This might be what you saw on the news: National Do Not Call list. I'm a big fan of that! Dave
-
The do not call list is federal law: 14 CFR 64.1200. Wow, lotsa good stuff to know in there. I'm gonna call the telemarketing company and let them know they're in violation of federal law and ask them who I should bill the calls. Dave

I have heard that but haven't found an official source for that information. Anyone know where it actually says that it's illegal? Edit: Never mind, found it at http://www.junkbusters.com/fcc.html. It's an FCC rule. Cool! Dave

Ram air pilot chutes! It's about time! I feel so old fashioned with my round pilot chute...

I believe the one you are talking about is called Skydive.mpeg (31,954 Kb). It was removed from skydivingmovies.com at the request of someone. I THINK it might be on headdown.net. I'll check. Edit: Can't seem to find it. If it should happen to end up in the /uploads/ folder by accident it'll get deleted as soon as I get around to it... hint hint. Dave

Cell phone rang, number "unavailable"....knew it was a telemarketer. So I picked up and asked for the supervisor. He said "dont you want to know who's calling?" He said he was from citibank and he'd connect me to his supervisor right away. Supervisor picks up, and i asked for his name, his company's name, their location, and their phone number. He got everything except the phone number. He put me on hold to look it up. A second after coming back he either hung up or we got disconnected. So I went to google, and found the company's website: http://www.teleservicesdirect.com. Believe it or not, they have their phone number, fax number, and multiple email addresses. I was shocked that they're so easy to contact. So I called back, but I didnt know the last name of the guy I had been talking to so I couldn't have too much fun. I asked for someone in charge and ended up getting someone's voicemail. Musta been lunch time. Anyway there's no way I'm leaving my number and asking for a telemarketer to call me back, so I'll try again later. That company says they specialize in collegiate telemarketing. So when any of you college student types get a telemarketer on the phone, ask em if they're from TeleServices Direct. You can reach the company at 1-888-646-6626 if you want to harass a real live telemarketer on your own time. Dave

maybe /freefly/freefly-olav.mov? I'll keep looking later...gotta go to a final now. Aircraft flight dynamics. WISH ME LUCK! Dave

Feel free not to send em your malfunctions, but please send them the good stuff! Every once in a while they show videos of skydiving when absolutely nothing goes wrong. So many people probably have videos of themselves doing really fun stuff. Hoop jumps, raft dives, interesting exits, all that stuff. Thats the kinds of videos we should be sending to real tv. You wouldnt have to feel guilty when they treat you real nice too. Dave

WTF??? Didnt you see that one on about september 13th, 2001?? Geez... Dave
-
Maybe someone already mentioned it and I missed it, but... Someone uploaded a video of a bunch of dz.commers having lots of fun at Perris last labor day. It's Dz.comLaborDay02.wmv (21 megs, 8.5 minutes) in the /misc/ folder. So who's in it and who did the videoing, editing, and uploading?? THANKS! Nice video! Dave

I'm sure those serial numbers are being watched for, but cypreses don't legally need to be serviced according to the manual in every country. It's a US law (and probably a law in most other countries that have skydiving too), but it may not be enforced elsewhere. Dave

ugh....my first final is in under 8 hours. Vibrations and Aeroelasticity. Just sounds fun, doesnt it? Dave
-
...it didnt happen. So where are the 300 way vids at?? C'mon, i know someone reading this has something. Or maybe its a conspiracy... Ok, so maybe skydivingmovies.com isnt quite so important but I'd like to see a video of it. Even just training jumps would be cool. I know there were only a few official videographers (I get the feeling norman kent isnt gonna be uploading anything any time soon), but did any of the participants wear cameras? I'd love to see the breakoffs.....I think thats the best part. Dave

I put up a Trailers folder on skydingmovies.com. No new files, just making it easier to find trailers to videos that are for sale. Don't have many of them, but you can get previews of good stuff, crosswind, and 1st base (which looks freaking awesome). Dave

Whats wrong with posting an IP? They aren't very hard to get usually. Dave

One of my email addresses is in one post on dropzone.com, but the email came to another address multiple times which has never appeared on dropzone.com in a thread or in my profile. Just checked and I have used that address a long time ago on a couple newsgroups. So I am guessing dropzone.com isnt the one to blame. Dave

If your best friend went in due to los of altitude awareness, I seriously doubt you'd be saying he deserved it. Dave
-
I got that email 5 times on 2 different addresses!!! GRRRRRRR!!!! Dave

Gives ROL a whole new meaning. I hope he's careful with what he pulls. Dave

I think a King Air would be a LOT cheaper to run. Those warbirds usually require something like 50 maintenance man hours per flight hour. Probably not quite so much for a B-25 (as opposed to a B-17), but still. But it sure would be a cool jump plane! Dave

drink some coke while you wait. I like sprite.

Desperate for bidness huh? I'd be happy to get my hosting from you. Is about 10 gigs of hard drive space and about 25 gigs per week of bandwidth usage free with your company? It is now, so I can deal with some downtime.

...will probably be back online tomorrow. Dave

Oh my lord texans piss me off! I wanna smack people that call it pop, but I want to murder people that call it all coke! Dave
