Exactly! My dz also keeps reserve dates in the system. There are times when I don't know the exact expiration date, but I always know when I'm close and I double check BEFORE I manifest and do what needs to be done. I guess if the guy was dumb enough to go to manifest with an expired reserve card and they offered him a solution so he could jump........... I still don't like it. No way should manifest be directly involved with or encouraging pencil packing! Its very stupid on their part to even make the suggestion. And I've dealt with the whole "Why don't you use OUR rigger?" bs, which I also don't like.

If you have to ask, you owe beer! Isn't that in the rules too? (or is it one of those unwritten rules?)

One thing I don't miss about apartment life!

I wouldn't like it. Then again, I hope at this point I know better than to bring an out of date reserve card to manifest!

Re: Hard openings- what are you flying and how is your body position when you dump? Is it possible you are dumping while you are still in a track? Umm- and the beer rule was made for rookies- there are NO exemptions! since when do we pie for anything under a thousand at SDC anyway?

Doing it is normal. Filming yourself-not so much!

Where is the applause icon? Brave Zenister! Very well said!

Did anyone mention Navy Pier? I love Navy Pier. Lots of different shops and restaurants. The big Ferris Wheel is kind of lame, but a nice ride.

The thing about the Cubs is their fans love them and go to the games even when they are losing. The Sox have a hard time filling the stadium when they are in first place.

That's what I did in Mexico! Swimsuits under the jumpsuit and we didn't gear up until we were ready to board the plane. Landed on the beach, dropped the gear, took off the jump suit and hopped in the pool. I tried to get the organizer to dirt dive and post dive in the pool but he didn't like the idea!

OK, technically, he has the "right" to do it. But he looks like an idiot, and since his personal wealth (or at least his ability to add to it) is largely based on his popularity, its not a good career move for him. If he wants to give up acting and start preaching on TV, I wish him all the luck in the world!

He really needs to stop being so outspoken regarding his religious beliefs. I've heard about some of the statements he's made (attacking Brooke Shields, etc.) and they are downright offensive. Like anyone else, he has a right to his beliefs. He does not have a right to impose them on others or publicly pass judgement on people.

I tend to "wilt" in heat and humidity myself, so you aren't alone! If I wake up already feeling fatiqued from the heat, I usually won't jump. The last thing I want is to end up with heat exhaustion or heat stroke! If I really make an effort to stay rested and hydrated between jumps then I do OK, but if its that much work and my other option is a nice cool pond to swim in, well.............!

Its also really easy to adjust the length of the chords depending on how much (or how little) wing you need. With the other style, you have to adjust each side individually and make sure they are the same. Not to mention, I got serious bruising on my arm when my altimeter got ripped off my hand in freefall and pulled the swoop chord with it. (Of course, the swoop chord "saved" my altimeter, but my entire forearm was black and blue for several weeks!) Just a much better design all around!

Once the smell is there, they will keep going back, and they can smell it even when you no longer can. Products like Nature's Miracle are supposed to neutralize the odor even for the cats! The best solution is to keep the rig or gear bag where the cats can't get at it. And, also, there is usually a valid reason for inappropriate urination. Possible medical but it could be as simple as a dirty litter box.

Weeds I can grow no problem!

I don't know all the plants that are bad for my cats, I just know my cats are bad for any plant I've tried to keep in my house! Probably my fault because I used to buy cat grass at the pet store which was just for them to eat. They now think all plants are fair game. Funny, because in the yard all they eat is the grass.

She's really cute. I'm not stalking your kitty or anything but she reminds me of a kitten I had when I was in college. Similar coloring and all! And sorry to hijack this great garden thread with kitty talk!

My mom had a friend who was almost certainly followed home from the bingo parlor after she won a lot of money. She was mugged outside her home. Roughed up pretty bad too, and she was an older lady.

We need updated pictures of Foxxy Love! Maybe one day I'll figure out this who attaching photos thing and share pictures of my babies!

Ah well- birds. I don't know if I want to attract birds to my yard. I let my cats out in the backyard if someone is out there with them. (Can't have them wandering off!) I'm not sure I want to deal with the carnage if (when) my cat Spike gets a hold of a bird!

Are the sunflowers annuals? They'd be nice for the space next to my garage!

That's what I've got with my Zute Sute and I think that's better than the ones in my old Tony suit where each one connected at the waste.

Those jokes are kind of cute. The comments about how the cat should be killed are out of line. If you were about 100 years old and someone blocked your way to the bathroom, I doubt you'd be able to hold it either!
