  1. Have a rigger look at it. The end of the line has to be cut at a sharp angle, or else it works its way out like this. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  2. i dont think aerodyne uses a coating on theirs. Like the ones on the PD reserve. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  3. It was him but not a b with drew. An A. You know the one. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  4. Thast whats a bit wierd. This jumper has made 13 jumps i packed for him. It's just this one that got me a bit funny. Just one of those things i guess. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  5. I have no issues with my packing. But a friend asked to borrow my packed rig and i got a knot in my stomach. I have packed for this jumper multiple times. And i think i would feel different if i packed the rig knowing it was for him. But i packed it for me. Is that wierd? I mean the pack job is no different. Why the hesitation to give this person my rig? Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  6. I'ld love to win too. Thats why I plan on lying to Jeffro about the dates of Pond Swoop from now on. 3 years of Pond Swooping for me and 3 years of impovement. Who knows what'll happe next year. Keep your calander open. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  7. And you can blow your self. Competing isnt all about winning. Challenging yourself and improving arent bad goals either. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  8. You are right about that. It is a means to an end. And by cheesy, I dont mean the way it looks. I think its cheap. I would rather see people go further and further staying on the ground. We might not get as far as fast, but I think its pure swooping. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  9. Look, im not saying its not in the rules now. Im saying, AS A PERSONAL PREFFERENCE, I think popping up sucks. I would rather see distance swooping as a straight and level flight over the ground. Thats me, not you (and not you, Ian). Not wrong or right, opinion. Like my asshole, its mine. If I had the money to compete, i would not pop up. I just think its cheesy. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  10. Did the people in the speed course stay inside the course? Than they are fine. If you want more of a carve, make a tighter course. im not saying they have no skill. Jumper A who pops up might not go as far as jumper b who pops up. Im just saying...what I've already said. I think we could have killed two birds with one stone with staying inside a distance course. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  11. Not any longer, but completely under control. I have yet to have more than a 90 on my Neos. And once the canopy has found its heading during the first second of the snivel, it has not moved. It is the best opening canopy I have ever jumped. Imagine a canopy that opens as soft as a Crossfire2 and "does not" go off heading. Thats the Neos. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  12. I've flown the standard reserve, but not this one. I have a 149 packed where a 129 or 126 PD should go. Again, I have no idea what plans they have or if this will ever see the market yet. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  13. They have finished line trim charts if you ask for them. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  14. I know there is a lot to swooping. Thats why I would like to see popping up called what it was when I first saw it, the long jump. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  15. This has all been discussed before. The canopy does not sling shot you up by itself. You input on the rears with that amount of weight its just like flaring to hard with your first zp canopy, you get a lot of lift. And with the amount of speed you have from all the extra weight, you pop up. All things being equal, someone who pops up will go further than someone who stays on the deck. Im not saying they dont go far, and they are completely within the present rules of competition. But I would rather see what I believe to be a pure swoop of the ground. Call popping up a long jump or something else. Before popping up "popped up" in competition, someone might think it was a botched swoop where someone was in the corner if they came up off the ground that high. Again this is why I think pond swooping events bring everyone back down to a level playing field. Constant contact with the surface brings everyones swoops back to earth. Whatever, when I swoop, I like to be ripping accross the ground, thats what swooping is to me. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  16. i still say instead of weight restrictions, they should keep swoopers inside the 5 foot gate, just like speed, and no more problems with weight advantages Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  17. perhaps if we can strap on enough weight, we can go high enough to do another turn for even more hot swoop action. I still say swooping is when you are on the deck. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  18. You can contact Mel At Skyworks rigging or Kirk at The Chicago Service Center for any line trim info you might need. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  19. gotta love the pop up nonsense. Thats hardcore swooping at its best!! Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  20. I actually have an Icarus low bulk reserve in my rig, but they have no plans as of yet to go ahead with them. Just one they had around for me. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  21. Some of the stuff I've heard from the designers at Icarus is that they put the oversteer into the canopy so you can start your swoop with no inputs on the canopy. The more you jump it, you'll start to anticipate it and adjust for it. It starts to feel normal after a while. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  22. I think that number is way low. If you hustle you can make a lot more money than that. Last year I cleared about 25k packing and rigging. And that was half a year (no winter work). It's not an easy job, but there is a decent amount of money to be made if you want it. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  23. What I want to know is why you are talking about doing a 5 second delay on a 1500ft A? Why not just take the slider off? hehe Have I been possesed by Maggot? Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  24. Its not Incubus. Its The Crystal Method, "The Name of the Game". Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
  25. Well, the school does cease student operations at some point. They will make certain arangements, but on a case by case basis. My suggestion would be to jump your ass off now and try to get close to an A license. Then you're golden. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome
