I've read enough stories like these to make sure that I check not only that the strap is correctly routed through the buckle, but also to make certain its not mistouted behind the MLW or through the reserve handle etc. Every jump, no exceptions. __ My mighty steed

Biting its head off wasnt really an option for me. That would have been contrary to the whole respect for life thing __ My mighty steed

Got up this morning and came downstairs. Walked into my dining room and couldnt help noticing that both of my cats were sitting next to the wall looking up toward the ceiling. Yep, theres a little brown bat (literally) clinging to the wall just below the ceiling. He was actually quite cute, too. The "Little Brown Bat (Myotis lucifugus)" is the most common bat species found in Pennsylvania. My policy is to NEVER kill critters if I can help it. I prefer to get em safely home. This includes most things regardless of the number of legs, wings, antlers, or whatever. If any of you are of the "Just kill the thing" attitude I hope for your sake that you develop a little more respect for life along your journey. I dont have quite as much empathy for the two legged variety. Mostly because they stomp though the world killing everything in sight including each other and leave a giant mess everywhere they go. Never had a bat in the house before though and I wasnt sure how I could catch him without hurting him. They have VERY delicate wing bones and I was afraid that if I just tossed a blanket over him it might injure him, not to mention that they are so small how would I know where he was in the blanket. I didnt want to get bitten. Its not likely that it was rabid but they CAN have diseases and I didnt feel like dealing with that so I needed a method that would protect both of us from each other. I also didnt want to have to be chasing him all over the house so I figured I have to get him on the first attempt. In the end it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. First thing I did was ask it in a soothing voice to relax because I was going to help it get home. It cooperated by ramaining where it was for a while so I dumped the laundry basket on the floor, (my wife was thrilled) moved a chair over by the wall, sloooowly climbed up on the chair and sloooowly lifted the basket and placed it over the bat till it was flush against the wall. Then he started jumping around inside and chirping his fuzzy little head off. An odd sound. Kinda like a high pitched cricket. Anyway, I knew as long as I didnt leave a gap between the basket and the wall that he couldnt get out so I slowly slid the basket down the wall till I could stand on the floor then I slid a towel between the wall and the basket till it covered the top. Ta da! Then I just moved to the nearest window, put the top out and pulled the towel away. Off he went, probably scared and tired, but otherwise none the worse for wear and no injuries. I felt good

Should be interesting, especially since its not likely he will be wearing a helmet Can you hook him up the nostrils and get the same effect? __ My mighty steed

Employees of a company using networks and equipment owned and operated by that company have NO expectation of privacy with regard to e-mail or other internet use. Its a fact. Most companies make that fact very clear to the employees. I am currently working for a company that provides e-mail services to other companies, in other words an outsourcer. As a System administrator, I regularly get requests from some of them to provide copies of e-mail messages sent to or from specific individuals for them to review. For example: Give me copies of all messages sent to so-and-so between date 1 and date 2. etc. They generally only do this if they have a specific reason to keep an eye on someone., like perhaps they think he is conducting business for himself while at work or trying to cultivate business from the customers of their employer or other such stuff. They dont, as a matter of course, go through everyones communications all the time, but they do have the legal right to do so if they choose to. __ My mighty steed

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" aka Willy Wonka remake
ChrisL replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
I loved this book when I was a kid. I was always disappointed with the movie because they changed a lot of the things that happened. I also dont think it should have been a musical. Nobody did any song and dance routines in the book. Johnny Depp is an incredibly versatile actor. I think he will do Willy Wonka justice. I hope that Tim Burton sticks with the book. I love to read so I have usually read the book long before the movie comes out. When the movie deviates in any serious detail its always very disappointing. __ My mighty steed -

I might actually HAVE to be there that day as I have a friend doing her first tandem that weekend I think I'll just hang around in Square3 until its all over... __ My mighty steed

Just by way of comparison, I weight 210 without gear and jump a brand new Sabre2 210. It currently has 57 jumps on it. Sounds just like the guy you are talking about. I'm not going to enter the debate of Safire2 vs Sabre2 because I have no experience on the Safire2 at all. I alos wont comment on what I heard someone else say. Hearsay is often crap. I can most definitely comment on my own openings under the Sabre2 loaded exactly the way this guy you are taking about. I get maybe a 600-700 ft opening. Its not too hard and not too soft. I've put every jump this canopy has on it and I can say with 100% certainty that its NEVER opened too hard. Not once. Doesnt snivel forever either. For the first few dozen jumps I had maybe 1 in 3 openings go off heading by 90 degrees or so but that seems to have stopped happening. I guess its more broken in now? Anyway, I love my Sabre2. Wouldnt trade it. I have to think that an opening that was so hard that it snapped a guys femur, the strongest bone in the body, that there was somethign wrong with the one he had or there was something congenitally wrong with the guys femur, or maybe even both. I cant say one way or another, but I can definitely say that this guys experience is not the normal performance of a Sabre2 __ My mighty steed

A little hot but otherwise quite jumpable. I've been jumping every week. Since December! Just go jump man __ My mighty steed -

Yeah! Whats the big deal anyway? We can now add up to 3-4 inches in length and an inch of circumference, stay harder for longer, and have more intense orgasms just by buying the products that are advertising in my e-mail. So relax, little feller. Its all good __ My mighty steed

Better makes some jumps before the money goes away! __ My mighty steed -
This is a sweeping generalization and as such is completely without merit. I'm sure you are one horny mofo but I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the fact that you skydive nor does the fact that you skydive have anything to do with your labido. I do not believe that the desire to jump is even remotely connected to the desire for sex. They do not have the same root cause or motivation. Sex drive is a hormone driven biological imperative. The desire to jump from planes for the thrill is purely mental/emotional. For myself, I do not believe that I am "extra" horny. I believe my sex drive is normal. My jump drive is very high though The only physical connection ever observed in "thrill seeking" people is possibly a lower than normal level of dopamine receptors in the brain. You COULD, through that theory, link the desire to skydive with the same root cause of alcoholism and drug addiction, but not sex drive. __ My mighty steed
