  1. Hi Mitsu, You know you're a Skydiver when (continued), Your filthy rich aunt disowns you from her will to try to get you to quit your evil wicked Skydiving ways!!, Your whuffo wife leaves you for a whuffo,(male, female or transgender for that matter) For the 57th time a whuffo finds out that you "Skydive" and immediately goes into a diatribe about how they'd rather Scuba dive because it's "Safer!" You put up a wind sock above the garage door and carve a skull and cross bones in the front yard with the lawn mower thus declaring your property a "Dropzone!!" You get an old disposed of round canopy and tack it to the ceiling in your den. The girl you're dating gets pissed off because you want to go to the DZ for the "Early Bird Load" instead of taking her to the champagne brunch!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  2. Hi Jim, They're called "Whuffo's!!" Sensible Skydivers wouldn't!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  3. Hi mitsu, You know you're a Skydiver when: You order checks with a skydiving background, You have Skydiving related bumperstickers all over the back of your vehicle, Your wife's sewingmachine is stocked with "E" thread, Over 80% of your clothes are Skydiving T-shirts!, You put the audio from a skydive on your home phone answer machine, Your whuffo friends and co-workers don't believe you when you show up with a "NON-skydiving related injury!!" You sold your golf clubs to help finance your new rig!! When you look down from the Otter at the local Golf course and think,"Wow, look at those guys wasting a perfectly good Sunday afternoon!!!!" There's a sign on the door to the spare bedroom that says,"Para-loft." All your pets have Skydiving related names. ...gotta go for now but you know there's more!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  4. Hi Sandy!!! Great to hear from you!! 007 was asking about you a while back. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  5. Hi Sq, "Fertility symbol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Now that's a good one!! Hmmmm now that you look at it!! Another good line would be that it's a part from the alien space craft that crashed at Roswell NM in 1947!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  6. Hi Cas, Don't wear any "neck" type jewelry any more. Closing pins on a neck chain are most cool. Someone said they saw one on Rachael Ray of the "Cooking Channel" wearing one on her show!! I tend to "beat up" jewelry, all I have is my wedding band and it's full of scratches and dings. All is not lost though! I had a bunch of curved and straight "closing pins" in my Riggers Tool Box so I put one on my key chain along with my old Budweiser can/bottle opener and my VietNam Vintage P-38 C-Rats Can opener! Now and then sombody will ask about it. My buddy Shaun at SPC saw the pins in my tool box and snivled two of them (1 for him and 1 for his girlfriend-she did a tandem jump) the next day he said she really liked it!! Hell, he was grinning like a shit eating 'Oppssum cuz it got him "LAID!!" Amazing what a "closing pin" can do for you!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  7. Hi NP, "Flight of the Valkarie" by Rick Wagner from Apocalypse Now with all the Helo and weapons fire sound track!!!!...Include Rob Duval's commentary. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  8. Hi bill, Funny about chili!! From the bad old daze at old Elsinore (late 60's) all the bars around the Lake had jugs of pickled eggs and pickled pigs feet to eat along with drinking beer. Add this to doing a "Round Robin" start at one bar drink a beer go to the next , drink a beer there and keep going till you make it back to the bar you started at. Top off the night with a steak and eggs breakfast at the "Club Cafe" an all night truck stop up where the free way is now. Dirty Ed and Kevin Donneley would top all that off with a "Bowl of Chili and a rootbeer float!!" That would stew in them and guess what hapened at altitude on the "early bird" Beech 18 load!!!!!!!!! PS Dicky and Marilyn Webb's "Rumbleseat Tavern" was the Skydivers hangout. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

  10. Hi Star, "Hassenfuss??" hmmmm?? Back in the early mid 80's there was a lot of shootin and stuff goin on in cent. america. I think somebody(s) shot dowm a C-130 and took a guy prisoner who bailed out. Hassenfus from Wisc.?? I was working with George "Andy" Andrews at Weber Aircraft in BirdBank on ACES II ejection seat program when it happened Andy was from Wisc and mentioned he was a local from that area?? I remember seeing Hassenfuss's mug on the news being led off into the jungle!! Same Guy or related?? "Southern Air Transport" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi mic, A year ago May, someone threw out a 6 week old grey kitty kinda like yours. I finally caught him and we got him fixed up. As he began to grow his coat became a steel Blue-Grey so my wife named him after Our friend Chucky Blue aka Skymonkey One!! you have a cutie there, wish I could take him/her. This May someone threw out another 6 week old kitten so we now have "5!!!" Cats! I live in a Cat House!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  13. Hi Johnny Yuma!!!!!!, 'Ya got an interesting find there. Photo's look good, I'd have ta' check out the rags ta' see ifn' it's any good?? The hand tacked "V" rings (if they are located just below the Ripcord pocket) sound like they can be really scary!! Otherwise I'd have someone who's been around the Sport for a while to check it out. Go up to Ghoulidge or Eloy and see if you can find Zing or Wierd Wayne. I had an old Southland Skydivers bud "Jim Eskew" who had a rig with sewn on Reserve "D" rings, fortunately he never used them and the main lift webb T/XIII was threaded "Through" the D ring and they were not sewn on the "OUTSIDE" as were on a few early Skydiving fatalities!!! 14. Hi All Just checked the Reno Air Races results and they still haven't posted yesterday (SAT) and definitely not yet today's Top Dog Results. So, I called my bud Doug "Jag Man" and he's sittin down front by section 5 and the run down is Strega #1 followed by Dago Red #2 Rare Bear,a top contender, was trailing smoke back down the line and MaeDay'ed out (Sorry about that!) anyway as of 16:34 Reno time that's what's happening!! Sorry I couldn't be there, maybe next year!! Check the air race web site for "Official" results, meanwhile, back at the pits, go get ready for next year and,"RUN WHAT YA' BRUNG!" 18. Hi sh, Nothing new here. Gyro copters are like,"older than me!!" I saw photos from some old Janes or something of the Germans having one they'd tow behind a sub out at sea to get survalence of the area (this was before RADAR!!) On a more recent note, try the 1950's, Igor Benson developed the Gyro Copter (Powered) and the Gyro Glider (tow version) Back in '57 or '58 I was 12 or 13 and sent off two box tops and $1.98 for the info pak and a nice scale drawing!! Still have it in my archives!! Too cool dude!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  19. Hi NP, Only to about a grand or so, then if the plane takes a S%#t I can get the F%@k out and get under a good canopy before it crashes.!! PS Hope I'm close to the DOOR!! PPS Watch for my raising the "FLAG" on takeoff!! BSBD !!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

  21. Hi SH, You got it and add "Absolutely Fabulous!!" I'll throw in "Ripcord!!" Perhaps we can invite Hiacinth and Richard to the DZ for "Tea and Light Refrishments" after jumping!!?? Also I think it would be a trip to have Edena and Patsy out for a Tandem Jump!! That would be lively!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  22. Hi GUN, As itdiver says, get ahold of Pat Works, he has the info. Also go to Airtrash.com and go to the Blast (from the past) page and read the "History of freefall RW by Pat Works" covers a lot of good stuff!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  23. Hi Charlie, A-License? Who got an A license? Used to be all ya' needed was 10 jumps for a A!! Most people skipped it and went for their "B." Time sure flys when yer' havin' fun!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  24. Hi Nick, Couldn't tell ya'!! On the "sand" road to the DZ circle there was a junk pile of old Blimp Gondolas and stuff but that was 40 years ago!! Never found anything from the Big "H" but before they paved over the north end of the runway at Perris, there were melted puddles of aluminum in the dirt from when N157U burned!! I got a few of those and Bob Webb has a Beer Case Box full!! Bob Webb?? Remember him? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  25. Hi Nick, I believe that was the AFA that was doing that 10 second hop training from back when?? The Navy Riggers training I went thru Spring of 1967 "Parachute Riggers 'A' School Class 714, Lakehurst NJ" Our "Class Jump" was a "Hop and Pop" with a Navy NT-5 from 3K out of a C-117 (R-4D a Navy version of the C-47) . At one point some years later one of the Base CO's discontinued the class jumps much to the dismay of everyone. After he left the next CO reinstated them!!! BTW My class jump was my 290th jump 18MAY1967. For everyone else in the class, it was their "First!!" Butch Schuster had a hard pull!! He jerked it a couple of times and finally uncorked his reserve about 1500' or so getting himself a little unintended freefall time!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
