The details of the freefall collision are unclear - collision due to a funnel is the most likely bet that I've heard. The jumper told me that he woke up under an open parachute thinking, "This isn't Ritzville." He was aware enough under canopy to follow other jumpers down and land safely. He appeared to be doing OK today, but decided to stay on the ground for the rest of the boogie. The jumper did have an AAD, but I think having someone like John take care of business for you is a much better scenario.
