Sorry to hear about your story. I wonder why the dude was not out preaching just before the incident. I've used D rings, Soft loops (Tandem) and soft puffs for reserve handles. For me, its just a handle - like the one you use to open a door. They're all different, but we know how to work them. The only preference I have is for birdman. I like the hard "pipe" handle on BOC (as in Tandem) and with the loop over my thumb, I like my D ring reserve handle. t It's the year of the Pig. -
So... I did 4000th on the day you did your 1st. I can't help but feel that we shared the same feelings. Usually, it's the people who have lower numbers who say "numbers don't count" but I agree completely. I did an AFF L1 this weekend, a Tandem, an 8 way (which was a 1st for 2 jumpers with around 100 dives that did really well) and a couple of more personal dives too. I know why I did my 2nd jump - and why I hope to keep going. We have the most special sport in the world. And its the people - and the visuals - that make it so. t It's the year of the Pig.

Thanks to all for the congratulations! I can honestly say I never thought that skydiving would dominate my life the way it has. The time on the ground, the people I've been lucky to meet and bitching about the weather mean just as much as the dives. I guess I'll just keep going! t It's the year of the Pig.

Dude! I am having fun... and learning new stuff. The more I jump, the more I realise we're all just beginners. The staff at JSC are really fantastic, so they chase the errant skydivers around. I just smile and nod! t It's the year of the Pig.

I did my 4000th dive today! It was a Birdman rodeo dive with my GF, but other dives for the weekend were AFF, Tandem, freefly and a nice 8 way! I got horribly pied, and will be picking bits of cream out of my ears for a least a week. So... next weekend I need to write those double zero's again... and I'm on my way to 5000! t It's the year of the Pig.

Nationals is next year in Margate, using PSC's King air and JSC's Porter. There is a King Air Boogie end of year in Margate, and the Porter is going to Citrusdal 25 Dec to 03 Jan. t It's the year of the Pig.

I guess the spelling is just a thing, you know? I suck at it most of the time. A friend who does my website, Blue Skies can't spell at all, and doesn't give a damn. Hasn't slowed him up a bit! You'll probably come across plenty on the site. Oops - just checked. Blue Skies is down... Need to follow up on that! t It's the year of the Pig.

Porter lost in arson attack at Granville, France

Bummer. We had a DZ destroyed by arson last year. All gear and 2 aircraft destroyed. It wasn't for the money, since non of the gear was insured, and the club didn't own the aircraft. They kept going though, with some gear (Horrible stuff) people had lying aound at home - and are back on track now. t It's the year of the Pig. -

First, if you don't know what you're doing - don't do "low radical turns." If you do - and you're screwed.. Get on the brakes to get the wings level and the canopy slowed down as fast as possible without initiating a high speed stall. Problem is, most newbies only realise they're screwed when their foot hits them in the mouth after they've femured themselves.... t It's the year of the Pig.

Awesome. Absolutely incredible. Our DZ did 4 jumpers - 100 jumps each in 12 hours - and that was a challenge for all but the Porter. This is absolutely incredible! Congratulations to all! t It's the year of the Pig.
