On my HC40 I have a Sony 0.6x for shooting tandems and it matches pretty good with my 15mm Sigma on a XT. The still is a little wider but I like the set up the way it is. When I am running my Hand cam I have a royal 0.3x lens The wider lens seems to pull more light into the chip. Shooting in the plane really picks up light in the windows and darkens the face withthe 0.3 compared to the 0.6 Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

sdctlc replied to Skydive2's topic in Photography and Video
Not sure stock but just did a Yahoo search and found the following..... http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=stroboframe&itemnum=300-VID Good luck Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
Pictures are nice and my first thought was "WOW that is a Big Wing" Is that much wing causing you any issues with the airlocks? What I mean is they are probably preventing colapsing the wing some for pull... I might be wrong with the airlocks but they are on both leg and arm wings with this suit variation, right? BIG wings seem to be something that could/will cause the suit to bite unless your not current, experienced or both... Not a suit for inexperienced pilots I am guessing... Both are very nice rigs. I have one of each in my rig collection and like them both very much.. No issues in packing a Wings or a Infinity reserve. The Wings reserve packing con is BS, sorta like people bytching on a Racer, once you (a rigger) have done it a few times and have learned its "tricks" your good to go. There are tricks to packing most rigs though. Both are comfy and service is good on both sides as well. Velocity recently moved and have a longer lead time now then Sunrise. Pick what you like and what fits into your time frame and get it... This site will show again and again on questions like this that opinions are like A$$holes , everybody has one... Scott C. I am guessing there will ba a few of us in WA in Aug. Two events I can think of come to mind towards the end of August, one at Shelton (Formely Kapowsin) the Leap ofor Lupus Boogie and NW record attempts for a 70 way on Monday. The following weekend is the All of The Above boogie in Molalla Oregon, about 200 miles south. IT is also a good time. The LFL boogie info is from Events section is http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2824602#2824602 I have not noted anything other then a blurb in the Wingsuit section on the Oregon boogie but it is Aug 24-26 Skydive Oregon’s ALL OF THE ABOVE BOOGIE! There should be people doing stuff though in WA depending on the time frame your here will sway you one way or another.. BUt on any given weekend DZ's in WA withing about 2 hours of Seattle: Snohomish flys a Caravan Shelton (Kaprwsin) flys an Otter Bremerton flys a Turbin 207 (smaller then a Caravan with 7 jkumpers) Toledo has a Caravan Mt Vernon (hit or miss on when they are operating lately) has a Porter Scott C. Karen, I do a lot of camera jumps on my Samurai. Good performance and I have had great openings on the canopy... Crossfire has a good reputation on soft openings as well... Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Thre are a few copies of "Freefalling Together" and "Blocking Together" from the late 80's early 90's that were great in providing formation ideas. I have a copy of both that I pull out now and then for orgainising. Great ideas in there.. I searched and pulled this pic http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=38466; from a previous thread showing a couple of pages from the book. Went out of print years ago and they are very hard to come by now. I feel lucky i have my copies.. Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I had Kelly send me a pair of corners for my rig and I put them in on friday hoping to jump it this weekend. The install was quick, easy and looks good.. I will have to wait for next weekend to give them a whirl! I know that many of you said "No Problem" but I like to try to take some of the variables out of the mix so I figured it was a small thing to add them. Besides, it was fun to doink around with the rig anyway. A bonus is not only does my main fit better, the rig will match my new wingsuit, here in about 3 few weeks hopefully.. Who wants to buy a Phantom built new last October, its in great shape!! It will get tossed in classfieds in a few weeks I am guessing... Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Dont over work it and set realistic goals, you know the teams level and always shoot for improvement. That said, expecting a huge bump in what you do at a competition compared to what you do in training is a tough one given the new environoment. Coming from a non-Otter DZ for the competition can be overwhelming and the one area that IMHO sets the mood for the jump is on the exits. If you can launch a solid exit DO IT!! With a few minor variations on the good exit your can get into the air clean and most likely VERY close to the 1st point. It will be tough mentaly to try and launch everything and then funnel it and feel like your chasing and rush. A competition is not the time to try new exits as it can easily take some of the fun out. I would suggest getting a solid launch that can be transitioned from as you will find your ahead time wise compared to a poor lauch of the first point. Also this will take some of the edge off the first competition jitters with the exits. IF you feel good about the exit it will translate to the rest of the dive but if your worried about if you can get the exit off some what clean, then that can also translate to a not so good dive, espically if you dont hit it as clean as you wanted.... I am focusing o the exits as I found when I was working on my early 4-way competition jumps, that was the big thing that translated to the rest of the dive, i.e. the single biggest make or break mentaly, for me at least. I would focus so much on a akward exit to get it right I would find myself having to re-group mentaly in the air after it was launched to get the dive flow going. Having a solid exit made it easier as I was learning and getting more confident at the jumps to go through the dive with some success.... Just my thinking on the subject.. Scott C. Dont forget to add the new PF Ghost in that list.. But that sadi I agree different suits will suit different people and styles. The old saying comes to mind ---> A superior pilot in an inferior "wingsuit" will more often out perform an inferior pilot in a superior "wingsuit"... Scott C. Are you sure your statistical calculations are correct, I was thinking it may actually crunch out to be more like 6% Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Why am i not surprized? Does this finally settle the best gliding suit debate? bsbd! Yuri. Probably not unless you look at the % of suits by make. It would be interesting to see the complete list of positions and the suits used, from all competitors. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

QuoteWe now have Skydive Atlanta and Skydive Kansas as participating drop zones for the Leap For Lupus event this August 17th-20th. They will donate a part of the proceeds from their tandems that weekend Quote That is cool that they are donating a %. Can I assume that K-pow is doing the same!! Scott C. Tony, The new design sounds interesting, hard to call it a Mach 1 though as it soounds to be completely different then current production suits. 4" is a huge amount of wing to add not to mention the increased sweep and other mentioned tweaks Do you have a better side by side of the two? The flying one posted shows the leg wing inflation very good but hard to see the wings. Also I am not quite getting the wing attachment design.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
