  1. Thanks for the info. I'm just playing. Kinda relieved it's as small as it is, and I never have much sympathy for rich people who buy planes and screw up. (Like JFK Jr.) t It's the year of the Pig.
  2. That's Cory.. but he was apparently alone. Had his licence less than a year. t It's the year of the Pig.
  3. So who is Cory Lidle? And why didn't he use his balistic parachute? And why didn't you tell us all this stuff on post no 1? t It's the year of the Pig.
  4. On post 28 of the thread. t It's the year of the Pig.
  5. That's scary. No fly zone and the fighters are up over "several" major US cities. t It's the year of the Pig.
  6. Only 2 casualties confirmed so far - both from the aircraft. Looks like 5 apartments involved. t It's the year of the Pig.
  7. Apparently now confirmed as a light aircraft. "Not a helicopter" The flames are much better on Sky TV. CNN has just got smoke. t It's the year of the Pig.
  8. Wow. Small world. Watching CNN right now. They are saying it's not terrorist related. Looks more likely to have been a helicopter. t It's the year of the Pig.
  9. I had a headache one morning after I had been drinking. I don't usually get headaches, so I thought they might be related. t It's the year of the Pig.
  10. Silly car. SO, or rig, but not both. t It's the year of the Pig.
  11. That song is about a STALKER! (I'll never understand some women..) t It's the year of the Pig.
  12. I said that, but I'm sure others have too. End of this month I'm off to the US again, for a week. I'll have my rig/wingsuit as a carry on. My rig bag is small enough to fit under the seat in front of me, and it's usually all I carry on. I also tell security that it's a parachute before I put it in. When they know what they're looking at their reaction is more benign, and it's clear you're not trying to sneak anything on. Not having a cypres helps too. When you can show you're in and out in a week - and are going for something specific - it's kinda hard to deny that you'd be screwed if you never had something that takes 2 months to build with you at the time. I'll let you know if I have any problems this time. t It's the year of the Pig.
  13. I didn't, actually, but the chances are good that the OP will read your post anyway. t It's the year of the Pig.
  14. Correct. Then you need to find someone else willing to part with good money to live with it until they sell it. t It's the year of the Pig.
  15. The Roberts cutaway system has several advantages over the systems used on the S Fly, Sugarglider, GS-1, etc. The pilot maintains control over the leading edge, so even if the wing inflates, there is reduced consequence. In the event of a "swallowed" cutaway or reserve handle - already a rare/unlikely occurence on a tri wing suit, cutting the wings away allows access to those handles, while on monowings that is not the case. t It's the year of the Pig.

    Reserves

I'll agree with that. My DZ is 5200ft AMSL and hot in the summer and I have PD 126's in both my rigs. I'm really happy with them. t It's the year of the Pig.
  17. Ohio's a long way from Africa! t It's the year of the Pig.
  18. "If it ain't broke - don't fix it." t It's the year of the Pig.
  19. Thanks Chantelle! I've attached a pic of Heather on an earlier dive - the 1st one on which she solved the turning puzzle by using her legs. Clearly I'm more pleased by that than she is! The pic was taken by Arno. Blue Skies, t It's the year of the Pig.
  20. Buddhists were here before Christians or Islamics. They're not big on religious war. I think the only evil is the one we all have within us. If there's a war to be fought, it's a civil war, within us all, every day of our lives. t It's the year of the Pig.
  21. No problem with night wingsuit at Johannesburg Skydiving Club! (It's quite a road trip though.) t It's the year of the Pig.
  22. PD requires their reserves to be sent in for a factory inspection & permeability testing after 25 uses or 40 repacks. I started jumping in the days before ZP, and we did 100's of jumps on that type of canopy. I think 10 repacks is a bit paranoid. t It's the year of the Pig.
  23. I did my AFF rating with Don Yahrling at Perris in 1992. I had to work my ass off to pass. Over the last 1900+ AFF dives, I've come to appreciate the value of what that man taught me. I don't know what the course is like now. t It's the year of the Pig.
  24. Love em too. I have about 50 - but for me it's all about wingsuits now, looking at he moon reflecting off Silver wings with lightning in the background.. t It's the year of the Pig.
  25. Certainly an AN-2. They're often the cause of that kind of injury. t It's the year of the Pig.
