  1. Exactly. For years, Fermat's Last Theorem was unproven. And yet entire branches of math were based upon it. If it had been proven wrong, these branches (which wer being used in a variety of ways to prove OTHER theories) would have been worthless. Being a theory (especially scientific ones) just means that it has not been proven for ALL cases. Usually though, it has been proven for many specific cases. 2. Only that they call it factual. Actually check the US stats on crime, incarceration, poverty, and such and get back to us on how close what they say is to reality. Here is just one example from the FBI crime release: "An estimated 93,433 forcible rapes occurred in the Nation during 2003." I see their numbers were just a little off. There may be a anti-USA slant for sure, but they got many of the numbers from our own government(ignoring the Iraqi stuff and opiniion stuff like racism -- which we know does exist anyway, in any country). 3. Ah, I have not seen the specs. I just said it was interesting from the ad. What model is it? I want to go check it out. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  4. GOA CCRKBA SAF Those pyschos in the "militias." The people who are the most obnxious and don't belong to any group. ps - I had a comment like Dave's, but he beat me to it. pps - I'm also a first, fourth, ninth, and tenth amendment loudmouth. I am pretty sure he meant, and quade can point out if I am wrong, that groups such as that are not a more powerful lobby than the NRA. It may be that the NRA is not that big, but they have the lobbying power to be reckoned with. Therefore, the gun advocates that are actually heard, AND LISTENED TO, belong to the NRA. 5. Man I am glad I read your post! I was just about to google sources for all that stuff myself, but you posted it first.
  6. The education systems of America differs greatly from many other countries. For the most part, many of us in the US did not know what we wanted to do until even our second or third year of university. We are also usually in secondary school until 18. This is in opposition to my some of my friends in England, who, after secondary school, were in Sixth Form to focus what they wanted to do before going to a University. 7. It does not matter if it IS China saying it. She was saying that the last line, which states that America has problems and should fix them before trying to fix everyone else's, is a good idea. I agree. America may be a great country to many people but it does not negate the facts that we have many murders, plenty of poverty, and every growing incarcerations without any attempt at rehabilitation (many of which are for non-violent crimes). I love living in the US, but to imply that we don't have problems just because it is China that points them out is ludicrous. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  8. Yeah, that is the first page that opened when I threw down the magazine. That camera looks very interesting indeed. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  10. No shit. Illium was the first I read of him and it was amazing. The guy can genre hop like nobody's business. I finished The Fall Of Hyperion and am on Endymion. I read fast as it is, but damn, I impressed myself there. I read Fall in about a day and a half!! Okay, done patting myself on the back.... Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. 20. Sorry, Alana, but I found that book to be far less than the hype leads one to expect. It's repetitive, boring, and reads like a movie script. The characters are not developed well, and the plot is weak. It brings very little new to the table, and I, for one, wish I hadn't spent the money on this book (and that's a rare wish...) Oh well. Ciels- Michele I like the book for what it was. A work of fiction. However, my enjoyment was diminshed by the fact that Dan Brown has claimed it is based on real and factual documents and events that never happened. Anyway, I am reading "The Fall Of Hyperion" by Dan Simmons. Read this series. It is simply amazing. Dan Simmons is quite good. "Illium" is also a great book...interesting take on the events of the Illiad. But wait till summer to read it. The next book does not come out till then!!! Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. 21. Getting a hard on without wanting it is certainly possible. Physical arrousal does not automatically equate to mental arousal. Just because your mind does not want it, does not mean your body will not respond. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  22. I suspect that if he's talking about the idiots attempting to redefine Pi as a constant, he probably is representing the majority view. Pi IS a constant(at least in Euclidean geometry). The value of pi does not change. What they are redifining it as is the WRONG constant. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  23. I am exactly the same way. I started sitflying in a bigger rig and no suit. I only had about 15 jumps that way, but my sit was pretty stable (albeit backsliding like a mofo). Then I got a smaller rig. And I found out that I was using the bigger rig as support. Then I got a freefly suit. Now, it takes me a little while to get my feet down and stay there. I have found that going into a stand for asecond then back to a sit helps. I know it is going to take me longer to learn with the suit, but since I bought it, I am just going to be patient. I am in no hurry.
  24. While I do not think that it is the job of police to protect me as an invidual, in this case it is the simple fact that by not arresting the father, who violated the restraining order, the police BROKE THE LAW in Colorado. That is it, pure and simple. Seems to me that it is not about protection, it is about the fact that the cops did not follow a law specifically designed for them. 25. My guess is that is that he was joking. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
