  1. If someone was hurting a loved one would you try to talk him/her into a calm state or would you react with a knock out punch?Quote Can I answer that? History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  2. No way...we'll feed the fuglies to Turtle!Quote I thought turtles were vegetarians, are fuglies organic?? Well I'll be the first to share, my date tonight has a best friend that tags along everywhere, you can have her, hope you like black girls History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 3. is leaving after his next fight. Randy left. I guess we'll see whos next. Did you know tito has only received $200,000 for his last few fights? they made millions, hundreds of million off him and 200,000 is all he got. (I'm sure he got some bonus' but 200,000 is insulting for someone who is in his league.) Quote Actually Tito recieved 1.5M for his second Liddell fight from what I understand, I think I heard that directly from him. That's just one case though, like Tito and Randy both said, it's not about the money it's about the respect. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 4. No amount of words should ever drive a man to strike a woman, no matter how drunk he is, as for whether you can consider it a one time thing, thats something that only those who know both parties can decide. If the woman just goes to her friends and says she's been hit her friends will only tell her to leave him. The advice needs to come from someone who knows both and knows what it was that sparked the incident, every man has a hot button that will cause a not so pretty reaction if you hit it, I'll never condone striking a woman but for some guys that one thing is so sensitive that physical recourse is what it causes. Looking at the way the guy carries himself after he realizes what he's done can tell you a lot when it comes to determining if that will ever happen again. If he looks like he's so dissapointed in himself that he can barely look himself in the mirror than you can probably take it to the bank that it won't happen again. 5. You know I was watching this thing come out on the news last night and everyone agreed that the Times is hitting an all new low, even Dems who have led panels investigating him agreed that whether or not they agree with his policy he is an honest, decent man. Nobody said "yeah we no he did it but we didn't have the evidence to prove it", everyone agreed that this is BS and McCain doesn't deserve this. 6. BTW, it was nearly impossible to watch LA TV a few days ago because all normal programming was interrupted for hour after tedious hour of video of some cop's funeral procession. Don't forget to bow as the chariot passes . . . . Quote So you're trying to tell us that you are so short sighted to let a story of one dirty cop inspire you to insult a slain officer who very well could have been killed trying to save someones life. that's truly pathetic History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 7. I'll lick his head any time of the day...both of 'em! That man is a genius seeing what he's done to promote UFC. Quote The man is a slimy asshole who is alienating all his biggest name fighters and turns his back on his loyal "employees". Dana White needs to go. 8. 5th round sub or tkoQuote Hendo only has one submission victory on his resume and Silvahas proven that he can eat a well-known submission artist for lunch. I'll stick with the KO or TKO History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

December, it's so much easier this way History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  11. It's going to be SUCH a great fight! I'm thinking Silva will win it, though. I'm actually looking forward to many of the fights that night. I wish I would've gone to it (I went to the other two in Ohio and had SO much fun.) Quote I don't know, my little internal fight predictor is pulling hard for Hendo, if Silva should somehow pll this off it is going to be by decision because the judges put more of an emphasis on strikes and not takedowns and ground control. I was the only person out of everyone I know who called Mir to win, I called Gonzaga over Cro Cop, GSP over Hughes, I've been on a roll this year. I predicted parts of the Liddell/silva fight right but missed on the outcome. I think Dan is just a very bad matchup for Silva stylistically, he has what it takes to nuetralize Silva's strengths, especially the bulletproof chin On a different UFC topic, I've been catching all the early news and in case you guys and gals haven't heard, Chuck is in line to take on Mauricio, that's a big order for both those men, Wandy is being offered a fight against Jardine but is holding out to decide whether or not he wants to drop down to middleweight. I have a crazy feeling the outcome of this fight is going to carry a lot of weight in that decision and open the door for Hendo/Wany III. Plus with Sherk comin off of suspension that one is going to be good, and the rematch with GSP and Serra(by Matt) sold out in 20 minutes, that's gonna be huge. 12. LoL!!! I don't think the general public would be thrilled to see us two superficial bitch team up to pick up gullible chicks at the bar. Oh wait, you do share right? You keep the fuglies and I'll take the hot stupid ones! Quote We'd make one hell of a crime fighting duo!!! I'm not too keen on that who I get the fugly ones idea though, here we'll make it easy, I get all the asians and you can help yourself to the rest. 15. We're 1 week away from the next UFC so I figured it was time to kick this one up. This fight has really interested me, Silva the new big thing in the middleweight division who is considered by many to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world against Hendo, a champion whose ability transcends weght classes(just ask Wanderlei, Sobral, Nogueira, etc. etc.). Starting with Silva, he is on a 5 fight win streak, he's undefeated in the octagon, he's walked through Leben, outstruck Franklin and submitted Lutter. His strikes have pinpoint accuracy, and insane speed, one thing they do lack however is one punch knockout power, Silva doesn't end fights with one punch, he picks people apart with a series of strikes utilizing all of his weapons. His ability to utilize the clinch is top-notch and considered by many to be second to none, he grabs the back of his opponents head and picks them apart with knees, Rich Franklin was defenseless from this position. His takedown defense isn't too bad, I wouldn't rank it up there with the likes of Chuck or Penn but he can stay on his feet if he wants against most opponents. Once on the ground he has a very underrated BJJ game, he holds a black belt under Minotauro, who probably has one of the top, if not THE top BJJ pedigrees in the sport, so coming up under that man will solidify anyones ground game. Two places we have not seen Sliva tested however, we have never seen him go into the championship rounds, so thus far no one knows exactly how deep this guys gas tank is, another place he hasn't been touched, his chin. Silva's head movements are insane, I'm sure all the hardcore UFC fans will remember when he dropped his hands against Rich and just started dodging shots, didn't try and cover up, just taunted Rich. He moves very effectively and is therefore very hard to hit, we haven't seen someone really give him a good chin check yet, so that is definitely suspect. Overall Silva is one hell of a standup fighter who creates an awkward dilema for anyone who squares up with him, he has an unparalleled Muay Thai game and his BJJ is spot on, Franklin is a top notch stirker but Silva just does everything Franklin does better, Silva has the tools to stay on top of the pack for a long time. Looking at Hendo, his striking ability has definitely come a long way since his early bouts against the likes of Carlos Newton, Dan isn't known for throwing laser beams straight down the pipe like GSP, but his haymakers and overhand rights are packed with TNT. He can put a mans lights out with a left jab(Wanderlei!). Looking at this from a purely striking standpoint this is what most people would call the classic boxer vs puncher matchup. Henderson doesn't have a Muay Thai clinch per se, but he is a VERY seasoned Greco-Roman wrestler, and anyone who knows a thing or two about Greco-Roman guys will tell you that their ability to control an opponent in the clinch is second to none. that style of wrestling focuses on the upper body body control, so once it reaches this point Dan is well versed. Looking at his takedowns, I seriously doubt Silva has anything to offer that wouldforce Dan to reach into his takedown defense aresnal, on the other hand, Henderson's takedown ability is unparalleled, once again he will decide where the fight is fought or lost. Once on the ground Hendo isn't really known for a strong BJJ game, he might not be the best submission guy in the game but his submission defense is finely tuned. Only two me in his entire career have slipped a submission on this man, and both their names happen to end in Nogueira, and both of them ave a distinct size advantage. I wouldn't consider a submission loss to either of those men to be a knock on anybody. Henderson will also have the ability to control the position on the ground, his wrestling skills have nuetralized the submission games of Carlos Newton, Minotauro(in their first fight), Renato Sobral, and Renzo Gracie to name a few. Dan the man also posseses a chin that is made out a material as to you can get to titanium, he has NEVER been knocked out or TKO'd, Rampage admitted after their battle that Dan's face beat up his hands, he hit Dan with more shots than any human being should be able to endure and couldn't stop him, in 2 meetings Wanderlei has never been able to knock him out either. Dan has also displayed his conditioning in the later rounds and has shown he can go the distance. In 28 pro bouts Dan Henderson has defeated a who's who in the world of MMA, has never been knocked out, and has only been submitted by two of the top submission fighters in the world, he is largely unerestimated in every fight he goes into and my opinion on his loss to Rampage is that he asn't used to fighting in the cage, Quinton never "scored" a takedown, it was always Dan giving it up by tripping on the fence and not knowing how to effectively use it yet. So in striking, we have a somewhat even matchup, they have different styles which are both equally as dangerous and Dan happens to be one of the only people in the divison who isn't afraid to go toe to toe with Silva, which could work either way. Silva's big weapon in the clinch is going to basically be completely nuetralized by Henderson, this is the area where all the big Silva fans think the fight is going to end, but I see an Olympic Greco-Roman resume that says otherwise. Silva has yet to show us his ability to scramble to get back to his feet when put down so unless he has something up his sleeve Henderson is going to decide when the fight goes to the ground and how long it stays there. Once on the ground Silva's BJJ is basically going to be silenced by Dan's dominance, and strength. And if this fight goes the distance we can only assume that it is going to work in Dan's favor, unless something goes bad with Dan's weight cutting, but this is his normal weightclass so that shouldnt be an issue. In the end I think Dan's iron chin, heavy hands, dominance in the clinch and submission defense are going to pull it out. I'm going to go with Henderson by KO late in the 4th. However this thing unwinds its going to be a war, Dan has aready solidified himself as a future hall of famer and a legend in the sport, Anderson is just the next test to prove why he is a top 3 worlwide ranked fighter. 20. For health reasons there are strict rules about adopting pets in combat zones, but despite the rules quite a few units out there adopt local dogs and give them decent care. A few soldiers have even managed to get their pets home. I had a handful of puppies I took care of in Baghdad a few years back, they were too scared to go near any person after being abused by the Iraqis for so long it took me weeks just to get them to approach me. They don't like dogs in the part of the world, its a shame History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  21. What? I've seen loads of drunk guys go for the bouncers in clubs. I've never seen one succeed, but they definitely try. Quote The club I worked at typically had a slightly better group of people that went there, I just lucked out in that arena. For us the only time the bouncers ever took a shot from a man was when we just got caught in the cross fire, we never had anyone intentionally come after us. We held ourselves to a very high standard with our conduct towards the customers as well, I'm sure this played a part in how easy the customers were to work with. 22. Really? Then why is the phrase "oh shit its the cops" so popular?Quote Funny, I don't remember ever hearing that line from someone unless they were doin something wrong. Maybe if you wouldn't hang out with people that break the law regularly that line wouldn't be so popular now would it? 23. a badge has become less about protecting people and more about intimidation. Quote No, the media just drools over stories like this and the 1% of the police officers who make the concious decision to beat someone who is in handcuffs senselessly get all the attention. Having a badge hasn't changed one bit, the bad ones just get all the attention, when was the las time you heard a sotry on the news about how a cop risked his life to save a small child, I can't remember, doesn't mean it doesn't happen just as often as incidents like this. I also agree 100% with what 1888 said, drunken women are horrible to deal with when they need to be restrained, I used to work as a bouncer and anytime I had to break up a fight between a couple of men it didn't matter how much they hated each other they never took it out on the bouncers when we stepped in, they respected the authority and acted reasonably towards us at least. Women on the other hand, when I had to break up their fights were impossible to deal with, they would kick and scream and spit and turn their anger on us, I can't count how many times I've been punched by a girl and couldn't do a thing to stop it, I wasn't supposed to put my hands on them in any capacity so I would just stand their between them and eat the punches. I don't condone this officers actions, but there may be a very good chance that she provoked him, doesn't make it right, but she most likely made the situation worse. 24. You should edit the title to reflect that he is now an ex-officer, portraying him as still being part of the force will only serve to cast a negative light on the rest of his department, which accoding to the article fired him due to the incident.
