I would love to think there is a simple fix to respond to the incidents last weekend. I watched the first incident and really wish I had not. After reading both threads in the incidents forum and thinking about the causes I dont think there is really anything that USPA can do.. You yourself said it above (bolded area) that it was a stupid mistake. Lets take it a step further and look to most previous open canopy incidents dont you think the same statment would hold true there as well and the same conclusion would apply.. To think about a regulation possibility, if the canopy load / jump experience chart that Briam Germain has been promoting and that I seem to recall the USPA was considering in one form or another was in place, it would not have made a hill of beans difference. Both (3 if you count Jay the injured non-fatal) involved last weekend had many thousand jumps worth of experience. I dont see swooping going away... I dont see slow and fast canopies comming into a landing area as somthing that USPA can regulate.. Maybe at the DZ level but it has to be at the personal or individual level I am guessing.. Hopefully individual self restraint in certian conditions/environoments would help. I would love to believe that would happen but I saw in Eloy last weekend, right in the face of the incident, a closed main landing area and swoopers going big in the alternate area but only with more slow canopies around.. That is the prime example of the problem as I see it.. I would love to see something good come from last weekend and I hope that jumpers think and adjust.. That said, as a self regulating and individual sport, I dont know that USPA can lay down the law and make a fix it all BSR "guidline" Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I looked at that item from BoneHead when I was looking to convert a old bonehead Mindwarp I had to a "Still Only" helmet. I have a full Bat Rack but wanted something different for WS flying. I decided to go with a home made sub $2.00 T bracket from Home Depot for my mindwarp. I used the extra cash I saved to buy another Stroboframe set off of E-bay for about $40 so I can quick change my still between my 2 camera helmets. I will try and snap a picture and post it tomorrow. As a side Your set up looks good though other then no quick release but that might not be a big deal if you just want to leave it on the helmet. I will have to head down to the DZ to take a look... and try and get a few WS flights in with ya! Scott C. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I concur with the above thanks and still owe / want to buy you and Amy a beer or drink of choice when I see you next... That was extremely generous of you. Your 4-way looked like a great time in there as well! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Are you calling me a "lawn" now?? Must be some strange California term of endearment. You Cali people just seem to have too many strange ways to keep up with. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I had looked at this stuff before and noted the XTi but have not found it for the XT. I thought the XTi wahad a bigger LCD but maybe the XTi armor would work on an plain old XT?? Anybody know? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Now you have the camera, and have a line on the switch.. Can we expect to see pics in the next week or so from that Badd Ass camera! And I mean that with as much jealously as I can muster!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I figured that you might like a few of those! Iam guessing that they might even end up on your "I Love Me" wall! Thanks for the flights! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Rolex of alti's was how it was described when I bought mine a few years back. It had just been released and I got a custom face plate. -->Awesome

I have a sabre 1 170 loaded at about 1.25 to 1.3. Have had fantastic luck with it and the WS regarding openings. Have gotten a few openings with line twists and no problems at all in the time from opening to untwisted. Most I have had was 2 or 2.5 twists so noththing really radical. Most of the time it opens awesome... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

OK, here are a number of pics. I took a bunch and these looked good. They are reduced in size and a separate page should open up off the link page for each. A higher quality can be linked at the bottom of the page.. Fun time andthanks again to all that were there flying. Eloy Pictures Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

The boogie was a fantastic time. Lots of fun. I will get some pictures up later today. Scott was doing a number of first flights and going with us on flights. He also gave a really good seminar in the hanger on Fri evening. Thanks to all the birdies I met and flocked with. We had people from ElPaso, Nebraska, Toronto, Seattle (me), some localsand a few places I cant think of right now. Thanks for the jumps and letting me fly with y'ALL!! Most loads were between 13 and 14K but I got a couple where I synced in witha formation load to fill the plane and got some 16K+ flights, yes O2 was flowing in the plane.. those were fun.. Only bummer bird wise was that on the first load of the day on Sat. After a fun 3 way, Sean (monkey) hurt his ankle/leg on landing and was/is out of jumping for awhile. I am not sure if it was broken I heard it was sprained then heard it was worse (after he went to go have it looked at) but I will let him fill in the details on that Some pictures o follow later today! Thanks again to all the people down in Eloy flocking and a big thanks to Scott for what he was doing there! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Well you have to figure out what it is worth yto you. What I mean is that if your not going to jump much with winter and where you live is the Tunnel time going to help in 3-4 months when the jumping locally to you picks up again. Are you planning on traveling to warmer DZ over that time? If you can get to and from Denver for under $100 you can blow rust off when your closer to steady jumping then. By geting the camera now you have a chance to play with it and get it set up as you want. The playing with it part is important as a good knowledge of pictures on the ground helps in the air in terms of settings and such for better shots. I would lean towards the camera if I had to pick as you can get somethng out of it that will help later directly. Not that the tunnel would not help it just depends on what you plans are for the next few cold months. All that said just make the Credit card companies happy and do both, you only live once!! I bet you do look like that! We can compare new phacros! Who knows after a few days you might have more jumps on yours now then I have on mine (damn NW weather and fog at Lodi).. Looking forward to seeing it in the air on Friday and Sat! Maybe see you at the DZ late Thurs night when I get there........ Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Damn you for your bad influence. I just booked a last minute ticket on some Frequest Flyer miles I had to burn and I will be ready to Flock or whatever in my Pharco Friday Morning. Goal is to start on the 8AM load on Friday morning, or whatever load is it gets going with. I am ,looking to JUMP LOTS!! I get to the DZ LATE Thurs night so I will see who is in the bar.. Basically this is a quick hit trip.. Jump all day Friday and till ~4pm on Sat then I boogie home for other things with the family on New Years Eve/Day Looking forward to the some Flocks. I will have my Still ready to go for some hopefully good flocking pics! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Very sad loss but not unexpected as he has been out of the news other then reports of poor health. His much hated/disputed/critized pardon of Nixon is now looked at as one of the best things he did to help the country move on after the watergate and Nixon fiasco. Though he was the butt of SNL jokes and may not have been the most eloquient President it is safe to say he was probably the best choice for the position he found himself in. Scott C. Jump numbers before first wingsuit flight
sdctlc replied to SkyDivinRyan's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I had a late start I guess, 15+ years and well over 3000 jumps till my first WS jump.. Better late then never I guess!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
That may be true, BUT Glen was there. He was looking for a excuse for his new suit which I am sure was the entire reason for getting Monkey to stop by Perris and away from his family He wanted some one to play with... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

That is AWESOME!! How does you Phacro fly?? How many flights did you get in? Any numbers on speeds or time?? Just Curious!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

You were luckey.. Ours got back on yesterday (Monday) after going out thurs evening. No power but house was warm from propane fireplace/furnace. Blower did not work but the fireplace along did a good job keeping warm.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I am guess your using them for the "slippery" stuff then?? Did your company always use theat or was the previously available fabric used? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I cant blame you. We had that type of weather (we thought) and some low clouds comming through a week or so ago. Grabbed a 182 and flew around for awhile and decided to go over to a nearby DZ to see what was up. A load was up and turned out it was warmer in the air then on the ground by more then 10 degrees. Stupid us, Not having our rigs wihth us we got back into the 182 and flew back to the DZ and got a few in.. Goes to show you never know... Well if some one put thermals on then I guess you do .... . The good thing is it got my flying bug going again, not that it was not there before but I have been fighting to get flight time for this and that reason.. Not all of us can fall out of bed into our hanger .. Yes I am jealous Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Do you have any more pictures? I would like to see the Releases a little closer. Is it going to be a wear point or something that needs to be replaced or require any special service. A few more pics would be nice though, just for curiosity sake. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
