  1. Yes, I'm talking about the Series 7 Securities Licensing Exam - It's making me a little insane. Has anyone else studied for this exam? The very large amount of material you are required to learn is ridiculous and very specific and in my opinion, fairly inconsistent with any present day application.... well, at least with what I'll be doing. Right now, I'm studying pretty much all day long... I guess it could be worse. My employer could refuse to let me study at work, but still... Yeah and I know people are taking the BAR exam and I'm sure it's way more difficult, but I just wanted to complain about my current undertaking of mastering the art of options. *exhales* I feel a little better now.
  2. I think it takes 48 hours for antibiotics to make you feel any better.
  3. Find a good investment. Enjoy the money you'd get from interest. Keep working, add to your investment and watch it grow. Take some out to play once in awhile... but save it.
  4. I can't really complain about the episode because it kept me engaged and interested the whole time. However, I'm disappointed in a lot of the characters. I know it's TV and blah blah blah, but I think the show is a bit past the line and it gets on my nerves. Bailey is really the only character I appreciate on that show anymore. It's kinda sad.
  5. I semi feel the same way. However, the only reason I think I got the job I currently do was because of a well written and honest cover letter along with the fact that I graduated from a competitive university in 3.5 years with a good gpa. Is my degree useless? I'd argue YES about 90% of the time. You could think of it as a stepping stone on the journey of discovering what the hell it is that you really want to do for a living. You can scratch professional college student off the list. Heh. There is always grad school, ya know, once you figure out what you really want to do.
  6. OKay, with mostly guessing and SOME knowledge, I scored a 54%
  7. This semi sums up how I feel about the issue. Somewhere during my high school years, my mom sat down with me and talked to me about sex. She also encouraged me to ask questions, etc. I was raised in an environment where it was clear to me I needed to make my own sound decisions. My parents made sure I had the information I needed to do so and encouraged positive decisions. Also, I asked my mom when she first had sex - and ladies and gentlemen it was her wedding night - and my parents have been married for 27 continuous years. Call me crazy, but I respected that. Did I choose to follow in her footsteps? No, but respect it? yes. Also, during my high school years I was surrounded by people who (as I see this now) were raised with morals. All very very upstanding citizens. The "smart, overachievers" ... yeah, that was us. Having sex wasn't even really something I considered. I was too busy overachieving.
  8. Kinda depends on the defintion of missing... Since I just moved to a new town less than 2 months ago AND started a new job AND I live alone, my co-workers are the only ones who would miss me. And they'd 'miss' me because I didn't show up... However, one girl who hates it when I'm not there... because we are the only 2 girls in the office under the age of 36 (21 and 24 respectfully), would call me about 8:45 am wondering where I was/if I'm coming into work. On and I guess my boyfriend would notice that I stopped answering my cell phone, since we talk about 3 times a day.

    Excel

I guess I'll give this a chance here... I'm currently working on this massive excel project at work... I'm actually helping out some brokers who don't have time to do it themselves... But, I'm looking for a function that will check to see if the cells above and below it are between the amount in two other cells. Does that make sense? Also, if the amount is in the range, I want to tell it to do an additonal math function, if it's not I want the cell to be 0. The IF function won't do it. I tried the >= and
  10. That's what I was thinking.
  11. I'm wondering if any of you guys are able to work out over your lunch break? I clearly can't complete a work out, shower and roundtrip to the gym in 1 hour... BUT I'm thinking about asking for a 1.5 hour lunch break in exchange for showing up to work a half an hour earlier or staying later. Has anyone done this? Worth the 'haul ass' attitude/speed I'm going to have to take to accomplish this in 1.5 hours... but it's GOTTA make the work afternoon much more enjoyable. Anyone?

    Puppy Bowl

Also... straight from wikipedia... "Puppy Bowl is an annual three-hour television show on Animal Planet. Shown opposite the Super Bowl, it has the highest ratings of any show shown at that time on cable besides the Super Bowl. It features a number of puppies playing in a model stadium with no audience, minimal commentary and instant replay shots and bowl cam. As of 2006, a half-time show the "Bissell Kitty Half Time Show" is also included featuring a group of kittens taking the field on a large scratching post for 30 minutes. The first Puppy Bowl was shown in 2005. The puppies featured in Puppy Bowl are from shelters, and the show contains information on how viewers can adopt rescued puppies and help their local shelter. The bowl seems to have an age limit of 3 months, so there have been no recurring players. Puppy Bowl II Averaged 690,000 viewers for its broadcast (a 23 percent increase over Puppy Bowl I), equivalent to MSNBC's rating for the State of the Union address. 5 million people in total watched Puppy Bowl II throughout its three airings." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puppy_Bowl

    Puppy Bowl

Animal Planet is airing the 3rd annual Puppy bowl all day today. If you're an animal lover... check this out. If not, you'll probably think it's the dumbest thing ever.
  14. As much as you probably don't want to hear this... weight watchers really works. At 5'3 (and less than 140 lbs) I'm eating between 1200-1350 calories on days that I don't work out. Closer to 1500-1600 on days that I do 40 minutes of low impact cardio. And I do a complete upper body strength training program. I'm 21 and my metabolism is hella slow. I lose about 1 to 1.5 pounds a week when I eat and workout this way. Weight watchers, it works... I swear.

    Coffee

21 years old... about the time I was forced to sit at a desk all day long and work... it makes life much easier when I've got that much caffiene working for me.
  16. There is a book... and I have it around here somewhere and it gives you percentages and stuff and tells you about how many calories you should be eating. One thing I have learned from experience: Attempting to lose weight (or even shed body fat) is very difficult for me when I run. I do other kinds of lower impact cardio workouts and eat much less and I lose as much as 2 pounds a week. Once I start running my metabolism cranks into 5th gear and I have to eat more to function properly... and thus I have a hard time losing weight. I can only manage to maintain my weight while running. But for a professional source... http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9781594862052&itm=1 Eat fruits, nuts, lean meats, green veggies, etc. And read that book... it's very helpful. Best of luck to ya!
  17. okay, please don't do that ever again...k, thanks.

    Skim milk.

ok, a liter is a lot. I won't touch 2% or higher. I prefer skim but will drink 1% if I must. I think the drinking sim milk comes from a general dislike of milk. I only eat/drink skim milk when it's in my cereal and sometimes with chocolate cake.
  19. I really hope this isn't a repost... This video gets a laugh out of me every time...
  20. Maybe you're waiting too long to eat? Don't let yourself get really hungry... and I think processed carbohydrates might make you a bit tired, as well... Try taking a short walk after you eat... that might help as well... google.com
  21. And that is exactly why I have a hard time throwing stuff away... I don't want to miss it later... oih
  22. Are you a pack rat or a trasher? So, I'm about to move. I'm graduating from college, moving into a new apartment (4 hours from where I currently live) and starting a new 'real world' job... The problem is I have a lot of crap. I'm doing an okay job with throwing away useless, college junk/stuff ... but I need some general guidelines on what to keep and what not to keep... I'd rather have less than more... but not regret having thrown something away. any tips?
  23. Not completely relevant to this post... but still a little interesting.. http://www.epa.gov/greenvehicle/ When my Ranger finally craps out, I'm gonna purchase a hybrid as well... I've heard a lot of good things about the Ford Escape Hybrid. Let us know how she likes her purchase.
