  1. No wonder I could find nothing about MINIMUM wage. I guess the idea is that since they can do it cheaper, contractors will work faster? Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  2. Actually, you are probably correcte with saying maths. Think about it: Math is the short term for Mathematics. Do we saying I am studying Mathematic? No, because Mathematics is a generic term for many different areas of study. The English say maths. And while I usually argue about things like chips, crisps, and favour, this is one where I think they are correct. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  3. A CURSORY look at cnn.com reveals nothing. Neither did a quick google search. But like i said, my search was very shallow. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  4. That would be interesting. Except it has been reported that refineries are running at full capacity for quite some time. In other words, they lied if this inquiry comes out true. I have no problem if they want to run lower capacity. There is nothing that says a company has to produce its max it can, but if they are lying about it....that is where I have the problem. I was just reading an interesting analysis of this issue. I will try to sum it up: If refineries are running at full capacity, then there is a FIXED amount of gas being produced. Therefore, the price of gas goes up. However, since the bottleneck is produced at the refinery stage, the demand for crude SHOULD go down (and so should then the price of crude) because oil companies are already running at full capacity and have no need for more crude than they already have. And yet, crude prices are rising. you could argue that it is because oil is running out. However, the Saudi oil minister himself said that the problem is not LACK of oil, but the lack of ability to produce the finished product in great enough quantities. So, if crude prices are rising, then demand for that crude is high. So, oil companies must have a driving need for more crude. Which implies that lack of refineries is not the problem. If the refinery is not the problem, then we certainly cannot blame it on the enviromentalists. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  5. What constitutes many? My DZ requires an AAD, not a cypres specifically. Thats right, they changed that rule to allow a Vigil too. Wait. what? We require AADs, not just cyprus or vigil. At least that is what the note said in the hanger and what the website says. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  6. Me too. But I don not have a problem believing some of it...even the part about bad cops. They DO exist. And the situation was a bit crazy. In crazy situations, crazy shit happens. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  7. Actually, the "author" only said that what was false was his authorship. he DID say it was the experience of other people...EMTs who wrote it. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  9. Yeah, we shoulda stayed the heck out of WWII. It wasn't our darn problem. To heck with the lend-lease of military goods to England and France. To heck with American involvement with troops and equipment. Let Hitler take over and rule Europe for eternity. Who gives a shit about them! American arms are evil!!! That made absolutely no sense in the context of what he said. Military aid != arms exporting - get that straight. WWII != selling arms to morally questionable countries. Nor does WWII have to do with ANYTHING Bush says today. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  10. I don't need to.... I ship hazardous material for most of the major oil companies. I know EXACTLY what capacity those plants run at (unlike many who think because they found something on Google that it is research). Well there it is. I guess we should just accept your anecdotal opinion without question than to accept thousands of credible sources who disagree with you. - I took a short look through that google link. I see many Op-ed pieces. The one from Fox news that is NOT op ed, says that DESPITE envirmentalists, a new refinery is going to be built. I've not commented on what we are going to do in the future, just the past. The economic pressure is too great for the environmentalists to be as effective in winning public opinion as they have in the past so I would expect we will see more refineries built in the future. I hope we don't get distracted and think this is a panacea. We need to develp alternatives as quickly as possible. What kind of source would you accept? - It is not what sources I would accept. I believe that enviromental concerns HAVE had SOME effect on building new refineries. But I also think that the NIMBY's make a bigger stink. No one wants a refinery in their yard...envirmentalist or not. Regardless, I was merely pointing out that the list of sources your provided are not all what I would call credible. Many were just opinion pieces. Here is the thing: If oil companies are currently running at sub capacity as the article in this thread says is being investigated, the cries of "Its all the enviromentalists fault" is quickly made moot. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  13. Please tell me you are trying to stir it up a little and that you don't really mean that... One word: Anwar Anwar. That is a DROP in the oil bucket. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  14. No, "Oil" companies make money by providing energy. BP owns quite a few solar farms and sells solar products. Alternative does not necessarily mean loss of profit. Quite the contrary, if we are truly running out of oil, it would be in an "oil" company's best interest to find ways to keep control of the energy market. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  15. I agree. But I was thinking of research into better ways to produce oil or using the money to build refineries. And actually, I figure most of the money from profit is not going to that anyway. Instead it is being given as salary or reinvested...in what, I have no idea. All I know is that the high profits they keep posting belies any sort of "crisis" they would have us believe. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  16. No, I think both are just as at fault. Even with the tax, companies are still having record profits. So neither the government nor the gas companies are doing research very well apparently with the money they are receiving. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  17. All you have to look at is the RECORD profits of oil companies to see what the deal is. What do you think the Oil Companies will do with those profits? - Buy some books. Probably some nice Grisham novels. Seriously, the option would be to reinvest in new capital. Or research. However, the astounding profits have been around for quite some time, yet prices in gas climbs higher with little "give back" shown by the companies. As I see it, it is time for me to get some stock. Can I blame them entirely/ No, we, as consumers, do nothing to halt them from it. We bitch and complain, but stay the course and pay their higher prices. But if those higher prices are falsely created by artificially reducing capacity, there is a problem. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  19. Wait so you are saying that if I live in a city and find a good job there and a good life, someone else may live in that city and be poor and downtrodden? that is nuts. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  20. Well there you have it. All you need to do is file a lawsuit against Bush and he will change the law. I guess you will have to file a suit against all members of Congress to since they are by definition complicit. Please let us know how your suit works out because to not file one, by definition means you approve. In fact the entire ABA is also guilty since they have allowed this to continue for many, many years. Please PM me after you win the suit. - my problem has nothing to do with selling of arms. We have done it, are doing it, and will do it for years. It is big business and that is how we roll. No, my problem is that Bush EXPLICITELY states that we are fighting tyranny and evil while this goes on. He takes a high moral road that we have no right to really walk. And I think that is a fundamental issue to many people. Bush often expounds upon (or I should say, repeats one idea over and over) one ideal: that we are right and GOOD. And that good is touted as the "absolute" good, not as a relative good as it would apply to America's interests. There is a distinct disparity between the way we act in the world and the way he portrays us. I think that disparity is a great cause of problem. Is he the only politician to do this? Hell no. Does he take it to a greater extreme? In my opinion, yes. regardless of that, as I have said, arms dealing is not Bush's fault. He did not start it and he is not going to stop it. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  21. I dunno, maybe you really can't see the hypocrisy of spouting crap like "ending tyranny in our world" whilst at the same time selling shitloads of weapons to questionable regimes, but it seems pretty fucking obvious to me. Ah, yes...it's been happening for decades but it's all Bush's fault, damn him!!! Time to make a new tinfoil hat, Crozby...the mind rays are obviously getting through that one! Honestly, he does have a point. He has not said it was all Bush's fault. And Bush DOES make blanket statements about fighting evil and ending evil, and smiting evil, beating up evil's mom, kicking evil's dog, and all that stuff while we sell arms to all sorts of people. Bush is not the beginning of weapons dealing, but he certainly tries to act like he is the opposite of what we ACTUALLY do. What bush SHOULD say is "We will fight tyranny and oppression...if it coincides with the interests of America..and even then, we may be morally abivelent about it." It is what we have been doing for years. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  22. Are they...EVIL? evil doers perhaps? Yes, every nation that has been sold arms by our manufaturers has been the BASTION of good and happiness. In fact, the only reason we sell the weapons is to spread love and sunshine. That is total crap. Stop buying into the rhetoric. We have been selling arms to other nations FOR YEARS and I got news for ya, alot of them were/are not so great. America does not always fight a good/evil battle. Often, we fight a "what is good for America" battle. Not everything is split so easily into good vs evil, no matter what politicians like to say.. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
  23. On a purely prose critical level, those books are someo of the most poorly written I have ever read. Bad dilogue, weak characters, preaching, and overall bad writing. They could have EASILY written about the horrors of the Tribulation with defined religious overtones that were subtle but surely there; instead, by the 80th page of the first book, I have already been bludgeoned in the face by preaching. On a relgious level: Llets not get started on the fact that these "men of God" made a TON of cash interpreting the bible as they see fit. If I want to read about the Rapture and Tribulation, I will stick to the free version. bleh. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

  25. um, when I'm freeflying a sit exit like you describe, the relative wind is not at your back if you're front float (which I assume is facing rearwards?). It's actually coming up at 45 degrees. This is because the plane is still moving forward, and you're moving with it as you exit. When you combine this with the fact that you're stepping off the plane (so the relative wind is coming up at you), you get a 45 degree relative wind. 45 degrees? But the plane is moving horizontally. The wind immediately out the door is coming from the front. At least, when I exit rear float, I jump out in my sit so that I am facing the ground -- my body is parallel to the earth. I can see how 45 could work if you have some control already because it is so close, but that does not seem to be in absolute relative wind out the door to me. When I used to do 4way, we always tried to present towards the wing with our chests -- I would think the same would apply with my feet or whatever I want into the relative wind. Not criticizing, but I don't understand the 45 degree thing. What am I missing? Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.
