It'd be interesting to see more qualifications for people who vote that they are in the negative. My husband and I bought our first home last year so are in the negative a good bit. However, we're paying it off at a rate that we will own the home outright in 10-15 years and do not have any other debt. Definitely a big difference financially compared to a few years ago when I was still a college student and we both had significant debt we were dealing with. We still remember Spencer! He was a very nice man. Definitely an interesting guy - made his own bio diesel before most folks had even heard about it. I recall that he was also running as a libertarian candidate for political office a few months before his accident. I earn about 1 vacation day every 2 weeks and 1 extended illness day each month. Translates into 26 days of vacation/holiday/sick and 13 days that I can use if I stay home sick longer than 3 days. I was able to start using my PTO after 3 months on the job. I think that 2 weeks is pretty piddly, particularly for folks who don't have their family living in the area. With regards to thinning plants... I always used to thin when the plants were in plug trays, but stopped doing that this year with excellent success. When you transplant, handle the seedlings very carefully by holding the leaves, not the stem or roots. You can use something like a butter knife to separate the roots. Some plants do take a long time to germinate, check and make sure you've got the temperatures right. You may also put plastic wrap around the seed tray to keep things moist and humid. I almost made that point on skydiving as well. I have lived in a tent in the past to afford more skydiving, I have left bills unpaid to afford more skydiving, I moved across the country and away from my family to afford more skydiving. There is no question that more people need to just think out of their bubbles in general. The same sort of things you've said about marijuana could be said of a number of other common place things that we consume. Ever purchase a diamond? Legalizing marijuana would unquestionably reduce the violent crimes associated with its production and transport. Legalizing marijuana would also reduce wasteful spending on prisons and could help boost the economy. It would have to be done in an intelligent way, taxing it, prohibiting its import from certain areas, and putting into place laws about consumption/driving, that sort of thing. If my husband and I grew a couple plants, who does that really affect negatively? We grow food in our greenhouse and solarium, will be raising bees for their honey so that we can make mead and will be raising chickens. We got Noah in August. He is a 6 mo. old australian shepherd/husky mix. Then we picked up Zoe two weeks ago. She is almost one year old and we think she might be border collie/great pyrenees. I'm so sorry. There is no question that dogs become valued members of the family. Losing them is a big deal. We lost our buddy Jonah this past August.
