  1. I honestly don't have an opinion on this topic. (Ideas, but no opinions,) because i don't care and my vote wouldn't count anyway. I've seen TM!'s i won't fly around. I have seen in my years of skydiving vidiots that didn't even have a A license. One of the best vidiots i've ever seen didn't even hace a C license. I've seen TM!'s lie about their jumps, get a D and obtain their TM1 licences. Did stuff go wrong, sure it did. Can it be regulated, of course. And by who? Do we want the USPA, or the FAA involved in this? I would think not. At the end of the day this is what it's about, in this order: (IMO) 1) Egotistical maniacs 2) Getting chicks 3) $$$ 4) Free beer 5) Notiriety, if you by chance get good enough to be somebody. IMHO, vidiots that are really good have a lot of natural potential, the rest is learned "On the fly" (No pun intended) I fly camera and shoot stills, but nothing commercial yet. There is one gentleman i'm going to ask who has years of experience, to ("Take me under his wing" Again, no pun intended) I've flown 3 different cam/video helmets which i have bought piece by piece and assembled them myself. They all work just fine. I researched and learned about my equipment on my own. I've never had a problem with the wings on my suits, or swoop cords, but i've been bitch slapped more than once by my port side riser when i was flying my Optik Illusion. Then i bought a FlatTop Pro from a skydiver who fell on hard times, i'll be putting it through it's "Sea Trails" this weekend. I've also got a hand cam glove which i haven't quite had the nerve to fly yet, i'll get there. The key is to learn your ewuipment first, from hard ware to fly ware. Learn to fly your body in any position, and practice your ESP's constantly, until your sick of them. Biggest thing: Check your egos and attitudes at the house prior to arriving for a day of skydiving please. They have no place on the DZ. As i said, my experience is very limited, so take what i say with a grain of salt. What would go big with me, is a "Mentorship Program" at DZ's. Yeah, i know "Wishful Thinking" -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  2. FT narrow, you won't regret it. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  3. You obviously don't know me. I'm being quite the gentleman. If a pissing contest is what i wanted...You'd know it, trust me. You be cool, and safe. (I have been "hearing you") -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  4. No, No, No. You severely misunderstood me. Those words never came out of my mouth. My whole premise was to cut away my camera helmet if i even suspect it's tangled up on anything. The reason i gave for this action is because if you dump at 2500 AGL, you've basically got 7-9 seconds to make the "right decision" Do you want to spend that precious time deciding whether or not your really snagged, or cut that high priced camera helmet away to insure no entanglement at canopy swap? You still haven't heard me say it. I will say this, yeah i know how much helmets, camcorders, ring sights, cam-eye 11's & still cams costs. I have 3 sets of them. The most expensive of them being around a 6K investment. I would cut it away in an instant if i even suspected it was tangled should things go wrong at deployment time. But i would not spend my last seconds on the planet dicking around deciding if it's snagged with my suspension lines or not. I've had riser slap like a mofo before. (Chest strap too tight) You'll know if your suspension lines are entangled way before you unlatch that camera helmet. Again, this is just discussion, and sharing of ideas. Again, take care & be safe. This is what i said: There ya have it. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  5. Yes, not a shred of doubt in my mind. Which can be replaced, unlike your life. Why would you even be considering cutting away your helmet cam if it's not possibly entangled, or could be at main release? You think for a moment. How much altitude have you lost by now? But nonetheless, if that's your procedure, then i'd advise you to stick to your guns. I could care less about a camera helmet. I can always build another. My theory is to jet the helmet first if i even think it's entangled in my suspension lines. So the suspension lines after cutting away the main canopy first wont have the drag of the canopy on them possibly and probably complicating the already bad situation. Let's see, i don't know about you, but i dump at 2,500 AGL. That doesn't leave enough time to dick around contemplating on whether your helmet is entangled in your suspension lines or not. No, not at all. This is my plan, should anything ever happen (And Murphy's law is ever present) So it could and may happen on any jump i make. If i fly camera long enough, i will have to deal with it. That's the reason i run through my EAP's constantly at home. I will improvise the procedure i've outlined, and i won't even think twice about it. Quotebut make sure you have your order correctly when the S$%& hits the fan.*** You too my friend. I'm not saying my way, or your way is right or wrong. No pissing contest here. Just two guys with two different theories, both of which IMO will work. But on this one, i think it best for us to agree to dissagree, and leave it at that. There's nothing i can say to you to get you to change your EAP's, (Emergency Action Procedures) and there's nothing you can say to me to get me to alter my EAP's either. Thanks for the discussion, and take care, be safe. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  6. When i mounted my CamEye 11, (On my Illusion) i drilled a hole where i wanted it just large enough for the top, outside beveled part of the rubber where the red switch goes through to be pushed through very snugly. I then just attached the bottom of the switch to the top part. Installed the pads, done deal & clean installation with NO WIRE going through any holes in the helmet. If you guys would like to see some pics of it, let me know. Be safe. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  7. These types of situations/scenarios should be considered at helmet selection time as well. I've heard a ton of camera/vidiots say "If i go in, i'm going in looking good" I say Screw that, i'm not even thinking twice, i'm cutting the helmet away, then the main and deploying my reserve. I also saw a vidiot under canopy below me once, he stayed with a line over intentionally to get low enough so he wouldn't have to look real hard for his main & free bag. I fly a FlatTop Pro, and an Optik illusion,(I'm more comfortable with the FlatTop Pro) both with excellent cut-away systems. If the situation presents itself i'll use them, no thinking twice. Stay safe guys! -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  8. I would suggest having gear you can jump in the interim, while waiting on your new gear. An Icarus canopy is well worth the wait. Surely you wouldn't want to jump a canopy that was manufactured in a week from scratch? With back orders, waiting on materiels and the workmanship, and YOU not being the only one standing in line for a Canopy, i can't understand your angst. Be glad you didn't order from Atair AKA: Cobalt. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  9. Sport RX Dot Com Or Go Here On Sport Rx.Com For Different Styles Just For Sky Diving! Good Luck! -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  10. I think about him every day. He was a "real" friend. Although he was not the safest skydiver in the world, i jumped with him. (To my dissmay at times) To this day i cant jump the DZ where he lost his life. I still shed tears when i think of him, and his contagious smile. Shane, know i miss you, and loved you as if you were my own brother. Thanks for the memories. God Bless My friend, i'll see you in heaven when i get there. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  11. After i get some pussy, and don't take a bath for a couple of days. OH the smell! J/K Chuck!
  12. The house is mine. We live in a rural area. I dont need to notify anyone for any reason. The Fire Cheif is a good friend of mine, i've alerted them so if someone reports it, they wont come over and try to put it out. AND, i cant go to jail in Lee County, Texas. I know too many people from PD to SO to the Court House. I know it must sound wierd to destroy a $150,000.00 home, but it is mine, and i want it gone. No chance of being charged with arson because it is not my intent to collect insurance money. what it amounts to is burning a woodpile, nothing more. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  13. My mother passed away last 27, August 2006. We live in the country and i don't want anyone else living in her house, and i cant stand the thought of all the good memories her house reminds me of. I can't even go in the house, it's just too painful, i am an only child. I'm going to burn the house down to the ground. Then i'll bull doze the rest of it flat as a pancake. I know this sounds nuts, but it's the only way i can deal with it. Or should i say i dont want to, or cannot? I feel that this will make everything just "Go Away" -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  14. Man, get over yourself. I'm not trying to crack wise, but i sense a ton of resentment in your remarks, because other's get to do what you weren't allowed to do. That's no reason to rain on someone elses parade. Is it your position that the USPA can't govern without your input? Surely not. TM1's will generally say who they will, and won't fly with. So i can't see running to the high school principle as it were. (The USPA) Why not complain to the Dz's S&TA first? Or why not use your experience to help in the training process of low time vidiots. I am a fledgling vidiot, maybe 100 jumps with a cam helmut so far. I built my own helmuts, i know they're not as cool as everybody else's, but that will come with time. I have not even asked to film anything, or anybody yet because i'm still in the experimentation stage with my different camera suits, and helmut cam setups. "Every man has got to know his limitations" Please accept my remarks in the spirit in which they were intended. Good luck, best wishes. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  15. Send it to the original manafacturer and have it cleaned and washed, approx: $40.00 USD. Have your main & reserve inspected as well. It would seem to me the rig had been used for swooping the pond and whomever was piloting it "chowed" more than once. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  16. My favorite exit wasn't listed. I call it the "Prop Blast Spiral Exit" I happened on it accidentally while on student status and just improved on it. Exit the jump ship facing the prop, and put one arm in front of you and see how many barrell rolls you can do before you get nervous. My max: 18, this was before i was jumping with a Pro-Trac i was at 6K when i finally looked at my altimeter, so i do not reccomend this type of exit for everyone. It will cause you to become complacent, and loose altitude awareness as well. My second favorite is "Back To Earth" and watch the junp ship fly away! -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  17. BillVon: No, this remark is absolutely absurd, if not idiotodacal. Chaves wants to "Corner The market" as it were to shut down American Oil Companies. This would cause a ressession you wouldn't believe. I never said the word "Boycott" anywhere.. All i'm saying is lets keep American $$$ in America. In the USA we have not built a refinery in over 30 years. We have 3 running at way less than half capacity because of the damage fron Katrina, thus the rise inl & gas prices. Cutting down on consumption is not an option, or do you think we'll have electric Airplanes one day? I have provided data, and information involving the oil industry for years on this site now, no one's listning. Chaves is currently joining forces with Cuba, Russia and North Korea. I'd say this is reason enough to "Cut Him Off" Let him eat his fucking oil. Chaves has killed a lot of boat skippers because they would not transport his oil because they were not being financially compensated. A lot of skippers ran their transports aground in retaliation, that got them killed as well. I strongly suggest instead of making the remark "Cut down on consumption" To take a proactive measure and hit him where it hurts....the billfold. My original post was to let those who don't know what he's up to. Chaves is a dick, and he'd no sooner kill you than anyone else. he's nothing more than the guy dangling the proverbial carrot in front of the horse, and riding a bike to work isn't going to change a goddamn thing, that's an assinine remark....IMO. "Wake up & smell the coffee, the bacon's on fire & the eggs are in serious trouble." I promise you, if the price of oil goes down in a sharp and steady decline, there will be millions of Americans out of work standing in the soup kitchen lines. Quotebecause that takes effort. If it can't be accomplished with a bumper sticker (or driving across the street to another gas station) we're not interested*** Speak for your self. IMO that's a totally BS remark. Do you have your finger on the pulse of America energy consumption? Do you have ANY first hand knowledge of our SOR capacities (Strategic Oil Reserves) and how much we have in them? Bush Sr. tapped them in 91, Clinton tapped them several times during his tenure for the military and to try and defray the rising costs of gas at the pump. Bush Jr. has also tapped into the SOR's.Here's the kicker, not one ounce of oil has been replaced, neither have we replenished our natural gas reserves that we store in undergrounf salt domes. I know where they are, i engineered several of them, and supervised the drilling process of at least 10 of them. Now, time to rethink your point of view? I would.Too many Americans are "Sticking Their Heads In The sand" because the easiest way to deal with this situation, is simplky not to deal with it. You seriously underestimate Chaves's Ability. So did George Bush when he attacked Iraq, he seriously underestimated the tenacity of his adversary, have we not learned anything? 18. NEWS FLASH: Chavez is NOW getting a Russian Weapons Factory built by Putin. The RUSSIANS are building an AK-47 Kalashnikov Assault Rifle factory in Venezuela , to give armament support to Communist Rebel groups throughout the Americas . Chavez NOW has IRANIANS operating his oil refineries in Venezuela for him. It is likely only a matter of time, if not already, before Chavez has Iranian built LONG RANGE missiles, with a variety of warhead types aimed at: Guess Who? CITGO is NOW in the process of Changing Its Name to PETRO EXPRESS due to the loss of gasoline sales in the USA due to the recent publicity of ownership by Chavez of Venezuela. Every dollar you spend with CITGO or PETRO EXPRESS gasoline will be used against you, your basic human rights, and your freedoms. He will start wars here in the Americas that will probably be the death of millions of free people. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT because Chavez is starting to feel the loss of revenue from his holdings. HE NATIONALIZED (took it) CITGO. This is a very important move that everyone should be aware of. ANNOUNCED JUST RECENTLY, CITGO, BEING AWARE THAT SALES ARE DOWN DUE TO U.S. CUSTOMERS NOT WANTING TO BUY FROM "CITGO-CHAVEZ", HAVE STARTED TO CHANGE THE NAME OF SOME OF THEIR STORES TO: "PETRO EXPRESS" DO NOT BUY FROM "PETRO EXPRESS" EITHER!!! "PETRO EXPRESS" IS ALSO 100% CONTROLLED BY "CHAVEZ." KEEP THIS MEMO GOING SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING. BOYCOTT "CITGO" AND "PETRO EXPRESS".............MAKE SURE THIS IS PASSED ON TO EVERYONE YOUR E-MAIL LIST IN THE UNITED STATES AND OUTSIDE OF AMERICA TIME TO DRAW THE LINE IN THE SAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No Pun Intended. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"

Cool! I'm sure if you like it, you will buy thr program. When you purchase it though, you only get two licenses. So whatever you download it onto, make sure the CPU will be with you for a while. If you do change CPU's just call the IT department of Adobe, and a tech will help you out with a transfer. You can also order some backup Cd's. I originally copid the program onto my 160 Gig External Hard Drive and tried to put it on another machine....NOT! It won't do it. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  22. I don't know how big the container it's in, but it may well be "Root Bound" Those plants dont need water but every 7-10 days. They do however need loads of sushine, and the proper pruning. It's obvious who ever had it before cut the trunk and then two branches branched off of the main. Probably because it was getting too tall. Try doing an internet search on it, and see what it has to say. Some plant food of your choice, and some new potting soil wouldn't hurt it either. Good Luck! -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
