  1. Didn't they recall Novas long ago 'cause people were getting killed under them from unexpected collapses? Yes, I know they did. In fact I knew a very experienced rigger who was killed by one collapsing near the ground, that was right before the recall! By the way, I git hurt from hard openings of my Sabre over 10 years ago when they first came out, and at the time, that was the first ZP canopy I believe, don't crucify me if I am wrong! At the time, there was no other info about the dangers of ZP, and as such their first experiment was INHERENTLY flawed. They did not recall them, but maybe they should have. As it is they know there are problems with the canopy design which is why they made the Sabre 2, to correct for the problems. I tried a sabre 2, but didn't like it. Being slightly more eliptical, it opened more like and eliptical, which I don't like, diving and off heading sometimes, and flew more sloely like a square, which is not as fun as an eliptical. It did not have a good swoop. If I am willing to accept open like an eliptical I might as well enjoy the ride of an eliptical!
  2. Thanks for your consideration. You are really sweet! I wish others were as sweet and considerate as you!
  3. Wow, aren't you people mean! I thought the rules on this forum were no personal attacks and name calling! You hurt my feelings! Now I am going to have to go away, curl up in a ball, and cry! I can hardly see the screen as it is through the tears!
  4. By now I know how to pack my sabre so it is the finest of al canopies I have tried, but the bad stuff happened long ago, over a decade ago in my 20s when I didn't think anything of hard openings, it wasn't such a big deal back then since the sabre was the first ZP. Of course the one opening that broke the camel's back was packed by an unknown packer since the only other packer I trust was busy. I too have had spankers on the Specres I tried, they sniveled for 1000 feet then opened briskly, that sucked! I like vengences and stilettos, but they don't open as straight on as my sabre.
  5. by the way, that's not the first time I have been accused of going beyond- I do that all the time- something I am quite proud of- I'm extra ordinary!
  6. Not to worry, I waved my sterilization wand over it! I would lick my cat's butt! I am just afraid of people germs especially viruses that stay with you forever! Also, if I like the person I don't care- it's just the thought of having something that previously infected someone else you don't even know growing inside me- makes me feel invaded- like a terrorist attack
  7. oh, come on, there was a poll on suing the DZ, so I just thought I would take it one step further just for the sake of discussion! No need for any personal attacks! Soit gentille! Play nice!
  8. Thanks, finally a voice of reason! I wanted to say that same thing, but was afraid of the forum wrath! Just so everyone knows... it is not polite to kiss people on the lips if you have that virus, showing or not, unless the person you are kissing is aware of what you are exposing them to, just like any other communicable/venerial disease, and yes, cold sores are a venereal disease!
  9. Yup, do that too, but not obsessively. I carry antibacterial stuff with me to clean my hands. In Hawaii was with a guy at an event who had to shake everyone's hand. I warned him about it, but he ignored me. Next weekend he had to miss his spear fishing contest which he had always won for years 'cause he was sick. After that he got scared, knew I had something there, and carried a bottle of alcohol with him. Smart man, he learned the hard way, but he learned! My SOs have always been respectful like that and have learned!
  10. I love stillettos, fun to fly, and a 120 is perfect, but they can open off heading in a dive. I think I would like the slowest, softest, easiest tugboat just for safety sake. I'll have fun in the sky flying. I just want a gentle parachute to set me softly on the ground so I can go up in the sky and fly some more.
  11. I love the one I love and am repulsed by any other. It makes my skin crawl if someone else tries to even touch me! Unfortunately due to my Daddy's recent death I have to be in CA. with my Mommy and can't be there in DeLand with the one I love. I will be there for my B-day at end of March and his in April. Geography is getting in the way, but my love for him has not waned one bit! I just hope he still feels the same way. He is gorgeous and popular, and has lots of women after him all the time! I am cute too, but don't want anyone but him!
  12. What is the most reliably soft opening canopy, and not just a sniveler and popper like I found the Spectre to be? I have tried so many, and still I find my sabre if packed properly is the softest and most reliable, but then again it has 1000s of jumps on it by now. I got 2 badly herneated discs in my neck way back before '92 when it was new and had first come out. If anyone else packs it it might still hurt me as it did recently. With a neck injury already I need one which will not hurt me again. As it is medics say if I try to jump again I may end up in a wheelchair! I will not stop skydiving despite those odds, just need to know how most safely to do it now with a bomb ready to go off in my neck!
  13. Say, who's the sensor? Where did all the Patrique DeGayardon stuff go? I thought the beginning stuff was a wonderful tribute 'till people had to go and tarnish it with meanness! Can we have the beginning post back with all the fabulous websites to go see his accomplishments?
  14. I caught Hell from the moderator for posting something in the wrong place once and wanted to move it before I got scolded. Then I put it in the Woman's forum 'cause I thought they might be more sensitive 'cause they like talking about their appearance, but it disappeared from there! Just trying to play by the rules, something I was never very good at!
  15. No quite the contrary, I'm the one who has a hard time keeping the girls off of him! He does oblige me whenever I am around, but I fear those times when I am not. I turned germaphobe as an excuse for having dropped out of Med. school. Also I took way too much MicroBiology! I find if you avoid touching door knobs and public pens with your bare hands, you don't get sick that often. I just use the bottom of my slirt or shirt instead, works great! I used to get sick all the time, now I never do. I'd like to keep it that way. Also, so many people having cold sores is why I am so careful. I don't want them!
  16. Hey, no fair, you haven't read all my posts! Plus I already know everything there is to know about skydiving- don't need any advice from you clowns-don't know much about relationships though, am new to the game and am trying to learn! Just kidding!
  17. What about people opening under you unexpectedly? Hasn't that ever happened to you? That can be pretty scary! Or if you are on a zooload with bodies flying this was and that really fast! Don't know where they will go on break off! That can be scary too! N'est pas?
  18. Does anyone know where I might purchase me a plastic bubble?!
  19. Never got one, and if I ever do I will have to kill the last person I kisses, think they take 7-10 days to show up. I am very cautious and always ask people before I let them kiss me if they ever got any. It's the same as if they were on the lower half, in fact I've heard they are easily transmittable from the one place to the other through oral sex! Once you have them on your lips, it's that much easier to cross-contaminate yourself and get them down below through someone you kiss! AAAKKK!
  20. Yuck cooties! That'a why I carry spray! At least they don't show up on your face,... or do they.......
  21. Thanks for your concern... Yes, it is something I am terrified of catching! I have read every website on the stuff, and apparently you still can catch it even it sores aren't visible, especially if you have chapped lips or broken skin, that it is shedding all the time. They even make that disclaimer on the TV adds for Valrex and other herpes meds. How is it that all the other 80% of people got it? Did they all kiss someone with visible open sores? I am not being rude or mean, just curious and scared especially about all the kissing on DZs.
  22. 80% of Africans probably have HIV, but that doesn't make it OK for anyone else to catch just 'cause so many others have it. Just for the sake of discussion
  23. Neither are genital herpes or most communicable diseases life threatening for that matter, but I still wouldn't want any, and would be pretty pissed if someone gave it to me, especially if they didn't tell me ahead of time and let me make my own decision as to accepting the risk, just like with the HIV/tandem question!
  24. Since you seem to know about this sort of thing. How easily could you catch herpes symplex cold sores from kissing people at the DZ?
