Here is an interesting timeline. I have only glanced over it (I am tired and want to go to sleep) so please correct where it is wrong, but it seems a "State of Emergency" was asked for by the State BEFORE the levee broke: http://www.thinkprogress.org/katrina-timeline And yes, the site is Bush bashing (and feel free to correct if it says he was doing something he was not). Please ignore that and focus on the fact that on Saturday, the governor asked for a Declaration of Emergency and yet FEMA slacked off. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Because, ultimately, in the history of politics, they are the ONLY ones to ever do it. please. All this left right bullshit has really got to stop. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

I only want to respond to this portion. According to gallup, President bush's approval rating for August 22 -25 is 40%. For the 25-28, it is 45%. Yes, it is up, but that still makes those who approve (and take his word as gospel as you implied) the minority. And even if it gets to 51%, that is not a majority to be proud of. Here is more from Fox (to combat anyone who wants to say that Gallup is biased or something): FOX News/Opinion Dynamics Poll. Aug. 30-31, 2005. N=900 registered voters nationwide. MoE ± 3. LV = likely voters . "Do you approve or disapprove of the job George W. Bush is doing as president?" Approve Disapprove Unsure 8/30-31/05 45 50 5 7/26-27/05 47 44 9 7/12-13/05 47 47 6 And lastly, here is another site: http://americanresearchgroup.com/economy/ Sorry, but most polls, by a variety of sources, agree that his approval is on the lower end of the spectrum. Now, if you are someone who happens to be friends with a lot of Bush supporters, then your own pollmay be skewed a tad. Now, as for this NO thing, I believe the smart person realizes that is a breakdown of ALL government, not just Bush. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

College Football forces out victims for tourists
GTAVercetti replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
I said they should cancel the game. He said in his sweet way - "surely they will listen to you". Compassionate man that Billvon. He is ready to throw out these homeless people for a football game. That's how his post came across to me. He is more concerned about the almighty $ than these poor homeless people. How NICE is that!!! j I have NOT A CLUE how you got that. What I got is him being a realist. If the hotel chains (who, reasonably, have give a lot of revenue to the city) cannot get football to stop, why would you think that you could? Yes, it would be the best choice. Will you make it happen? Doubtful. If you do, I commend you. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing. -
Why do so many people (not just you GTA) have such unrealistic expectations of a human being? You expect Bush to work 24/7/365...IMPOSSIBLE. He needs rest, just like you, me and everyone other living thing on Earth. So, based on your opinion, we're all lazy asses because we come home at night and take off the boots for a while, or GASP, take time away. If you don't do those things, your body won't recharge and you're doomed. To be physically and mentally healthy, you need breaks, you need rest, and if that break is doing some yardwork (oh by the way, the SAME yardwork that all of us "lazy asses" do...how dare us), then so be it. I don't want Bush sitting in the Oval Office barely able to stay awake. I have no problem with people taking vacations (even presidents). However, if not for this Hurricane, Bush's FIVE WEEK vacation would have been the longest in QUITE some time: "According to an Associated Press count, Reagan spent all or part of 335 days in Santa Barbara over his eight-year presidency -- a total that Bush will surpass this month in Crawford with 3 1/2 years left in his second term." I DO have a job and I don't get NEAR that amount of time off. In fact, people all over the country do jobs that are harder physically and mentally than mine and THEY don't get as much time off as me. Yet, somehow, they survive. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

I'd rather he slept 23 hours a day. I'd like it if all politicians did that. I third that notion. Unfortunately we are stuck. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

From the footage of him cutting the brush and the like, I would consider him more of a doctor who is on call on his vacations. You can say it is a working holiday, but meeting with Lance Armstrong for a fun frolic and bike ride, clearing brush and doing other yard work is not working for his job. It is waiting around for something to happen. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Yes, what he said. Actually, I get the exact same thing, but luckily not from neighbors sans lives. People who first meet me think I am cold and mean. Mostly because I suck at the small talk and so I am quiet and reserved at first. I think just about everyone at my DZ was scared and unsure of me when I first started going there. I just taking a while to warm up is all. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

And here is what I think of your neighbors: busybodies with little to no life of their own. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

I never understand the "he may be wrong, but at least he tried" mentality. Let's say I was in college again. I could TRY to take a master degree physics exam even though I never took physics. And that may get me a better score than the guy who decides not to show up...even if my score is a 15% just for effort. But that is not going to make me pass. There is a CHANCE I could do really great. But if we are basing things on chance, then I am pretty worried. And please, would everyone who loves Bush please PLEASE stop comparing him to Clinton? I may not like Bush that much but that does not mean I was a big fan of Clinton either. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Onion...news in brief: A genie freed from a battered oil lamp by Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia granted the conservative jurist a strict constructionist interpretation of his wish for "a hundred billion bucks" Monday. "Sim sim salabim! Your wish is my command!" the genie proclaimed amid flashes of light and purple smoke, immediately filling the Supreme Court building with a massive herd of wild male antelopes. When Justice Scalia complained that the "bucks" had razed the U.S. Supreme Court building, trampling and killing several of his clerks and bringing traffic in the nation's capital to a standstill for hours, the genie said, "Your honor, your wish is a sacred and unalterable document whose interpretation is not subject to the whims of society and changing social context." Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Not saying that at all.... but the conservatives are definitely having to play catch-up ball.... Oh yes...this is the way we should view politics. The other side is slandering more! WE BETTER STEP OUR MUDSLINGING UP!!! liberals, conservatives(of the strict type), you ALL refuse to see anything that does not fit with your ideology. And if information is given that is actual proof, well, you explain that away to. And if that doesn't work then it is a [left/right] - wing conspiracy. Its the easiest way to debate...and the saddest. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Man, AOL has been ass for years. Like NWFlyer said, its training wheels for morons who can't find their own shit on the web. The best is the AOL for Broadband where you have to buy a broadband connection AND AOL on top. What a waste. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Congrats Jason on his 5th place in the FUCKING WORLD. Nice to have him at our DZ. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Yes, and the Right NEVER does that when they oppose the administration. God, republicans and democrats make me want to vomit. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Just to be devil's advocate...you really need to go by percentage to determine who ismore charitable. Look at a smaller example: If I have 10000 dollars and give you 10%, I still have 9,000 dollars...plenty to pay my rent and perhaps, with wise investing make some capital gains. If I have 1000 dollars though and give you 10%, I have 900 dollars left...which in some cities will not pay rent...and certainly not utilities too. Which one is more charitable? The guy who gives 10% even though it may make it harder to pay rent or the guy who gives 10% and still have plenty to spare? So, yes, the US does give more dollars...but we give more at a lower % because we have more in total. The key here is that France is giving a higher percentage of their total money than us. Do not get me wrong...I think the US gives plenty of money. I just think your argument is a bit flawed. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

a 1.18 loading is not really high, but it certainly not a school bus. I am still having lots of fun on my 170 Spectre even though it needs relined. And I bet if I gave it to some good swoopers to try, they could do some cool stuff with it. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

That game is Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I just bought it not long ago. It is pretty cool. As you lose sanity the gaem does wierd stuff. You might walk into a room and your head falls off. Or the sound on the TV goes mute. Or the screen goes blank. Or the game seems to "reset." I imagine the patent is for the engine. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Just about every one of my gay friends. They all dress better, have better manners, and use more sophisticated hair products than I (I use none). It is a stereotype for certain, but stereotypes are often based in reality. I like good food, love to cook, and I enjoy wine but my gay friends totally outclass me in that stuff most of the time. I think the moustache got the gay rap from the "gay biker bar" sterotype (think the Blue Oyster in Police Academy ) Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Here is a blog I wrote a while ago. I saw a horrible woustache today so I though I would post this and maybe get some answers...or piss people off...whatever: The moustache. It is a valid choice for SOME men. Done properly, it can be quite imposing. Done improperly and you look like my dad in the 70's with his silly Fu-manchu. But we all make mistakes. In anycase, the moustache is not inherently evil. BUT...attach it to the face of a woman and you reveal the evil, insidious WOUSTACHE!!! I am amazed with what I see when I walk around town. Some women obviously don't care. They walk around with nearly a full blown 'stache, oblivious to the fact that they have a small animal growing under their noses. I once saw a women with a moustache AND a beard. Well, good for her. She finally got that lumber jack thing working for her. Maybe it is a style choice. A cultural choice. Whatever. That I can accept. You want to wear a moustache because you don't think you have to shave...fine. I just find it very unattractive. So, you have those women: The bold and brazen who just don't give a fuck. Cool. I respect those who don't give a fuck. But then you have the others. The deceptive, sneaky ones. These are the women who do not possess the ulmighty power of a full moustache but they certainly have more than peach fuzz. The hair is darker than peach fuzz. Oh, it may only be a few hairs so they think they can get by without maintenance. WELL THEY ARE WRONG! We see it. We know about it. And for the most part, we don't like it. Other sly women may dye more growth to blend it in with their skin. To any girls who do this: STOP! The hair is still there. We can still see it. And it is not JUST the look we abhor. It is also the feel. If I wanted to kiss a man, I would go gay. The bad thing about facial hair on women is that it is a very sore subject. With a man, anyone can go up to him and tell him he needs to shave. No feelings get hurt. Unless, of course, the guy is a big pussy. But there is simply no easy way to tell a girl to shave. They take it as a personal assault. And I think that stems from society's conception of hair. Men have body hair; women do not. Well, wake up society. Women DO have body hair. I can hear it now. All sorts of arguments. "We already shave our legs and our armpits. What more do you want?" Well, since many women already spend quite a bit of time doing this as well as makeup, tanning, waxing, body treatments, eye brow plucking, and the like, that little area above you lip is not going to take too much longer. Or perhaps, "Guys don't always shave their face, why should we?" And to that I say, don't. You don't want to shave, then don't. But don't go trying to hide it by bleaching. Wear your woustache proudly dammit. And then I can see the argument that I am giving a very guy-oriented point of view. Well, that is true. Cause I am a guy. And as a guy, I don't like facial hair on women. If that makes me a chauvanist pig, well then oink oink ----------------------------- I follow this up with this: The main culprits of this phenomenon on those who are very particular about grooming. There is one girl I know that insists that bald private parts are the only way to go and is grossed out by anything more...and yet she has a woustache. WHY?!?!

Javelin Odyssey Security Notice in France
GTAVercetti replied to frenchyflyer's topic in Gear and Rigging
What's that supposed to mean? Getting informed of safety issues for US made (British owned) kit isn't the time for xenophobia. No wonder people hesitate to post, with replies like yours....... Bryn Do you understand what means? Everyone definitely hesitates to post on this board. No. Really. I'm serious. Or am I? If they want to ground every rig, fine, but a sticky residue seems to indicate a spill of some kind to me. And it was just one rig (I don't read french so I am relying on what was posted above), that does not seem to warrrant an entire country grounding. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing. -
Yeah, my dad was passed over by the draft because he had metal stitches and all sorts of stuff in his stomach from a nicely placed horse kick. Being a jockey hurts.
