I am not saying that it is right or wrong though it is what I expected.... Manufacturer saying "it is not us its the users fault" just seems to open a door that I cant imagine anyone wants to have opened.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

What would happen if without wear goggle?
sdctlc replied to FlyinDawg's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am suprised by the response I read. I have made MANY full terminal Freefall jumps with out goggles... I can see fine but my eyes will water a little bit. No pain or real vision issues. Addimittly it is not as "crisp" in terms of vision as having goggles bbut really not bad. If I am missing goggles I am not going to fret too much Scott C. Is that the Spectre noted in your profiule? Nicely behaved even with that lineover... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Well, Not huge flocks but 3 nice 3 way flocks at North West Skydivers http://nwskydivers.com/index.htm north of Seattle! Thanks for the fun jumps Paul and Tony! Awesome views from 14K. A very cool side note, with this porter owner has it set up with both side doors able to be opened and used!! We wre launching out each side. Sorta a "Ready Set Go" then under the plane you see basically another wingsuit flyer like a mirror of you looking back at you from the other side. Really cool visiual!

Strong Service Bulliten: http://www.makeithappen.com/spsj/Ser...tin24.5.06.pdf I guess lots of speculation can end. the TM improperly adjusted the harness according to the manufacturer.. Bummer for him.... I hope it does not legaly come back and bite him. Can it with wording like this from the manufacturer????? Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Beezy, I have a HC40 with the Sony .6 lens and have had great luck. I will see if I can get a frame grab from a tandem with me docked to show the field. Have had great luck with it.. Hard to pass on a $35 wide angle, its almost worth it to try compared to the costs of many other options out there. I did and as I noted above, I have had great luck with it Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Searching around in old posts and came across this. I have been posting over there some as well as here. Skydiving Forums seems pretty small, not the 400lbs gorilla that is DZ.com!! but some good info pops up now and then. Always nice to have another place to wasste work time, yeah like I need more of that. SSHHHH dont tell my boss... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Well since it has its 8 year and assuming it is good through the end of 09 you looking at about 3.5 years. You will have one battery to change at about $75. Say you have some shipping you will have a total of $500 in the unit till end of life (assumes dead date of 12/09) That will break down to approx 43 Months (from now) at $11.63/month. Yearly cost is $139.54. If you bought a new unit the yearly cost is higher over the life of the unit so save the cash for a new unit in 2010 and get this one. Looks to pencile out to a good deal.. If not let me know where it is as I might be interested in it! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Took my daughter earlier this evening and it was F'n funny! thumbs up for my little corner of the world... Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Is that price plus jump and video edited ? Do you give the passanger the video that day or do you send it to them later? Are you supplying the disks or tapes and your computer or editing equipment, i.e. the DZ is not giving anything towards your supplies? Finally what is the passanger paying for a video.... I hate the fact that it was 10 min of my life I was forced to waste. It was like a train wrecka nd you could not stop watching... But somehow funny Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I actually like the poster of looking out a cockpit of a Cessna (It looks like) at some airport on the back wall.. Looks like diverse interests though given there is a couple of weights, folded ping Pong table, pretty purple ball.. I would say it is a brief glimpse into his world.. It was hard to see at first with the shiny wings Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Probably get one made at a place like this: http://www.thestampmaker.com/default.aspx Good luck Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I looked and there are a number of options that are recomonded for wingsuit canopies. Saw the best choices suggeted to be the Spectre or the Triathilon in terms of opening conisanticy. Then to the Pilot then Sabre 2, with a balance of Fun and openings. Finally on to the "Jump what you want" theories and more aggressive canopies. I am looking for something probably along the less aggressive side for Wingsuit. I have a nice fast eliptical that I dont want to fly with wingsuit and a 9 cell & 7 cell eliptical that are relatively docile I could use but am thinking a canopy in the Spectre or Tri (other suggestions welcomed) might be best. That said what loads are people using with the spectre or Tri with wingsuits. Trying to balance the opening and fun factor.. I was thinking about a 1.3 to 1.5 load but am curious as to the trend that is there. After looking and there are a number of outlyers, i.e. people jumping small high load canopies but the trend I noted was more docile. I am just trying to dial in the load on the canopy that has worked best for people. Thanks Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

This thread is very random. You profile is not correct.. I cant imagine that the Samurai was a suggested canopy even lightly loaded for a low jump number person as it is eliptical. I dont care how "Talented" you are. Again this is based on you saying 138 jumps and only 31 noted in the profile combined with just 5 stated months in the sport I am just guessing it is total of jumps under 200. It is hard to take advice from the internet as everybody is different and does differnt things that only someone that knows how you fly may have seen. Any advice on the internet and specifically from this board is based on just speculation from your statment nd your profile combined with vast generalizations and basic safty guidlines. Scott C. I will see if I can get a couple of people to come along. Always good to come over the hill.... If you dont like the 12mb option I figured out how to make a smaller option.. The Real Player version is only 3MB dont even bother with the 1.6mb WMV, horrible sound and tiny picture.. www.IsleofSkye.us/SDCVideo.html Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Way cool a few weeks back.. Got the video from Tony (tr027) and slapped it together and its up at: http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=3871 Not bad for a first flight.. It made me smile and I am expecting many more in the near future.. Cool to have that New feeling after 3000 other jumps... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Yeah it sure does look like fun. You could see the sync between them just smoking along and then it started to slip a couple of times and they got nipped for it with the 2 deductions. That dive was completely "Flow" and anything that gets even slightly off can result in a bust... I sure as shooting know about the flow issues but if you took that dive and put it into slow mode, NO WAIT "super slow" mode, then and only then are you approaching the flow problems we ran into on my team a few years back That was flat out fun to watch..

That is rteally a "Stir the Pot" statment and there is no backing up of the issue that you tossed out? Espically given the performance that they posted with basically no jumps (due to injury), yeah they did not win but it was at a very high level. I am not in the know with the team nor do I know the plan they have in place regarding training but If you have the training schedule posted it and it showed no traning then maybe you are on to something but I think this can basically be classfied as a "Troll" post... unless there is some reason that your saying that?? Is this like the "I dont have to tell my sources" comming from a reporter??? just my initial impression on reading the post..... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
