They didn't elect him.. He was appointed by the Supreme Court. He is NOT an elected President. t It's the year of the Pig.

How far have you come since your 1st post?

Real good. Most of the things I learn these days are from people with less than 1000 dives. t It's the year of the Pig. -
Just be happy, dude. Online - you're looking a little needy. I can only imagine what you're like in person. t It's the year of the Pig.

Mmm. Things not looking so good for George now... 65% against... t It's the year of the Pig.

Beat Ya. I'm 32%. Very interesting. 95% of people - out of 13 million - are more pure than me... t It's the year of the Pig.

6 for, 5 against. There's obviously something about the man I'm missing.. t It's the year of the Pig.

What? Which signal? Post us a pic of you doing it so we know which cool signal you mean! I'm an AFF I. I give lots of signals. t It's the year of the Pig.

I have one so my students who are not at the DZ can get voicemail while I'm jumping with my students who are at the DZ. If I'm not answering my phone - I'm jumping. Usually takes them a while to figure that out - dispite my message. t It's the year of the Pig.

I so admire your patience. t It's the year of the Pig.

Can you see your cutaway and reserve handles wearing a motorcycle helmet? I don't think so. You may want that option. t It's the year of the Pig.

I know. That's why I never voted. I'd like to see what they think of what's happened to the US in the last few years. t It's the year of the Pig.

Well you know now, so go and edit it. t It's the year of the Pig.

Stowing Slider-Before or after releasing brakes?
Tonto replied to cruzlite's topic in Gear and Rigging
Stow slider, then unstow brakes. Unless you have a pre brake release, spinning mal etc. Then get control ASAP. It's very similar to Birdman. Unzip arms 1st - unless something funky is going on, in which case you may want to chop the wings (Or unzip the arms a little quicker.) Then stow slider, unstow brakes - and get undressed. t It's the year of the Pig. -
I'm with you there. PASA has it's "ISP" running. (Intermediate skills program here) which keeps the student with an instructor or coach until A licence, now 25 jumps as per FAI req's as of 30 September. Tandem progression is too expensive to be viable in SA. A somewhat better (but still poor) exchange rate with the $, and having to use (and maintain) foreign gear is the primary reason, so we're still doing conventional "double instructor" L1 to L3. Looks like PASA is trying to "mirror" USPA. With the volumes and experience available in the US - there seems little point in re-inventing the wheel - but we do lag in some aspects, such as AFF with ripcord as opposed to BOC throwout. I'd like to relocate the ripcord position to BOC - but this would compromise the SL Practice pull, with the container having gone slack by the time the student reaches for it. I know of exits that have gone pear shaped and spat off an instructor, but have yet to participate on one. I'm sure my time is coming. The slow speed on the Porter helps out a lot here, I think, but the vast majority of my AFF is still out of Cessna front door and rear door exits. t It's the year of the Pig.

My thoughts exactly! t It's the year of the Pig.

It's a QUARTER dude. That doesn't make a year... and it's easy to show growth when you're at the bottom of the barrel... t It's the year of the Pig.

Dunna. I guess the one that makes it through multiple mals is "the one" while the others are just there for a couple of 100 jumps!
-
Cutaway's every 220 skydives. Except for fractures. They're every 1987.5 jumps. Or aircraft emergencies. They're every 993.75 jumps. Girlfriends happen every 220.83 dives. Fuck That's one per chop.... t It's the year of the Pig.

I have 3975 dives total, and 18 cutaways - 8 of them on Tandems which were RSL equipped. The RSL failed to activate the reserve on 2 occasions. (Brass snap-shackle sprung open under load) I now wait for RSL activation (Stainless steel snap-shackle) and only follow through if it fails due to the hassle of managing the extra handle while getting the brakes unstowed. (RWS T R's don't like to fly on brakes..) I don't have an RSL on my "normal rig" as it's a highly loaded eliptical. I don't have an RSL for CF, and I don't use one for camera. I think they're a great idea when experience is low (Low numbers) or unknown (High numbers but no cutaway experience) or when workload can be very high. (Tandem) (edit)The broken riser firing the reserve into the still attached main can be dealt with by fitting a Collins lanyard. The "Skyhook" by RWS solves many of the problems caused by RSL's - but I still wouldn't want one for camera or CF. Also bear in mine that an RSL is NOT an AAD, and an AAD is NOT a substitute for an RSL. I suspect that as I age and move back up in canopy sizing - I'll probably equip my rig with an RSL.. but that may take 25+ years to happen. t It's the year of the Pig.
