, 2001) However, firearms injuries remain a leading cause of death in the U.S., particularly among youth (CDC, 2004). Without a deer season to thin the herds, deer populations will quickly out grow their area. Disease can run rampant in an over populated area. Crop damage can run into millions of dollars and cost the end consumer more in the grocery store. Over populated herds are a danger along the roadway (a 150 pound deer can total out a car and possibly kill the people inside). Over populations have to eventually spread out and most likely into urban areas posing a danger to homes, yards, pets and people (you must think that Bambi is all cute and cuddly when in fact deer during the rut are extremely agressive. A scared deer in a urban setting can do an extremely huge amount of damage and is an extremely dangerous animal). Us out here in the country are doing you people in the city a favor by shooting deer. We help keep produce cost down. We help control disease. We help to keep deer out of your neighborhoods and off of your manicured lawn. Most of us are responsible gun owners. I hunt because I need the meat. I cannot always afford to buy beef and I do eat deer most of the year. I will also shoot squirrels and rabbits. Deer hunting is sometimes fun and sometimes it just sucks to sit in my tree stand from sun up to sun down. Also, I would love to get a record breaking buck. A state record deer can make a person rich. My cousin's exhusband, Randy Simontich took a record deer in Bowling Green, Mo. with a bow http://www.mosportsmen.com/hunting/deer/bigbuck.htm. He made a nice little fortune from that kill. Sure, it is every deer hunters dream to bag a trophy buck but, that is not the reason we hunt. We hunt for the food, mainly. Also a large portion of the kills are donated to food shelters to feed the hungry. I'd much prefer that your kind stay out of the woods and away from guns. I am a responsible gun owner. I shoot on my property at targets. I know what is behind my target. When hunting, I know what is behind the deer in my sight. I do not poach. There was a game warden here at my house on monday looking for someone who poached a deer in the woods behind me. He asked if I was shooting or heard any shots over the weekend. Neither. He also asked if he could look in my freezer and check my rifle. I said "sure". I keep my deer tags on the freezer door just in case. My rifle is clean and obvious that it has not been fired in awhile. I view poachers the same as murderers. They are not responsible gun owners. They make all hunters look bad the same as a murderer make all responsible gun owners look bad. It is not the gun at fault but the person that use it the wrong way. I have every right to own a gun and to use it in a responsible manner. I do not have a right to own a gun and use it in an irresponsible manner. Those who do will face the consequences of doing so. If I hear who poached the deer over the weekend, I will call the warden and turn that person in. That is what responsible gun owners do. We protect our rights by reporting those who wish to not follow the rule. Safer for me, safer for you. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." DEER SEASON!!! Quite impossible to shoot a deer without a rifle. It is my right to bear arms against deer. Take away my rifle and the deer have won! ------------------------------------------------------- Dum dum.....just buy a compound bow and some good arrows. Totally possible if youre sneaky and quiet. Are you calling me a dum dum? (dumb dumb) Anyways, I have a long bow and a compound. Not much good during rifle season! My gun is my gun and no government has a right to take what is mine. DEER SEASON!!! Quite impossible to shoot a deer without a rifle. It is my right to bear arms against deer. Take away my rifle and the deer have won! I will not stand for such a loss. Deer cause trouble and must be controlled through controlled elimination. Deer are evil. There is no boundary for the havoc they cause. They destroy crops, invade grain bins, attack innocent cars along roadways, storm shopping malls and run amok causing panic amongst the innocent. They must be controlled with the barrel of a gun. The second amendment gives me the right to hold the gun that controls the deer population. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

Americans for Safe Access and the HIV/AIDS Lobby
freethefly replied to freethefly's topic in Speakers Corner
This is a great event that will ultimately lead to medical mj becoming legal for the millions of people who will benefit from it. Medical mj has been proven to be a great benefit for AIDS patients. Our government is criminal to withhold a medication that holds so much promise for so many people inflicted with life threatening illness. It is out of ignorance or predjudice that some Americans wish to keep patients in pain or wasting away when the safest drug ever known should be readily available. If you are not onboard for helping people in need then you are the problem and are partially responsible for their ultimate death. There may come a day when you too may need this herb. ASA Co-Sponsors Largest HIV/AIDS Lobby Day On April 23-25, 2007 Americans for Safe Access (ASA) will co-sponsor the largest annual HIV/AIDS constituent-based federal advocacy and education event in the US – an event which marks a major expansion in the national health care coalition advocating for medical cannabis therapies and research. Hundreds of HIV/AIDS patients and their supporters will visit Congressional offices on Capitol Hill to talk with Representatives about increased federal support and appropriations for domestic and global HIV/AIDS prevention, research, housing, and – for the first time – medical cannabis! ASA Participates in Largest HIV/AIDS Advocacy Event Organized by our partners, the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA), AIDS Watch is the largest annual AIDS-related advocacy event in the United States. ASA staff will be providing a three-hour workshop during the AIDSWatch training day and will distribute up-to-date printed materials to prepare AIDS Watch participants to lobby their Congressional Representatives on medical cannabis issues. ASA believes that by forging new relationships with public health and condition based organizations like NAPWA and by working together on common goals, we can overcome government stonewalling and create long term solutions that provide safe and legal access to cannabis for therapeutic use and research. AIDS Watch is a flash point in ASA’s federal advocacy campaign, but we are working in Washington, DC, every day to create safe and legal access to medical cannabis nationwide. Our efforts to implement and adopt compassionate legislation in the states are hampered by outdated and unscientific federal policies. Safe access in communities ultimately depends on changing federal law. Building a Coalition: ASA's Partnership with NAPWA We are particularly excited about our work with NAPWA because they are the oldest national AIDS organization in the United States and the oldest national network of people living with HIV/AIDS in the world. Our partnership with NAPWA began when ASA presented two workshops at their twelfth annual Staying Alive Access Matters Summit – a medical education symposium focusing on access to HIV medications, medical care, support, HIV education and AIDS prevention. Our exhibition display and workshops were well received by the conference attendees – consistent with current data that indicates over 37 percent of people living with HIV/AIDS report using medical Cannabis as a part of their HIV treatment regimen. NAPWA decided to formally partner with ASA in 2007 following a series of meetings between our staffs and Directors. That partnership was further enhanced when NAPWA’s Development Director, Tom Kujawski, agreed to join ASA’s Board of Directors! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Visit the AIDSWatch page for more information about AIDSWatch. Visit www.NAPWA.org to find out about our partners at NAPWA. http://americansforsafeaccess.org/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neuropathy is one of the benefits of AIDS medication. It is painfull, believe me. If you don't, eat AIDS meds for a year or two and then come talk to me. A couple of tokes of hi quality mj takes the pain nearly completely away. It is high time to reclassify mj as a schedule 2 or 3 drug and remove it from the schedule 1 list as it has been proven time and time again to be a benefit to the humanrace. Inhaled Cannabis Significantly Reduces HIV-Associated Neuropathy February 12, 2007 - San Francisco, CA, USA San Francisco, CA: Cannabis significantly reduces HIV-associated neuropathic pain compared to placebo, and possesses an acceptable margin of safety for use, according to clinical trial data to be published in the journal Neurology. Investigators at San Francisco General Hospital and the University of California's Pain Clinical Research Center assessed the efficacy of inhaled cannabis on HIV-associated sensory neuropathy in 50 volunteers participating in a five-day double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Researchers reported that smoking low-grade cannabis (3.56 percent THC) three times daily reduced patients' pain by 34 percent. "Thirteen of 25 patients randomized to cannabis cigarettes had >30 percent reduction in pain from baseline to end of treatment versus 6 of 25 patients receiving placebo cigarettes," authors wrote. A 30 percent reduction in pain is considered to be a clinically significant amount of pain relief. Investigators added: "Smoking the first cannabis cigarette reduced chronic pain ratings by a median of 72 percent versus a reduction of 15 percent with placebo [zero THC] cigarettes. On day five, just prior to smoking the last cigarette, median ratings of current chronic pain intensity were lower in the cannabis group than in the placebo group. Smoking the last cigarette further reduced chronic pain ratings 51 percent in the cannabis group versus five percent in the placebo group." They concluded: "Smoked cannabis was well tolerated and effectively relieved chronic neuropathic pain from HIV-associated neuropathy [in a manner] similar to oral drugs used for chronic neuropathic pain." The lead investigator of the study, Donald Abrams of San Francisco General Hospital, initially sought federal approval to assess the potential medical efficacy of cannabis in HIV patients in 1994, but was repeatedly denied access to the US government¹s supply of research-grade marijuana. Today's study is one of the first US-led clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of smoked cannabis to take place in nearly two decades. The University of California's Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research sponsored the trial. Previous clinical trials assessing the use of cannabinoids as analgesics have demonstrated that they can significantly reduce the neuropathy associated with multiple sclerosis, diabetes, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. Neuropathic pain affects an estimated one percent of the world's population and is typically unresponsive to both opioids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen. http://www.norml.org/ "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm I see the 90's being the worst to date and this decade has leveled and slightly below that of the 70's. The 60's came in with 9,110 murders in 1960 and went out with 14,760 in 1969. It was not double what it is today. The 70's came in with 16,000 and went out with 21,460. This decade has stayed within the 16,000 rate as of 2005. The 90's, by far, has been the worst. Another interesting read is at http://www.benbest.com/lifeext/murder.html The relationship of murderer to victim graph is interesting. Seems you are more likely to be murdered by a friend than by a stranger. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

No doubt, the US is an extremely violent country compared to other countries. Hell, this country glorifies violence. Video games made it look cool to just kill for the sake of killing. Movies has shown a generation the cool gangsta way to hold a gun when you're popping a cap in some fools ass. Rap music has shown that it is cool to slap a ho or to kill anyone who gets in your way. It is not the fault of the gun but the fault of society that allowed this image that violence is cool to grow into what it is today. Sure, there where murders back in the 60's and 70's when I was growing up but, not at the level it is today. I grew up with guns. I've owned shotguns, pistols (loved my Colt Combat Commander), rifles and a few assualt rifles (an Uzi and a Mini 14 that had a pistol grip and a folding stock. .223's are fun to shoot. Traded the mini for the uzi. Sold the uzi and bought a Ruger 357 double combo and an old nickel winchester model 94. The 94 was stolen when my house was broke into. These days my only gun is my deer rifle.) By far we were nowhere near as violent as young people are today. A school fight was a fist fight not some nutcase shooting up the school because someone made fun of him. When we fought guys from another neighborhood it was with our fist not guns. Something is terribly wrong and it is not the fault of the gun but the parents, the "entertainment" media and societies willingness to allow violence to be betrayed as cool. I actually meant to say "safer country". I do agree that Saddam was an evil bastard and needed to be taken out but the aftermath of doing so only strengthen Al Quida and made the world a far more dangerous place. Prolonging what is already lost only makes more people turn against the US. We are not seen as "liberators" but invaders prone to attack any country at any time. I do believe that the Iraqi people were much safer and happier with Saddam in charge. They knew the law and knew not to step out of line. Hell, they had schools, hospitals, water, electricity, food, medicine, jobs, money, security. Today, they have nothing but fear. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
-
Are you refering to Iraq being safer? If so, it was much safer before the douche in charge decided to illegaly invade a country to stoke his twisted ego. Iraq was a far better country under Saddam than it is now under Bush. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
-
Fuck those people over in Iraq. They should take care of business on there own. This bullshit invasion of a country that did not threaten the US is a drain on every taxpayer. I sick and tired of being denied the benefits that I am entitled to so that this fucking douchebag president can freely invade countries and kill countless numbers of people solely to stoke his evil ego. Good, Saddam is dead, now time to get the fuck out. Exactly what good is the US doing in Iraq at this point. Absolutely none. 100 or more dead Iraqis daily. An ineffective puppet government. Civil war between factions that have been fighting for near 1000 years. Absolutely no chance of democracy in a country that prefers islamic law. You'd have a better chance knocking down a brick wall with a rubber mallet than you will convincing these people to be civilized. Iraq was far better off with Saddam in charge than they are with that fucking waste case Bush in charge. It is not the duty of our armed forces to die for people of other countries who refuse to do the job themselves. The millitary is for the defence of the US. The attack on Iraq was not to protect the US but to bolster the ego of a douchebag president. Fine, if they are fighting to protect US citizens but, they are not. They are dying for what is already lost. The number of deaths prove your statement to be wrong. These people do not fear the surge and seem to welcome it. Before you go off on me and call me an uninformed civilian who knows nothing about deployments, I did spend time off of Iran during the Iranian crisis and time off of Iraq while we supplied support for Saddam during the Iran/Iraq war. What a waste of time and money that was. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

The US has the worlds largest prison population. The US has turned prison into a for profit industry therefore they need prisoners. Locking people up for mj is an easy way to fill these prisons. Free slave labor. All the while, psychopaths are free to buy guns legally. Death toll: Marijuana- zero Legal and illegal guns- millions More people are killed by legal guns. You are more likely to be shot by a family member or a friend (alcohol is often a contributing factor). No one has ever been killed by a joint. Locking up people for mj is a waste of tax dollars. The "drug war" is a major failure and has not put one dent in curbing mj use. Each year more people who are normaly law abiding citizen are put behind bars for simple possession. Consider this: Since the Marihuana Commission issued its recommendations 35 years ago – * Approximately 16.5 million Americans have been arrested for marijuana violations – more than eighty percent of them on minor possession charges; * US taxpayers have spent well over $20 billion dollars enforcing criminal marijuana laws, yet marijuana availability and use among the public remains virtually unchanged; * Nearly one-quarter of a million Americans have been denied federal financial aid for secondary education because of anti-drug provisions to the Higher Education Act. Most of these applicants were convicted of minor marijuana possession offenses. Yet, a person convicted of a violent crime, including murder, are allowed to continue their education with federal financial aid. Today, one in every eight inmates incarcerated for drug crimes is behind bars for pot, at a cost to taxpayers of more than $1 billion per year. Marijuana users are an easy way to fill prisons. The prison industry relies on these inmates to increase prison based company profits. It is not about punishment, it is all about slave labor. America, Land of Incarceration. Yesterday's events prove that it's not the brightest idea to depend on the kindness of criminals where your personal safety is concerned. Yesterdays event only proves that campus security and procedures were sorely lacking. 2 hours between the first shot to the last shot? Only an email sent to alert the facility? Two things are certian; 1. no one has an exact answer on how to stop the next shooting and 2. there will be a "next shooting". Pro gun and anti gun people need to stop their own war and put their heads together and come up with a plan that works for everyone. I would hate to have to give up my deer rifle due to crap like this. My rifle is a tool that puts meat on my table. I also would hate to see every Tom, Dick and Harry have a gun for their "protection". "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
