Nah, handwriting is a completely seperate issue. That stuff comes from some dank, cobwebby place in the back of the mind that has little to do with intellect or education. I start the numbers 0 and 6 at the bottom for gods sake! I wasn't taught that, its just the way I do it. While printing, I routinely connect certain combinations of letters. Go figure. As to the rest, I was making a generalization, not claiming that everyone that misspells something does so because they dont know any better. Certainly there are those that know the difference and dont care, and those that know the difference and just mix them up occasionally. Not that I can prove it, but I'd be willing to bet that the majority do so simply because, while they may be aware of the different spellings, they dont know which one is correct in a given situation so they pick the first one that comes to mind. This is an educational problem in my opinion. Then perhaps you would care to explain why you are not called "Flukehead" __ My mighty steed

This isnt about caring. To use the same example as before, if someone knows the difference between breaks and brakes, they will use the right one 99% of the time even if they dont particularly care. The errors I'm refering to are made because the user doesnt know the difference. I make a definite distinction between spelling errors and typos. For instance, when someone refers to the brakes on their canopy as "breaks" or their landing as a "flair" These are not typos, just bad spelling __ My mighty steed

According to a recent dz.com poll, 24% of us have Post university degrees 37% have a University degree 12% have a college diploma 17% aquired SOME education beyond HS 6% graduated high school (I am in this group) This means that fully 96% of us at least graduated high school. So why is it that about 90% of us have terrible grammar and can barely spell? Not a very good commentary on our educational systems. __ My mighty steed

No education beyond high school. Worked blue collar jobs for 10 years and made shit. Couldnt afford jumping. Tried to get into it but had to quit. Taught myself UNIX systems and worked my way into the computer field. Now after a number of years in this field I'm earning a very comfortable living and now I CAN AFFORD TO JUMP I recommend the education. :-) I got here without it but it took years longer to reach the point I'm at now. Managing to become sucessful without going to college makes me afraid that my kids will say "Dad didnt go to college and look at him! Screw College!" __ My mighty steed

Well it IS for extra credit and therefore should be slightly advanced, but yes a 6th grader can do this. figuring out the answer to this is not about how smart you are, but rather it tests your logical reasoning ability. 6th graders are just as capable of this type of thought as anyone. __ My mighty steed

I am currenly undergoing a background check for a job myself. I also was hospitalized. In my case for alcoholism. At 114 jumps I still have a little anxiety but only before the first jump of the day and then only on the ride up. Once we are 2 minutes from jump run and we start doing final checks etc that gets replaced with excited anticipation, and once out the door its replaced with YEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAA! I wouldnt call it fear, though, I'd call it nervous excitement __ My mighty steed
