Hi JR, You got that right!! Guns are just like Parachutes!! In '67 the first time I walked into the Paraloft at NAS Los Alamitos I was greeted by this 5'x5' sign just inside the door that had a drawing of a parachute with wings logo and written across it were these words,"If you ever need 'ONE,' and don't have 'ONE,' Then you'll never need 'ONE' again!!" Got that?? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out -
Hi Warped, Coyotes everywhere!! North, South, East and West!! When I lived in CA (West Pasadena area '83-'84) coyotes got my Ruggy cat. They didn't even leave a trace except for one small tuft of her fur, that's all I found. Blast a couple for Ruggy for me and I 'll take out a few here in NC for you. BTW, Good job!! Since "Firearm Ownership/non-ownership" seems to be a prevailing "Issue" in this election, I just wondered how the numbers would crunch. You can own "NONE" or "One to however many!" You either "Own" or you "Don't!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out -
Hi "A", "Customs" (if you want to call them that) are a constantly growing, unfolding, evolving critical mass of mores and folkways that drunk skydivers come up with to try to con Beer (mostly) and Whiskey (mostly too) from an unsuspecting other jumper for some event they were not part of!! eg; Beer Rules, Pie Rules, 1st anything Rules, ad nauseum!! If you buy a case for whatever, take a couple for your self "FIRST" then see how long the rest lasts. A considerate skydiver will ask,"Who bought the beer?" and come congratulate you, have a beer with you and ask to hear your story. Then you start out with,"NO Shit, there I was, thought I was gonna' die!!!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Do DZ Liability Waivers Hurt the Sport?
skybill replied to GLIDEANGLE's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi angle, Dude, please take into consideration that Skydiving is a "Dirty, Rotten, Dangerous job!!!" and nobody is holding a gun to your head to make you do it!! So, if you want to do it, then "Sign ze paper old man!" Other wise, "Hit the road Jack!!" This is NOT a "SAFE" sport!! Waivers are about assets and liabilities, NOT Skydiving!!!!! Hi KU, I usedta' drive over the road, long haul, Glass for Schneider Specialized (ch 19 "Mr. Schneider") and whenever I'd see one of those signs going into a town I'd let off on the fuel and just listen to that music!!! Good fun! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

How, and what is it about skydiving
skybill replied to justintime1983's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Just, Blame "Fashion Frocks" the company that built all those B-4 rigs for the U.S. Govt. back in the early 50's for the Korean war eara and they didn't get used so they got "Surplused" in the early 60's for pennies on the dollar so that Grass Roots Skydiving Clubs had a "Cheap" source of equipment!! Hence the comment "Cheap-Po" rig as compared to the Cadillac "Pioneer Lo-Po" rig of the day!! All that have posted here have some good thoughts on the subject, I concur. As Cocheese said about man's dream of human flight seems to be as close as anyone can get!! Here's to the first "Birdman" suit with "Wheels!!!!' on it!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out -
Roll call - leaving the US if Obama is elected

Hi bv, Don't "leave," "secede!!" The "South" did once before. Inspite of the outcome of that war that a lot of people think the "North" won, they havn't seen the number of "Stars and Bars" that still fly around here!! A little recent history for you, remember the national election in 1968?? If you weren't born yet, do a little research!! Ask someone who was there. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out -

Hi bt, I Pack!!! Since my 2nd or 3rd jump. I've jumped rigs that others have packed but I've never "paid" anyone else to pack my parachute! BTW, I've done reserves (FAA Rigger), packed student rigs for the DZ, worked as an aerospace parachute rigger (ejection seats to recovery systems) but I don't and have not packed mains for $$ on the DZ. Hi stitch, Way to go, and it's only October!!! Wait till January!! I used to like when I lived in CA in January we'd be skydiving at Perris to 12-5K with only T-shirts under the old jumpsuit. Might have been a little cool but nice at the top floor. Then get home and turn on the 11 o'clock news and see "Blizzard hits Midwest!!!" Chuckles, Chuckles!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi sab, I like the part where you say "You're free in every direction?? and you don't want your fellow citizens to be armed!! Dig it, "An Armed man is a Citizen" "An UnArmed man is a SUBJECT!!!!!!!" Got That?? BTW, I've traveled 1/2 way around the world twice in both directions and I'm not impressed! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out -
How higher Education is viewed in America and why.
skybill replied to Darius11's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Dari, Your operative word here is "SOME." It's the "SOME" that seem to be more vocal. Funny how that works, read the bumper sticker, "My kid is an Honor Student at Bling Bling School" and the next car has,"My kid beat up your honor student!!" Go Figure. A few years ago I worked as a Rigger for Irvin Aerospace. Putting Aerospace Parachutes together wasn't really complicated but it did require some "technical" ability. I thought it was rather sad and yet amusing at the comments made by some of the lower echelon employees about my position,"Those damn Riggers make too much money and don't ever do no work!!" Go figure?? Oh yes, another bumper sticker for you,"If you can read this, THANK A TEACHER!!!!!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out -
Hi HW, God I love it!!!!!!!! Unfortunately Ralph wasn't around Louisiana back then, we were doing the same stuff. Very little air-to-air being shot back then, Kodak Brownie cameras couldn't stop the action, shutter speeds too low, SAT!! But we had fun anyway. Philthy Philip AKA "Cappy" Connors had a Cannon 35mm SLR that he hand held and got some good pix with circa '65- '66. Anybody that has stuff from back then is "priceless!!" The micro video, still, hand held, helmet mounts of today were the outer space fantasy of yesterday!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
