In a counter to my statement he needed more staff on per shift to counter the delay in service, that he agreed, but he had on as many as he could afford. He did say he could put more on during the rushes if he could cut them loose in the slow times. But then he wouldn't have a staff very long, since they want 20 to 40 hours a week (PT an FT of course). He says he cuts as many cost as he can, using generic paper products instead of the logo stuff, local shopping club purchased condiments, etc. But he did say that with the economy still being so poor, he had actual Bachelor Degree in Business Management, degree holding Managers and Assistant Managers! There are a couple of flaws with that scenario. First, if Cooper was a regular jumper at Issaquah, it's very possible someone from that place would have recognized him from the sketch. And didn't the FBI question people from there? Second, if he had tossed out the X reserve, where is it now? Absolutely nothing has been found except the placard, the Tena Bar money, and the Amboy chute. (Two of three linked to hijacker) Sure it's possible it hung in a tree, or just hasn't been found. But since neither has a body, the remainder of the money, or the other chute been found....as time goes by the odds lean toward a safe landing and maybe a burial of the chute(s). There's no way to tell for sure, of course. Maybe as some say, he went into Lake Merwin or the Columbia. But I don't think Cooper hung out at Issaquah. If the "X" chute was still "contained" it would have burned in pretty quickly and probably made it to the ground. Hiding it from most any one who didn't actually step on it. Then even made of man made materials the exposure would probably reduced it to it hard components by now. IF, he was "trained" he would have kept the bag in place though out the landing as per the Standards for Rough Terrain Jumping. Lower the bag to hear the impact to prep for landing is a bit of a hit or miss "old wives tale", "urban legend". The lowering lines in the military and Forestry service are approximately 15', the rate of decent in 18' to 22' per second. You would have less than a second to react, your supposed to be prepared around 100', so you have about 4.5 seconds. Can one hear the impact? Sure, some do. Can some react to it? Sure some do, but it is a rarity. It is not even taught now a days, it is water cooler talk. If one made a rough terrain jump, and lowered the equipment as they drifted over the trees, the bag could catch or entangle, the parachute would continue to drift, and the jumper would be laid out horizontally from the bag to the canopy. This is dangerous to recover from. Jumpers are taught to keep all equipment on, for their protection as the pass through the trees! If they did lower the equipment prior to passing through the trees, they would jettison the gear to avoid the horizontal issue. I think the Felon may have had some training, but it was old and out of date, hence the old chute choice. I also don't think the bag of money was prepared for anything other than being carried all the way to the ground on the jumper. Based on the feet of cord used, it seems the Felon tied a sturdy knot or dozens and used a few wraps to hold the bag in place, but not enough was cut to make a lowering line or self extraction line. Don't most permits have some kind of processing fee? As to the Building/free standing wall, I see the difference and thing I could back the concept of the protest being on a free standing wall.
