I jump a tempo 120 loaded to 1.6. Our DZ is 5000ft AMSL. I have 3 landings on it. Landings are "demanding" and require all the skill I have - including about 600 dives on F-111 type fabric 7 cells. Unless you are very current, highly skilled and have good "feel" for what the wing is telling you, I'd steer clear. I won't load higher than I'm currently at. t It's the year of the Pig.

I'm all for peace, but if you sign up, get the respect and the benefits that your country provides for those in the military - you should go. Of course, if you were drafted, that would be a different story. Then someone else wants you to go. t It's the year of the Pig.

Primary on back of left hand Secondary on the leg strap just above the friction buckle. t It's the year of the Pig.

Thanks for the description. I was watching video footage of one of my flights, and noticed a slight "flicker" from the trailing edge of the leg wing every now and then. I could see no cause for it in my body position. What you say about the toes in makes perfect sense. Thanks! t It's the year of the Pig.

That's for my 10 year old cypress, which never had an 8 year check, with 4 years old batteries! That's how! t It's the year of the Pig.

Our DZ went turbine less than 2 years ago. Apart for some C-130 dives, and a year in the US, all my dives have been out of Cessna's, but mainly bigger ones, like 210's and 206's due to our surface altitude. I AM at the DZ every weekend, and from 1st lift to last. I have got tired of it sometimes. My 1st 1000 were 4 way, then I did a year of nothing but AFF and Tandem. Then I got into CReW hardcore, then flat out AFF with a few Tandems, and now I'm learning to freefly and doing some birdman. Skydiving is so big - and there is so much stuff to do and see - and so little time. I was 23 when I started - and I'm nearly 42 now. So little time! t It's the year of the Pig.

That would be 25 dead, and 390 wounded. Bummer. t It's the year of the Pig.

Don't think so... One of our instructors has been contracting up there for the past year - and he found nothing. There are a few in Zim - and one on again, off again in Kenya, (and the Kenyan boogie) but I know of nothing in Tanzania. (unless you want to base the Great Baranco Wall on Kili..) t It's the year of the Pig.

Sounds like just about every countries fighting man to me. Been there, been that, but for another country. t It's the year of the Pig.

Of course there's a link! Any idiot can tell there's a link! The US supplied both Bin Laden and Sadam Hussein with weapons! There's your link. You're all old friends. You guys are always quoting this "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" bullshit. They're not your friend. They're the enemy of your enemy. And as it turned out, they're your enemy too. Both Bin Laden and Hussien are free. Now suck it up and live with it. t It's the year of the Pig.

Mine was gone for 6 months for it's 4 year check. When I got it back - it gave nothing but shit for 2 years till I changed the battery. Then it worked fine. During that time I heard tons of excuses, from the operating tempreture of the LED to the fact that my container was too small and the unit was under physical pressure. I went out and bought a smaller reserve. You can imagine my disapointment when the unit still misbehaved. My 8 year check was due 2.5 years back - but I though - fuck em. I didn't send it. If it aint broke - don't fix it. t It's the year of the Pig.

Yeah! If he'd carried on like that for another week... he'd have been really tired! 500+ in 24 hrs is awesome! Johannesburg Skydiving Club did 100 jumps in 12 hours for 4 jumpers earlier this year, so I know all about the packing logistics! The jumps are a poor measure of the time spent, the places seen, the experiences shared. I'm looking forward to the next jump! Been a day already! t It's the year of the Pig.

3 landings at 5000ft ASL loaded at 1.6+, and no problems at all. t It's the year of the Pig.

I enjoyed it. I'm aware of the mis truths - but a lot of Americans tend to shoot each other or themselves... We have a similar culture here, but with 2 illegal weapons for every legally owned one - and a high crime rate, I guess that's to be expected. t It's the year of the Pig.

Thanks! It's always so depressing writing ?001 in your logbook. It's a long way to the next 1000 - as I'm only doing about 350 a year! t It's the year of the Pig.

And don't forget to maintain altitude awareness, and get sufficient horizontal seperation before pull time. Practice your reserve drills. Have the skills needed to land in an open area, under a level wing, and flare for landing, preferably into the wind. And wear your seatbelt. And brush your teeth at least twice a day. And eat your vegetables. And stay out of the sun. (It's better than using sunblock) And don't eat Genetically modified foods. And cut back on red meat. And don't use asbestos heaters. And be aware of your blood pressure and have your colesterol tested. And never have unprotected sex - or better still, abstain. And cut back on your salt intake. And don't use any recreational drugs. And keep your firearms out of the reach of children. And check the medication you have at home and dispose of out of date articles responsibly. And don't drink alcohol to excess. And stop smoking. And try not to live near high voltage power lines. And don't stay on your cell phone too long cos it may cook your brain or give you cancer. And remember, Carbon Monoxide is a killer, and you can't smell it. And check the batteries in your smoke detectors. (You DO HAVE smoke detectors, don't you?) And don't run with sissors! And try not to cook everything in a microwave oven. And no playing with pointed sticks. It's all fun and games till someone loses an eye! And learn about "Rabbit starvation" And learn to cut your fingernails with one hand, so if you lose a hand - you'll be OK. And don't forget to call your mom EVERY DAY. Cos she worries. t It's the year of the Pig.
