Ok, I'm in a tough spot. I want to do what I want to do but cannot do it because I have to do things that I don't want to do so that one day I can finally do what I want to do. I can finish easily with one degree in 3 semesters, or 4 harder semesters with 2 degrees. I can get a professional internships at Procter and Gamble, Netjets or CAT, or I can take a few months off an go do something like this. Is it really that much of a negative thing on my resume (as my dad claims)? It will postpone my graduation date for six months, I am thinking about applying for next spring. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

Point taken, I agree to some extent. Obviously I am not involved enough to give an educated opinion. Oh man I am gonna get my ass kicked, but It is all from the view of the public. You may say it is Orwellian, but to a degree any society has to be. We here in America love our freedom, and the ideas of not enjoying our freedoms because of restrictions sounds like hell. We cry out when our rights are bruised. This is all good and well, and I respect that. But for a society to live together, there HAS to be certain restrictions. Car crashes and war has become everyday. I don't think like I used to about people dying in Iraq - whether this be wrong or right. People are used to others dying in usual circumstances. Because BASE is such an alarmning topic for many people, it spreads everywhere when something happened. (Many people have told me about the carnage video that spread like wildfire simply because they knew I was a skydiver.) The public does not understand BASE jumpers. We all know they understand BASE jumpers to be crazy and insane, having a deathwish. So when the officials decide to do something to help their citizens in their eyes (even if it in reality harms them), the public agrees. From the public viewpoint, they are doing a good thing. They are stopping crazies from hurting themselves. Little do they know. It is all due to the image that BASE carries. Ive never heard of this. Is it good? 1. The boring way Dilute it with water. Makes a pleasant long drink (or so they tell me). 2. The traditional way You pop two coffee beans in your mouth, chew them, set the shot on fire, put it out and drink it. This is the way described on the bottle, and supposedly the "right" way. 3. The cool way You take the sambuca into your mouth, but don't swallow. Wipe your lips so that none of the sambuca is on your lips. Tilt your head back, and open you mouth, and have your friend light a match, a light the sambuca in your mouth. Wait until you can feel it burning, (it's not as dangerous as it sounds) and then close you mouth. Shake it around and then swallow. This is of course the way my friends and I do it, and it always attracts peoples attention. Try it out at your local, dimly lit pub, impress you friends at the party and have fun. After watching several BASE videos, it looks like the hard openings could do some damage. Compared to Dan Osman's rope jumping they sometimes appear even more vicious. Did Dan do himself physical harm (through rope jumping that is, not all the other crazy stuff!), and how bad is the stop at the end of a ropejump compared to a hard opening. Also, how did Dan orient himself? I can't see how he managed to keep the rope oriented and make sure he falls right, he doesn't apply a whole lot of aerodynamics by the looks of it. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

We just got a 61inch plasma, and my roomate decided to bring his Xbox down here, which made me think about getting a game. I don't ever play anything but racing games. I remember Colin Mcrae being absolutely awesome, (used to play it on PC) and need to decide between Xbox#4 and 2005 version. Any recommendations? Also, Need for Speed has always been awesome. Which version is the best for Xbox? Any other racing games that you think is better? TO someone who knows...So why does Americans use so few Diesel engines? With the rising gas prices and the efficiency of diesel, don't you think that people would rather buy diesel cars than hybrids? (counting out the image factor) What is the percentage of diesel users in europe? Why does the American cars not follow the pattern?
