  11. Who knew she could pass something along that was such a public service message.. Right before a big boogie weekend no less.. Guys BEWARE: Note: When you finish reading - Make sure and open the Beer Demo at the bottom.... Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties & local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman. Many females use a date rape drug on the market called "Beer." The drug is found in liquid form and is available anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, or from taps and in large "kegs". Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and sleep with them. A woman needs only to get a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no strings attached sex. Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several beers, men will often succumb to the desires to sleep with horrific looking women whom they would never normally be attracted. After drinking beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that "something bad" occurred. At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life's savings, in a familiar scam known as "a relationship." In extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer term form of servitude and punishment referred to as "marriage." Men are much more susceptible to this scam after beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females. Please! Forward this warning to every male you know. If you fall victim to this "Beer" scam and the women administering it, there are male support groups where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter with similarly victimized men. For the support group nearest you, just look up "Golf Courses" in the phone book. 15. I have to agree on teh top 4. I think if Storm was in the bottom 3 last night they would have tossed 2 out. The final show is in 3 weeks and they needed to get 2 out this week and 2 out next to get to the final 3/? Go figure... Personally I think that Toby has the best voice for the band but needs more stage presence. I had Magni as 2 but Ryan seems to be moving up to that slot but it is a toss up between those two. Dilana is good but I think she showed herself as a bytch last night and the band has to jive together some what and I dont see her fitting in well. I also said fropm the begining that I dont see that group with the existing 3 in place being fronted by a woman. I could be wrong but I think the other three might be better fits, though they might need some stage polish.. Just my $0.02 Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  16. Sent off! Hope she has a great time! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

  21. You hvae to figure out the fair value cost based on the total $ into the unit to get to end of life. I had a conversation about this the other day about the value of a used cypress 1 for sale. To really get to the core of the argument you have to figure the yearly cost of a cypress! It is pretty simple and then you compare it to new ownership yearly cost. A new Cypress 1 was going for about 1200 average. Add together 5 battery changes (every 2 years for $75) and the 4 and 8 year checks at $160 each you get a total duration of life investment of approx $1895. Given a Cypress has a 12 yr +3mo life span, running all 147 months gives a $12.89/month or $154.70/year operational cost over the life of the unit.. That stated, you can get your money's worth out of a unit with a any number of years left on it for any price less then the noted $154.70 yearly cost. I see units on E-bay and other sites for all different amounts. One unit on E-bay recently sold for $650 delivered and since it needed a 8 year check and also one more new battery to get it to the end of life after DOM +12 Years + 3 Months, this particular unit had 2.75 years left to its "dead date". with a total cost to the buyer of $980. That breaks down to $356/year which is well above the break even mark. Some one should have paid attention in Math class To look at it form a different point of view, if that same cypress had the 8 year check done it would have broken out to a total of ~$263/year, yeah it is still over the yearly from new cost.... Basically the bidding got crazy and the cypress should have been worth about $425 total cost to get it to end of life to compare to a new unit. Now that you feel all hope is lost and it is not good to get a used Cypress and say your low on cash. Look at the numbers and find a cypress that pencels out. Lets find a unit with only 2 years left of total life. If it has a current battery and has the 8 year done you should be able too buy it for ~$300 to $325 since it does have value compared to cost of a "from new" maintained unit for the new owner. You might even be able to argue that there is a premium to the unit and go as high as $350 but that is not a straight numbers argument so ignore that thinking. Realistically that $300 to $325 is better then the cost of new if your strapped for cash. Plus also not included is the small credit of $80 towards a new unit if you do it before the unit finally is considered dead. The bonus to this thinking is that you'll have the time to save some more money for a new unit in a few years.. I have never understood the ranting of people that claim the cypress is worth nothing if it only has a year or even 2 years left.... If you crunch the numbers you will find value..... This rant is from my conversation with a friend that paid too much for a used cypress because he wanted to save money. He could have saved himself an expensive lesson but he (NOT the one described above but close) did not.. If you can buy new Cost of ownership is lower with the cypress2 at about $128.17/year but if you cant afford a $1200 new unit you still can get a fair deal and be able to save for that new unit while still jumping if you DO THE MATH! Scott C. Disclaimer is that ~costs noted are in USD as I don't know the Pound or Euro service or battery rates... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  22. #2 just flat out is a nice Picture! Who took the pics and what were the settings and what camera and lens? (If you know) Sorry the camrea guy in me came out while looking at them Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  23. I agree but on the same token, every whuffo that hears about an accident involving a parachute will stick that in the "Skydiving is stupid" file in their brain, even if it is by no means a skydiving accident. You can educate people on how to fly a parachute and on all of the issues that you noted but someone doing something stupid and dangerous will generate a huge negative effect on preceptions right or in most cases wrong... If the guy that killed himself had no skydiving experience he should get the coveted "Darwin" award for embarking on a stupid and dangerous activity with no idea what he is doing or for the consequences that may happen, and in this case did happen. My point was that yeah it has been done but with skydiving equipment but that it is not prudent and can kill you, Even with experience with parachutes it may still cause a harsh ending. People will do what they want and try their damndest to kill themselves with or without experience. If your going to be stupid and ignorant you had better be tough or at least have good life insurance Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  24. I also know of many who have also done it including me. Was it fun sure but of those that I know of as having done it, 1 was badly hurt and took a long time to recover while the other (about 10 years later at a different location) was killed I see this come up as a fun thing to do but after the first incident I saw with a very long recovery time I suggest against it and have refused to do it. Squares really dont do so well tethered and they can easily get turned out of the wind line. When that happens, they pile drive you into the ground.. That is what happened to the fatality, active current skydiver, playing around, some how got turrned enough away and could not get it corrected back into the wind before impact. Died later that day after a medic flight to the trauma center. You can say I am being harsh or have a bad outlook on this but I guess I do and its for a good reason. It is an activity that I see as an accident waiting to happen if you use a skydiving square.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
