  1. No, Worlds apart. In my experience, the hurricane opens hard, glides poorly even on deep brakes and is heavy in all control inputs. That's all very different from the Stilleto. The recovery arc is much, much longer too. You may be thinking about the Heatwave. t It's the year of the Pig.
  2. My question would be similar, except maybe I'd ask why he let them behave that way in his nime. t It's the year of the Pig.
  3. I'm sure you've read this, but for those who have not it gives some insight into the challenges facing lighter people at higher wingloadings. t It's the year of the Pig.
  4. So... the OP has 192 dives and is on a 150 Stilleto. (1.15) The Stilleto is recomended by the manufacturer for 500+ jumps. The OP is thinking about going to a 135 Stilleto. (1.28) Are you advising going to a wing loading of 1.44 on Sabre 2/Safire/Pilot/Crossfire/Katana for someone with under 200 jumps that you have never met? t It's the year of the Pig.
  5. About 1000 jumps, sometimes as soon as 900. Comfortable is being able to fly the canopy with confidence in all flight modes, and all conditions I choose to jump in. (under 15 kts - and constant) t It's the year of the Pig.
  6. I was watching an interview on Sky last night too, and it seems the terms "prostitute" and "sex worker" were used interchangably, as they are in the link you provided. t It's the year of the Pig.
  7. I watched that swoop "live" and I have to say that seeing the still of the canopy like that comes as a bit of a surprise. This pond is new, and I think we all have a great deal to learn about canopies, flight, and interaction with water. Right now, I feel safer over ground and I have yet to swoop the pond. t It's the year of the Pig.
  8. So if you did half as well in your next comp as you did in your last, under similar conditions, but you won, you'd be happy with that? Or if you far exceeded your personal best, and were whipped, you'd see that as a step back? t It's the year of the Pig.

I've read it many times. t It's the year of the Pig.
  10. The only yardstick worth measuring yourself against is yourself. Are you better than you were when you had 900 jumps? When you start to get worse, it's cos you're either learning a new trick, or are uncurrent, or are simply getting old. It's pointless comparing yourself to others. You are the only constant. t It's the year of the Pig.
  11. I'm not saying we should be wearing that, but swoop pants are a joke. The motorcycle boots are a joke. We do need foot/shin/knee/lower spine/elbow/shoulder/upper spine/skull protection though. What form that will take I don't know. t It's the year of the Pig.
  12. I recall the same thing being said about spandex cycling shorts. Hot, sure, but heat never fucked up a swooper. Those suits have things we need, to save our spines, and prevent our joints from hyper-extending. Sure they'll look odd, but I think that 1000 jump wonders should be wearing them. As for getting them off in the event of injury - wake the fuck up people. Everyone who races Bikes wears that shit, and they crash and they fuck themselves up, and the suits are not a problem for the medics. One thing I know for sure. It takes 10 years to get 10 years worth of experience. There is no other way. t It's the year of the Pig.
  13. Well... when I was 12, there were no computers (apart from the ones NASA had!) but I had an obsession with Tanks. The idea of the independence of driving around and blowing shit up was cool to me. Soon after that "Battlezone" came out in Arcades, and that was the end of my free time and money for a looong time. t It's the year of the Pig.
  14. I run ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 for a computer company. I wish I could do the same kind of job in the gear manufacturing feild. I'm PDS I could do a better job than I do here, since I know a lot more about gear than I do about computers, and it would be cool to combine what I know about business systems with what I really love. Of course, this means that skydiving would remain a weekend only activity - but that's OK. But.. no Greencard cos I'm South African.. At least I still manage 300 dives a year weekends only! t It's the year of the Pig.
  15. There are some people who read the incidents forum who havn't figured that out yet.. t It's the year of the Pig.
  16. You lucky devil. I wondered what happened to her! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=dove; t It's the year of the Pig.

    Sitting Bull

Died today in 1890. The event pretty much marked the end of armed conflict between the US Government and the Native Americans. Some information here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitting_Bull t It's the year of the Pig.
  18. No. I know his swoop pond is smaller. It's shorter and thinner than mine. I don't know anything about his penis. t It's the year of the Pig.
  19. man im glad i have a girl friend Looking at your Avitar, you have the loosest condom I've ever seen! t It's the year of the Pig.
  20. I don't get it either... It's like people arguing about who's condom is the best, instead of getting out there and fucking! t It's the year of the Pig.
  21. The pics are from video... and they are the BEFORE pics. The after pic was taken with my Nokia N70. Truth is, the wind was kin howling! (Look at the pond surface..) and the sec Chris carved into it - he stopped. The pic missed the best of the wing over though, I think. t It's the year of the Pig.
  22. I think WyoNewb nailed it there. Agreed. L1 and 2 can be pretty mechanical. Wind it up and let it go. L3 and L4 there is now "feel" involved. If that feel isn't there yet, then the chances are good that the student will be overwhelmed on the dive. t It's the year of the Pig.
