Update: 4900 in 21.5 years. Average of 227 a year, or 4 a weekend for 1118 weekends. t It's the year of the Pig.

I don't have answers for your problem. I know that I feel angry when I'm scared, or when I believe someone has done something deliberate to hurt me or someone I love. I know that is often not the case. I feel scared when I'm not in control. Mostly, in this life we are not in control. That's why skydiving appeals the way it does. We may not know if we have saved enough for retirement, but we're pretty sure how the next 60 seconds will turn out - and will have proof - positive or negative - of that 60 seconds from now. The doctors never set out to bankrupt anyone. When they were students, and sleep deprived, and studying all they could, they were not thinking of all the people they could leave destitute. We have little to look forward to in this life outside of the relationships we forge with others. It's those relationships which count. Not the money. Not the pain. Not the anger. t It's the year of the Pig.

Just put it down. It doesn't matter if some guy cut you off in traffic. You're feeling angry cos you're alive. It doesn't matter if someone steals your stuff. Claim on insurance or get new stuff. Think back ten years to something you were really angry about. Are you still angry? If you are, then you're bottling it up. If you simply have some regret about the path chosen back then, then you are growing as a person. In the end, all that matters is now. Anger steals now from you. It forces you to wear a mask that someone else has handed you. Don't wear that mask. Put it down. t It's the year of the Pig.

I let it go. Anger's not going to do you any good. It's a bit like driving a really fast car - with no brakes. The rush will get you into trouble sooner or later. t It's the year of the Pig.

I had a Tandem reserve malfunction too. That student noticed. The rest, not so much. t It's the year of the Pig.

In South Africa we call that an AN-2, but we use the Chinese Pronounciation. t It's the year of the Pig.

I have 8 Tandem malfunctions in 750 Tandem jumps. I would call that a big canopy. t It's the year of the Pig.

If you're going to buy a wingsuit, buy a wingsuit. The S Fly, Prodigy, GTI, Phantom and Firebird are all OK for 1st flights. If you're scared of a suit then PF make some mean tracking suits, or BM made the Impact. t It's the year of the Pig.

Great post. I've been jumping for 21 years and have been doing Instructional dives since 1992, mainly weekends only. 7 years ago I got a "real" job. 3 years ago I let my Tandem rating lapse, mainly because I wanted to fly my wingsuit more often. 2 years ago I let my Static Line Instructors and Jumpmasters ratings lapse as I was tired of being tasked to look after students other than my AFF - who's paying for my time - or while I was fun jumping. I love doing AFF. That seems to be more a passion than a job, and I'm pretty sure if I won the lottery I would continue to do it. t It's the year of the Pig. -

I'm a very, very serious person. It must make perfect sense to me or I can't enjoy it. Some people think I'm wound too tight, but I'm just very stressed. I don't think I'll crack at any second, cos it's 16h30 here, and it's THE WEEEEEEKEND, BABY! t It's the year of the Pig.

When I fill my car I do the same thing. I stop when it's full. I don't add a few more gallons to the floor for no reason. Seems to make some sense to me. t It's the year of the Pig.

You clearly have never laid an ambush. The attackers WANT you to stay in the killing zone. Everyone who can get out should get out. Then they can think about flanking or a counter attack. t It's the year of the Pig.
