Hi NP, You either want to fly or you don't. "Flight" has many modes. Skydiving is just one of them. Dig around and find "A moment of Immortality" a small piece written by a famous aviator and you will know. I've always been attracted to "flight," skydiving was just one way to fly. Did you find the writing, who wrote it?? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi BH, Sounds like an outfit that's into the $$$ out of your pocket rather than teaching flying!! SAT Got my Private SEL 06SEP79 from Long Beach Flyers FBO LGB Ca.(Dougherty Field) Heard some good "Hanger Flying" storys about a couple of other FBO's whose students bailed when they were donating $$ without getting any flying compensation!! Talked to one lady Student said she had 25 hrs Dual and not Soloed yet!! She said her Inst said,"Oh there's plenty of time for that, we'll do it later!!" "Oh really, not even 3 TO's & LDGs supervised solo?? HMMM?? She bailed on that FBO and came over to Flyers. Many testamonies!! Or is it "Test-a-MONEY??" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

How to wecome a new Pilot???
skybill replied to skyjumpenfool's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi fool, Hmmmmm, Safe skydiving is no accident. This trick is not new. I forget who pulled it on Jim Wilkins at Old Elsinore in one of the Howard DGA-15P aircraft. Jim reached in his pocket, took out "HIS" spare key, did an in air restart and flew to Rancho airport down the road, landed, went to the greasy spoon on the airport, had breakfast, then flew back to Elsinore just in time to call off the search party assembled to go search for the crashed airplane that some jumper took the key out of the ignition as a prank and was now about to get arested by the sheriff for negliant manslaughter!! Got that? Go ask Jim. BTW Don't fuck with the pilot ask Jim what he did to some merry pranksters that messed with him!! Good storys for at least a case of beer!!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out -

Hi lurch, Hit the nail on the head why don't ya'. The whole moon mission is kinda' like,"Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!" Sad state of affairs. I was on the flight deck of the USS Princeton LPH-5 on that May morning in the South Pacific and watched Apollo X do its metorite "burn!!!!" on re-entry!!! Ya' we went to the moon alright and now all you here is ramblings of people in tin-foil hats calling it a hoax!!! We have gotten a couple of R-2 units to Mars though, that ain't nothing to be sorry about!! Robots don't need burgers and fries. Establishing a manned mission on the MOON is definitely in our and mankind's best interest!!! Now to hear some ramblings from the tin-foil hat crowd!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi norm, Good one!! Who knows why he went nutz?? One of "the Only Ones" and he goes into attack mode!! He'z not the first and he sure as he2xL won't be the last. Now the hoplophobes will surly come up with knee-jerk reactionary rhetoric aimed at more "Gun-Control!!" I used to drive over the road long haul Glass for Schneider a few years ago and company policy was "No guns!!" I can't speak for indipendent truckers but even if he had one, the Trucker that got killed probably never saw it comming!!! There's nothing like getting "Blindsided" by a nutcase!! Hi rush, This idea of a "Gun show loophole" is put forth by anti-rights, Hoplophobic (*) people that you, I or anyone can go to a "gun show" and purchase firearms with no State/Federal background checks or requirements whereas purchases made at a dealer "outside" the show requires these State/Federal checks. "Got That??" It really doesn't take a lot of investigation to find out the fallacy here. The anti-rights people claim that anyone, especially criminals, can utilize this gunshow source to circumvent traceability of the firearms they can use in criminal activity!! Now if you think that you can go to a "Gun Show" and purchase firearms from a Gun Show Dealer differently than at a gun shop accross the street, I have a bridge in New York City that you need to buy!!! Just for you, in the dead of night, delivered to me, $2500.00 in unmarked twenty dollar bills, in a brown paper bag and the bridge is yours!! (*) go to www.gunlaws.com for details. Hi Rodster, You would ask!!?? "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....except for names!!!!!!!!!!!" We are all cursed!! Hollywood stars all have "Stage Names!!" and their "Real Name" is rather obscure and nobody cares!! So "fake it!!" You are cursed the first day of school in the first grade!! They will call you by your birth certificate name no matter how much you bitch!! I didn't even know my "Real Name" until that day!! Who is responsible??.. Why your mother of course!! Dad was totally closed out of this process!! Never mind my "Birth certificate" name, I'm glad that I'm "skybill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi BV, Whufs are whufs, that's that! If a whuf makes a jump, then he/she is a "one jump wonder!!" If they buy beer, gear, make more jumps and hang out at the DZ then they are skydivers. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi Than, Changing a tire is a bitch!! (Period!!) I've changed enough!! A couple of trips to help out is #1, the tightness of the lug nuts!! If the shop that put your tires on used an impact wrench, get your lug wrench and see if you can loosen them "BY HAND???" I have a 5 foot piece of pipe that I use as a "Cheater Bar" and I've used it a lot to break the torque. #2 is have and be able to use one of those tire plug kits till ya' get the tire shop permanent fix. I have yet to try one of those cigarette lighter plug in air pumps that's next on the to get list. "Happy Motoring!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi TS, Down on "the Boulevard" about average is $25.00 for a BJ. She has snaggle teeth "meth mouth' so the action can be interesting. Down in "the Murch" if you show $25.00 cash, they'll take your money, cut your throat and steel your shoes!! Whoever said the trip about teeth vs. no teeth is right!! View from a distance and don't get too close, the crabs jump 15 feet and swim upstream!!!!! PS, Cash only no tax but there's a re-bate for your recapable "Hot-rod gasket!!" Hi Tk, Yer' screwed!! If you really think this dude will stop by your place first off, what do you think his "intentions" are?? Besides firearms, get a good lawyer first!! Probably start with a restraining order, a dial-a-prayer (security) sys. and the Mossberg. Get the short barrel, 12 ga. 6 shot 3" chamber and lots of 00Buck rounds. A couple of nice Jewish girls wouldn't hurt either. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi l&d, Well, when you live in "the city" ya' got problems like that. Outside "the city" (unincorporated sections of the county) it's better and further from "the city" the better! Like old D. Boone, all he wanted is more "elbow room!!!" Move!! After livin' in "the country" for the last 7 years, 'ain't no way you'll get me back in "the city!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi Terry, That's a 10-4 on Irvin. I worked for them as a rigger from '87 - 2000. At that time Irvin Canada had the books on the Caterpillar Club. Don't know what changes have transpired since I left. Lots went on when I was there. I have some old brochures in my archives with the caterpillar pin photos, now to dig them out!! Ole' Les Irvin started the club back when to honor those who saved their lives via using a parachute. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Hi gw, Switlik may issue their own version of the "Caterpilar Club" but Irvin (now part of airborne sys) was the original. You can call the office in Santa Ana Ca and ask one of the old fart engineers there if any are still around about the program. When I still worked for Irvin, till 2000, Irvin Canada had the records for the Caterpillar Club. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
