  1. Seriously. I have a beagle that is just over a year old. I've resorted to putting a stake into the ground with a 30 ft. cord attached so she can run and play but not escape. And hell, if she escapes she's insanely hard to catch! It must be a breed thing... they have the hunting/sniffing thing... Luckily, she's not really a howler.
  2. I'm kinda jealous. I've always wanted to learn how to use Dreamweaver. Have fun for me Who is teaching the class?
  3. This evening around 9:30 pm, I'm loading up my truck with my current roommate's (soon to be ex-roommates stuff) and I hear this really loud noise. It sounded like a car but really freaking loud. So, I look down the street for a car (I live at the dead end of a street) and I see nothing. So, I think maybe a plane? We often have jets and aircraft fly over. But alas, a few seconds later, I see a mustang (with no lights on) fly into the parking lot (small lot and located right infront of my duplex) doing what looked like 70-80 mph and hit my roommate's dad's truck on the left, rotating it 45 degrees and into my roommate's car, he continues forward and rearends a white truck located across the parking lot. The white truck is pushed forward about 5 feet from the living room in the duplex next door. The mustang also hit a white car parked to the right of the truck. 4 cars pretty severly damaged. So, I'm scared shit-less, so I turn around and run into my duplex and annouce to everyone inside that there is a huge accident in the parking lot. Everyone runs outside. The cops are already there (the mustang was being chased), but the driver of the car is gone. The cops ask us to step back and my roommate and I go inside and lock the doors. A few minutes later, I'm being called back outside to talk to the cops. I'm the only eye-witness to the accident. Unfortunately, I didn't get a look at the driver. Nothing. They ask me to write up a witness report anyways, explaining with as much detail as possible. Meanwhile, we've got at least 2 dozen people checking out the scene. 4 cops and cars, a fire engine, a wrecker, and the whole screw. The story goes: the guy didn't have his lights on, so a cop was going to pull him over to have him turn them on. The driver of the mustang proceeds to speed up, run a stop sign and turn down my street and come barreling into the parking lot at a ridiculous speed and then runs away. Funnily enough, the dude left a cell phone in the car. It rang, cops answered. There's a cop at the dude's house. As far as I know, the guys still on the loose. That was 2 hours ago. What a night.
  4. https://records.txdps.state.tx.us/soSearch/soSearch.cfm ^^ That's the searchable registered sex offenders website for Texas. I just discovered 2 offenders within 2 blocks of my home .... should I be concerned?
  5. I suppose this is the best place to say this. There are very few skydivers that I have actually met. Aside from the people at my home dropzone and a few others... I have met very few other skydivers. Infact, I've stopped jumping because of interest and/or money. Or a weighted combo of both. But I still read dropzone.com and occasionally post. When I read about Shannon... I was dumbstruck. I thought surely it must be a joke. Now, I've never met Shannon... but I feel as if the noise I read in bonfire will never be the same without GFD posting. She seemed wonderful over the internet so I can only guess how great she was in person. In all seriousness, of all the people I have not directly met... Shannon's death touched me the most. More than I would have ever expected. Perhaps I'm crazy... but I'm obviously not the only one who feels this way. Strangers, be safe. Friends, be safe. And smile, I'm sure Shannon wouldn't want it any other way.
  6. funny as hell.... but no, absolutely horrible. I'm really glad that's a joke...
  7. Just cause its late and I'm bored... ... I think the weekend numbers thread should require that each post have an attached "appropriate" picture... boobies do not count... unless you did a jump topless and wish to share or something...
  8. The LUUUV Connection! ha! Sorry...
  9. Rotate cardio activities: running, cycling, rollerblading, ellyptical (those are the ones I do), etc. and I lift weights, usually only my upper body cause I've got pretty toned legs...
  10. usually comfy clothes... which is how I dress all the time.... well, usually... I am a college student, but not for much longer. But now, I'm in pajama pants and a t-shirt.
  11. Yeah, you really have to pay attention or you'll miss something. I think seeing it again would help clarify a few minor details...
  12. It's all cool. I'd like to hear some negative reviews from people who actually saw it (other than paid critics) .... so go see it and report back
  13. Maybe, but I mean as far as I could tell in the first half, the movie followed the book. I suppose the way I expected the movie to be (because of the book) was different... but still... it's a good movie.
  14. I read the first half of the book many months ago... got too busy and never finished it. I'd be interested to hear why people didn't like it...
  15. I saw it this afternoon and loved it! It's loooonnnggg but very very good. The way the movie was filmed was interesting. Different and some parts I even disliked the effects ... but all in all... I'd go see it again in a heart beat.

    One Wish

I wish that I didn't have a paper due tomorrow and therefore wouldn't have to write it. And I could solely focus on my test. Finals are fun.
  17. Normal? that I don't know... but I'm sure as hell doing the same thing you are. ... usually I don't get very far...
  18. Someone already mentioned it, but running. And however weird this may be... the movies "Top Gun" and the "Sound of Music" ... mind you, I rarely ever watch them now... usually they are just on for some background noise. However, if life sucks... watching them somehow lightens my mood... but I won't go into any more detail.
  19. Unfortunately, I know a few people are taking 'personal days' that the corporation offers them. I think they get 3 every 6 months or something. Yeah, it's a paid holiday. Now, if they're getting paid to not work and it's BECAUSE of the current protest. I say call up the EEOC or whoever and raise hell.
  20. I know of a company, that's not *small* that did not shut down today. With more than 50% of my friend's department being hispanic he's having a hell of a time working today. He thinks they should all be fired and replaced, too. Of course he's doing his job and their jobs and he's running around like a maniac today.
  21. As I understand it, legal and illegal immigrants are skipping work today. I hope they all get fired. It's all a tad ridiculous. Just be a legal immigrant. Is that all that hard? If so, go home.
  22. So who likes tan lines? What about the fake-n-bake tan look? The orange look? Or how about the 'my body hasn't seen the light of day in a few years' look? Discuss please... I'm curious. Personally, I don't like fake tans. It just looks... fake. yeah.
  23. Dave, I saw this thread and before I saw you had replied... I thought of you oh man.
