Maybe we can get folks back to packing if we show it to them in the beginning? Maybe it will help in the over all knowledge of gear? I know, a stab in the dark. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Groupon endorses Skyride!

Sure, they have to use the new name to try and avoid Larry Hills Collection company? I recently read a court doc from GA and it lead me to believe they are under an ORDER or the GA Court to conduct fair business practice. For the Lawyers here, if this is true, Would failure to do so be in contempt? Any way back to jumping and letting the State AG's handle the criminal stuff. question about uspa regulation to follow a tandem
matthewcline replied to ofer4's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No, I personally would call it RW and go with that rules stipulations per the Manufacturer. The BOD just voted to NOT accept any of the 19 items that where not already in the SIM as BSR's. As well as taking away the requirement for the Student to have a Visible Altimeter. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

Manufacturer's all agree now on 500 Jumps OR 300 jumps and pass the in air skills evaluation of the Coach Course. From the Tandem Parachute Instruction 19 Commandments they released in PIA this year. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

Maybe you missed the Bold remark? I used the quote for a reason, I addressed YOUR words. And what you did is "Old School" photo shop. You manipulated a Picture to fit your desires. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I know who you are and you obviously have NOT read this thread in it entirety nor the Locked on previously. No you don't, yes I have read this whole laughable thread, you have offered no actual evidence, just your photo shopped pic and "word". Blevins at least has some evidence. I do NOT have detailed information about Weber's military and I don't think it is really relevant given the time of his military "experience". I have presented what I have without scanning the documents which I would NOT do out of principle. His experience was of a rejected individual who could not perform his military duties, one he supposedly volunteered for, why? what was he hiding from? why the two names? If the "timing" is the only item needed, well, I am a true bad ass by your rule! His name is WEBER & COLLINS and putting him in a chute in the military is a waste of time. What is NOT a waste of time for me are the MISSING yrs in Duane Weber's life.No Parachute Training means no chance in hell he had the skills or knowledge to be alive after the jump, if he even made it. With what is happening today, I will wait and let things take the course they will...when someone wants to see me FACE to FACE and with the proper ID they can view these items otherwise they go back into the vault.Nothing is happening, it is a dead and cold case the FBI has neither the time nor inclination to waste valuable assets on. It makes a great book and movie, but is worthless other wise. [ /reply] My stuff is the bold. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Your two military records (I was the one that asked you about this before and you said you didn't have any such forms then) for Duane Webber Petty Crook and life long Criminal do not have enough "Time in Service" for him to have received any form of Paratrooper training. BUT A con man could have used a little history and reading ability to make it seem like he had received such training, up until he had to "prove" it. Proper signals on student jumps after solo status?
matthewcline replied to Skydog73's topic in Instructors
As another side tidbit - I found that "practice touches" was often misunderstood/forgotten. So now I have the student teach me the signals in all review sessions. I find retention has gone up a great deal when they form the signals with their hands during review... You see their brain churn as they try to remember then it clicks. Great Idea! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Sorry, the bold question in the very beginning where I called her out for telling me she had no records of Duane's Military record and this week she does. it would put and end to or confirm his Paratrooper training and experience. In the US they are not required by USPA or two of the three manufacturers, but it is not enforced, so I guess it is not mandatory. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I needed to know if I had the number correct and when and where it was sent from - you answered that question and I need to know were it was post marked from...very very important.. Robert Stated: [reply the number "35608905" is probably Duane's Army serial number during World War II. As you have also previously indicated, the number "283-56-96" is probably Duane's Navy serial number I edited you statement just to make it short. I have both the Army and the Navy number and they are as above. I have the military papersYou said to me you did not have any of this stuff before why have it now? - remember that I was the one who had to PROVE to the FBI Duane was actually in the Army at Camp Siebert. Only after I put up resistance and produced proof did they acknowledge he was ever in the army. Letter written home to Mom. A government form showing he was in the army but WITHOUT and discharge date. Then the FBI provides a discharge date - yet when I first went to records there WAS NO discharge date......????????? Now the official records have been altered to agree with the FBI....I say altered because when I was sitting in the local VA office the Army record came up CLASSIFIED/ ACCESS DENIED. I have told this story before so I won't repeat it in its entirety. The FBI had NO idea I had already been to the VA office. They had NO knowledge of my visit with the VA. SO I caught more discrepancies in the story they wanted me to believe. I have done all of the steps before and after my talking to the FBI and I have told this story over and over before. I do not know how to explain to you the sequence of numbers but I did it several ways and the odd man out was the 7's. Then I looked at the placement of the 7's and realized they were the turners (I do NOT know what coders call these things so forgive my ignorance). The first 7 is followed by 698. this give you 96 and 89. The second 7 step back for the number 2 and forward for the 35 in reverse. Using the 7's as turners you have Duane's Navy # and his Army number. Remember zeros do not count in the code. 35608905 35 is the first but on the code 35 is reversed on the end. 89 is the being of the second set with the 0 being the turner making it 98. The second 0 is another turner followed by 5 pick up the five and take foruward and that give you 35. You can do this with both serial numbers with the 7 as turners in the 7698QA2753 and 0 as the turners in the army number. QA is simple Question/Answer? He is presenting the Answer to who he is and challenges them with Quest to figure it out. OKAY none of this will make any sense to anyone but me - I will be accused of grabbing for straws, but if I ever saw that group of numbers (or Code) sent to the FBI - I might have been having a Brain Fart day and this may be by far the biggest STINK I ever made. When I saw it I felt like I had seen it and it had been explained to me. Now EVEN I think I am delusional. IT is like the other day when I was posting about N.Orleans - I suddenly remember something I had NOT been able to remember in all of these yrs - it had to do with why we were in N.Orleans and where we were going. This again involved someone who was high up the food chain - I did NOT think too much about Duane's involvement with certain individuals...but, I didn't really know who they were until I started investigating all of this Crap. My being 17 yrs younger than Duane - is why I have lived long enough to find the pieces. The puzzle I keep putting together fits to well and only a few of the piece are forced. Maybe someone was chewing on them and warped them a little. So they actually fit, but feel forced. Whatever! Some of you guys worked coding in the 60's and 70's - try using your knowledge the way I did common sense. Forget the coding post 1971 - only that used pre 1971. The guys in prisons (state and military) set up pretty elaborate ways of communicating with each other that went over the heads of the guards. Prisoner of war were very astute at figuring out how to communicate in code. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Stick to the Standardized AFF type hand signals all the way through and things should be fine. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
The Students rip cord/drogue release is permanently affixed to the Instructor's right leg strap near the front to mimic the Students hand position for a BOC. And that is exactly how Bill explained it location and purpose when sitting in his office with him several years ago. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Full story: http://www.wbaltv.com/r/28595846/detail.html So if a robber fires a warning shot to scare his victims into submission, his cost of doing "business" goes up by $1. I don't think that's going to serve as much of a deterrent. On the other hand, people who participate in legitimate recreational shooting, firing a hundred or more rounds in a session, will no longer be able to afford to shoot. Since most rifle ammo now costs $1 per round, adding a $1 per round tax on top of that, effectively doubles the price of ammo for lawful shooting sports. Hey if it would deter the idiots in Washington from sending the military off to dumb ass wars so the can transfer our countrys wealth to their top campaign contributors in the Military Industrial Complex.. I would support it... Sadly, it doesn't. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Sad to see, that here, a majority are thinking they are just cash cows. Even the Student Harness for a SIGMA system says "Student" (in an abbreviation, I know). Treat them as a Student as it should be and we will see more stay in the sport. Some are gonna just check the bucket list and move on, but that treatment as a Student has turned a few from one timers to life timers! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. military parachute clubs
matthewcline replied to bloody_trauma's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
As a Former Mil T-I, club member and NCOIC of a Team, I have had a bit of dealings with the DoD Regs that these things end up being operated under. Plus you will get the additional Navy Regs applied too. A "Tandem Operation Welcome Home" (like so many DZ's near Mil Posts sort of have) may be more marketable if a Commander sees one in operation at it's home DZ. OR is one can be brought in "lock, stock and Barrel". The big hurdle lots of AVN CDR's balk over is a Civi on the A/C and Liability. They even fight when a retiree gets on a plane to help the Mil Unit! Now of course that I have been the "Negative Nelly" I do wish you luck and success with the idea. I know the program I started took three DZ's before it was able to actually work and still runs today. So your idea will work eventually with your efforts! Oh yes. I'd cut military spending until it was only twice as much as the next largest spending nation (China) instead of 6 times as much. I'd cancel every military program favored by a politician that the Pentagon actually didn't want, too. And every state that receives more in federal spending than it generates in federal revenues would be cut back until spending = revenues. Might cause some whining in the red states, though. Sadly that makes sense, so it won't ever be used. The POTUS also may be off on the VA checks, aren't they a 24 months budget cycle? Matt Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Did you say that backwards? Did you really mean: 2-out not needed Single canopy needed? If not, would you please explain your reasoning for saying it's needed in some 2-out situations and why it wouldn't be needed in a 1-out? Or, maybe I just read the entire post wrong. I think Phree means in a Two Out Situation it is some times needed to Release the RSL, and in a single canopy it is not needed (Normally) to release the RSL. At least that is how I read it.
